Now. The moment we've all been waiting for?

One Big Plot!

So for those who didn't have a chance to read the beginning of the plot, I reference this and this.

Does this mean what I think it means?

Most likely.

smile.gif

What it means is that the Firelizards of both the Weyr and the Cliffs are coming down with a sickness. It isn't a plague, but it is a serious disease.

Just how serious is this disease?

This disease has a 60% mortality rate. (In theory.)

Won't firelizards be dying then?

Yes.

Cool!! I think I wanna kill off all my greens and blues.

You know how your lovely admin team has been hard at work? We have used precise calculations to {randomly} cast sickness and death among the Firelizard residents of this website.

Can I kill off my firelizards?

You are free to kill off as many firelizards as you would like. Using our {complex, time-consuming, and very very expensive} randomizing techniques, we have determined a list of all firelizards destined to die. If anybody would like to use this sickness as an excuse to kill off any of their other firelizards, this is acceptable too. Just for the drama, we threw in a third option, identifying any firelizards who contracted the disease, but did not die from it. You are free to play this out as you desire. Ultimately, you may kill off as many lizards as you like, but at the very least, you must kill off all of the ones we have selected for you.

Why do I have to kill off any of my firelizards?

We have way too many of them, that's why. We are not banning firelizards forever, and there will be clutches to come. We have changed the rules of character creation to help make them more rare. But there will be plenty of opportunities to get more firelizards-- once we see that those who are already in existence are being played smile.gif

So when can I start the DISEASE AND DEATH?

This disease is highly contagious but has a longer incubation period than most diseases. As such, firelizard deaths aren't to be expected just yet. You may play out the disease's spread if you want, but deaths should probably wait for another week at least.

If you have no desire to play anything out and simply wish to remove your firelizard's profile from the site, that is fine too.

All that we ask is that you post the name of any/all firelizards you decide to kill so that we can update our listing.

If you want to make your thread a part of the plot, you may label it with the [PLOT] tag. This is not necessary however.

So what are the firelizards I have to kill?

Keep in mind that this is a random list and nobody picked or choosed any names. Also keep in mind that you MAY kill any firelizard labeled as "fine" or "sick; recovers," but that we'd like it if you told us.

Yes! Please post here once you have decided which firelizards you are going to kill, and once you have killed them, so that we can update our listings. Happy hunting!

P.S. There will he Healer threads and such, but they are not going to emerge until the disease has begun to spread.

P.S.

But what the heck are the SYMPTOMS of the disease?

As of now, all that is known is that the hide of the firelizard grows patchy and mottled-- it's a change in coloration, not dryness, and it doesn't become flaky-- and the lizards have a cough. As they get closer to death their hide becomes increasingly mottled with red patches, and they become much hotter.
