Anyone else fired up the Olympics are starting this weekend?

What are some of your favorite events?
My favorite event is the bobsledding but I enjoy many of the events including hockey, skeleton, and many more?

Anyone have a particular athlete you will be following?
Of course, I follow all of the U.S. guys but any of the Penguins I follow.

I am just so excited for the Olympics to start.

Apparently one of the lugers died yesterday in a training run. A pretty sad way to start the Olympics. He was from Georgia (the country) by the way, if I'm not mistaken. I don't think anyone was happy to see that.

As for the events, I'll probably be watching the snowboarding and hockey when I get a chance. I'll be expecting Shaun White to be spectacular too, I don't think anyone even comes close to him.

You are correct about the tragic accident on Friday. We saw the video of it while waiting to have dinner at a restaurant. The opening ceremony was truly amazing to watch.

Shaun White blew everyone out of the water last night in the halfpipe competition. He had a good enough first run, that by the time his second run came around he had already guaranteed gold. And yet... he went out and still put up an even better run than his first. He was incredible. Far and away, the best boarder out there. He was fun to watch.

I have actually watched curling two days in a row. Curling ... who would thought how interesting it is.

Also, glad to see Sid the Kid winning it for Canada tonight. Way to represent the Pens.

I am wathcing Men's Ice Skating now. Not exciting as Bobsledding but anytime the USA can win a gold I will watch.
