This division might be a toss up this year. No one looks like a strong contender. Pitt might have a chance. Syracuse, Rutgers ... who knows.

WV with a new QB ... and a chance to prove himself.

What does everyone else think.

GO PITT! I have tickets to the season opener next week.

My wife and I went to the Pitt game today. It was a lot of fun. I love college football and the whole atmorsphie. They won 38-3 ... however, they played Youngstown State so ....

Anyway, Bill Stull started but part way through the second half redshirt-freshman Tino Sunseri ... he looked really good including completing a 42 yard pass. Running back freshman Dion Lewis looked good too.

Pitt may have a chance at the Big East title.

P-I-T-T Pitt Pitt Pitt.

they closest we get is having the International Bowl here in early January....this will be the 4th year and I'm looking to get tickets once they decide who will be invited.......I did notice on my dish TV guide that I can watch free NCAA football until December 3. It's any game that CBS Sports and the affiliates broadcast. I caught some of the Buffalo - UTEP game recently.

Pitt is now 3-0 but Cincinnati looks pretty good.

Any thoughts?

Cincinnati looks too good for the rest of the conference, although we'll see how good South Florida is this week when they travel to Tallahassee to take on the Seminoles. Florida State and Miami(FL) are both making strong cases for 2009 as there re-welcoming back into playing and competing in major college football. But, I just think that Cincinnati has the most complete team right now, and Pike to Gilyard is an almost unstoppable tandem so far. Not to mention that Cincy has played one of the better OOC schedules, compared to the rest of the Big East, and done well, so my early judgement would point to Cincy repeating as BE champs.

The only team I thought that could be Cincy this season would've been Rutgers. However, after that Week One disaster of a game, Cincy is by themselves in terms of torchbearers for the Big East. I'd give them a potential end-of-season Top-5 ranking and they are only a few losses away from even the National Championship Game.

If Pitt wouldn't have dumbed up against NC State ... they would already be ranked in the top 15. Depending on how the rest of the season goes they might get there but .... it is going to take a couple of big wins including a game against Cincinnatti and West Virginia.

Pitt is now ranked 8 ... if they win out including beating #5 Cincinnati I think they will be ranked in the top 5 going into Bowl Season. Pitt has the best team I can remember and I think they will beat Cincy.

I am loving this football season.

The Big East is starting to look like contenders. The freshman qb Pitt has waiting in the wings is really good and look at Dion Lewis.

Pitt may have a team to look at in the near future.

I was ready to fire Wandestat (sp?) at the beginning of the year and especially after the NC State lose but he is looking better ... I still can't believe they lost to NC State but look at some of the other loses of top teams.

GO P-I-T-T .. Pitt ... Pitt ... Pitt

Does anyone else think Pitt can be a top 5 team?

I think Pittsburgh could be a top-5 team, but obviously only if they beat the Bearcats. Dave Wannstedt has done an impeccable job with recruiting and making the Panthers possibly a perennial BCS contender. If the Pirates can get to Tony Pike or contain Zach Callaros, then they have a good shot at winning.

While we are discussing the Big East, way to go for Rutgers getting a top-25 ranking! Sure it's only at #25, but after how they started the season; I'm pretty happy to hopefully scrape a late-season ranking. Losing Kenny Britt and TiQuan Underwood really concerned me (as well as QB Mike Teel) but Tom Savage looks like a legitimate QB for the Scarlet Knights. Love Mohammad Sanu at WR as well, helluva an athlete.

Big East Roundup:

South Florida beat Big East rival Louisville 34-22 to go 3-3 in Big East play. South Florida has been ranked twice this season and could steal some votes soon. USF has a huge shot at being a top-20 team as they face instate rival Miami (FL) next week. Louisville, at 4-7 overall and 1-5 in conference play and faces Rutgers next week.

Rutgers, in a minor upset, lost to Syracuse in their rivalry game 31-13. Syracuse got their first win in conference play and is now at 4-7 on their season. Rutgers is 2-3 in conference play and 7-3 overall and will face Louisville next week. Syracuse faces UCONN to close out their season.

UCONN in a season of tragedy, weeks after the death of starting CB Jasper Howard, beat out Notre Dame in an OT thriller. UCONN is now 5-5 overall and still 1-4 in conference.
_____________________

Very disappointed in Rutgers. I'm glad they are bowl-eligible again but to get beat that embarassingly against a weaker opponent in Syracuse is inexcusable. At least, freshman Mohammed Sanu is looking like a real legitimate player for RU. Breakout freshman definitely. After losing TiQuan Underwood and Kenny Britt to graduation and NFL, some thought the receiving corps would be weak. While they certainly aren't as strong as they have been the past few seasons, Sanu is really going to help out QB Tom Savage for a long time.
