Police sources tell WBEN that NHL superstar Patrick Kane and a cousin were arrested for assaulting a cab driver this morning around 4am. Police sources say the pair hailed a cab and paid a $14 dollar fare at the end of their ride. The two are then alleged to have assaulted the cabbie and took their money back. Both men were charged with second degree robbery and criminal mischief. An attorney says both pled not guilty to the charges at arraignment in city court this morning.

That's just great he beats up and robs the cab driver because he didn't the 20 cents change. Totally unbelieveable......another sports figure that has let money go to his head....

A Grand Jury has dismissed the most serious felony charges against Patrick Kane and his cousin James Kane, but Erie County District Attorney Frank Sedita has announced the grand jury has indicted both defendants for Assault in the 3rd degree and theft of services (both misdemeanors), and harassment (a violation level offense).

Patrick Kane is set to appear in a Buffalo City Court room Thursday afternoon to answer to the charges. The NHL star's lawyer, Paul Cambria, tells WBEN that Kane will be in court, and will plead not guilty.
