You know, I came up with the same idea a short time ago, and I asked Wax about it. He said it wasn't a big enough issue for it to have its own topic, but that was then. And this is now.

I'm currently investigating if I can form an agreement with YouTube that will grant me the ability to flag videos that contain my voice acting. Since I do not sign any legal contracts with you guys, my voice work belongs to me, so I would think I could claim ownership of it in a video. I just need to figure out what forms I need to fill out and fax.

It turns out that kid on youtube who stole cacti's olympic short is in the hospital. The one that claimed he remade the short and didn't steal it.
He's just ranting on about how pissed off he is his comments and about how he's having chest problems and the hospital. Should I feel sorry? Of course all I really told him was, this is stolen, he's the one who made the swearfest. -------------------- |

I think this topic is a good idea. When I was sprite editing, people stole my sprite edits all the time.
And people knew how distinctive my work was, so people knew what is up. I think because they Sonic is a public domain, anything Sonic (even from a fan) is fair game. But I'm just talking out of my ass. As for Gamebuddy's problem, you need to spread the word with other voice actors. All I can do is credit your voice and give them a link to your DA page. I wish I knew more about Art Thievery since it hasn't happened to me...yet. |
