Title: Looks like Pens-Wings for the cup

Well with both teams up 3-0 in their series, it looks like Detroit will face Pittsburgh in the Stanley Cup finals. As a Colorado fan, I hate the Wings so I will definately be rooting for the opposing team. Although Detroit looks like a freight train that cannot be stopped. What do you guys think about Sid the Kid playing for the cup? I think it will be like a B-12 shot for the league.

well i think the stars stay in it tonite with a win at home but i still see red wins playing the penguins for the cup...i want sid the kid and the penguins to win it!

Me too because it would be a boost for the league. Either way it's a win win situation for the NHL. You will have Detroit(by far the NHL's most popular team) and Pittsburgh(Sid the Kid is the NHL's savior IMO) This should generate alot of buzz in the US and Canada. I would think TV ratings for this series should be higher than years past. Hopefully this will spark a better TV deal for the NHL next year. Versus just does not cut it IMO. And unless you want to fork over 150 bucks for the center ice package, you only get a couple games a week in the regular season.

I guess we are lucky up here in Canada because all the playoff games have been available to us

The only games that were not shown here in the US were select games in the 1st round. I'm pretty dissappointed that the NHL network didn't step up and broadcast games. Basically that channel is useless in the postseason unless you want to see highlights for 4 hours of the same crap. I was able to watch about 6-7 Avs games (my team) on NHL network which was sweet, but I would think the NHL should do a better job and have a game every night on that channel to put some life back into hockey in the US. Afterall it is a premium channel that you have to pay more fore in most cases. Oh and back on topic, Dallas stole one last night to keep them on life support. When they go back to the Joe in Detroit their season will have officially ended, although one can hope for a miracle. Franzen is not going to play but IMO the Wings are unbeatable at home.

All of a sudden the Stars come alive. Dunno if they can force a game 7, but I'll give them credit for being a scrappy team and not giving up.

yea they hung in there in game 5 and brought the series back to 3-2 id be worried if i were the red wings

So much for that theory. Stars got blasted tonight. Looks like Pens-Wings in the finals. I'm rooting for Sid the Kid and Steel town.

some very exciting games in the this series as the red wings were able to prevail....the overtime game was pretty sweet to watch and the last second shot by the penguins to almost keep the series going was sweet...
congrats to the red wings
