Shadows of the Forgotten

RP Information
Season: Summer
Weather: Extremely hot and humid. City dogs will have a much harder time with this than country dogs as the city black top will attract much more heat than the green grass of the country. Long haried dogs are advised not to do much moving and all dogs are advised to stay near a water source as it is easy to die from heat exaustion.

Takri entered the forest with a bound as he located one of vines that held clusters of the berries Sky was talking about. He yanked off three clusters and grasped them firmly in his mouth. Making sure that they were secured, he started walking through the forest again. He was sure these were the berries Skylir was talking about since they were exactly as he had described it. These berries also tasted good, he had tried one once, when he was a pup and found that they were sweet and delicious. He wondered if it really did cure infections and besides, Ember didn't have an infection. He wondered if Sky had sent him for the berries just to get him away. He hoped his gang didn't interfere even though he had given strict orders for them to not interfere. He was still wary of Sky though not Ember since she was in no condition to attack. The sky was a dark purple, blue now. There was only a tiny sliver of sun now and it was setting quick. In a steady trot, he went through the forest. The air was cooler now and the crickets were chirping. Takri restrained the urge to yawn as he would drop the berries if he did so. He decided to rest for a minute and walked over to a stump. He laid the berries on it and laid down to take deep breaths as he couldn't breath through his mouth. After awhile had stood back up and took the berries in his mouth again.
Trotting again, he had the odd feeling that he was being watched and he felt sort of uneasy as his hackles raised slightly, he tensed his body as he still trotted along but he was ready to sprint if something came and attacked him. He didn't have time to battle, not now. He couldn't smell anything except the lingering smell of the trees and of the pack. Wait, he sniffed the air again. He could smell a dog nearby. His fur bristled as he still trotted. Let them think that he didn't know they were there. His soft brown eyes narrowed as he scented the air every so often. It didn't smell like a city dog, he noted after awhile. It was probably a pack member. His hackles fell slightly but they were still raised. He grasped the stems even tighter but not tight enough to snap through them. Still trotting with the berries swaying from his maw, he went through the forest. He was almost through but still not quite. He didn't have time for long aquaintances just now. He had to get back and fast. The only reason he was trotting in the forest was because he didn't want to trip and lose the berries. As soon as he came out to the fields were there weren't so many obstacles, he would start running. Then he smelled the mysterious dog and he was really close. Too close for Takri's liking. Takri stopped and his hackles rose again as he looked around. He didn't like being followed by mysterious dogs.

Nighthawk slowly followed the mysterious dog who had entered his domaine, his green eyes flashed from the near by bush and he back in a little farther so he was not seen. He hadn't seen this dog, but he smelled of the country, actually he smelled of the old barn, Nighthawk wouldn't know he had never actually been inside or even very close, but he figured there were dogs there as he had met Qwik. He watched the dog for a while, all he did was sniff some bushes, but then he seemed to find what he was looking for, berries. Nighthawk's dark aud shifted slightly as the dog took the berries and left. He slowly started to creep closer to the new dog. He was very interested in this dog and wanted to know where he came from and if he had a pack of his own.
He watched the dog sit and put the berries on a tree stump, he sighed and sat down himself, what should he do, maybe this dog was an enemy, or he could be a new alliance. He decided that he would go out to meet this stranger, but before he could the other dog stood up and left, Nighthawk sighed and followed. After awhile he could see the other dog tense up and his hackles start to raise. Nighthawk wondered how the dog could smell him, but he had been so busy that he hadn't noticed that the wind had changed and carried his scent,'Well this is my chance,' he thought to himself. He stepped from the bush and dipped his curtly to show a sign of respect,"Greetings, I am Nighthawk, what are you doing in my domaine," he questioned, his face was hard, but his green eyes shone wiht warmth and welcome.

Takri watched with slightly narrowed eyes as a dark brownish and black German Shepherd came out of a bush. As he introduced himself Takri felt himself relax and his hackles settled down once more. He set the berries down in front of him, then spoke. "Greetings Nighthawk. I have entered your forest many times before for walks but have never been able to find you to ask you your permission. I am leader to your neighboring gang. We reside in the barn." He smiled and nodded lightly. "These berries are for a hurt dog that has taken temporary residence in my headquarters. I am bringing these to her though I'm not quite sure if the other dog that brought her here is telling the truth about these curing infection." Takri yawned and looked at the sky again. Now it was a deep dark blue mixed with light hints of pale purple here and there. Takri once again looked at the direction he had been going before he was interrupted by Nighthawk. He hoped that Nighthawk would let him go very quickly for he had to get back.
"I have to hurry Nighthawk. We will make a better aquaintance later I hope. I will visit again tomorrow to talk with you over the matters of war and such. For now, I must hurry."Takri waited for Nighthawk's reply, he would leave as soon as he did. The sound of numerous crickets rang in his ears as he cocked his head slightly and flicked his ear a little. It was very cool right now and his tassle waved lightly as he sniffed the crisp night air. He wished Night would hurry up. Yawning again and showing his long, sharp and white canines in the process, he breathed in the night air and blinked at Nighthawk as he awaited his reply. He could see the exit through the trees just a few meters away but being polite, he waited for the other dog to say something in case he wished to.

OOC: Wrong dog, the border is Nightwing, the german shepard is Nighthawk. people are always geting confused.
Nighthawk sighed and then laughed under his breath,"Umm, those berries don't really cure anything, are you sure that the dog wasn't trying to get rid of you," he half barked half laughed, but at the urgent reamark of having ot leave he nodded his head,"Yes I understand, you might want to talk to whoever told you about those berries," he replied smiling warmly. He was looking forward to seeing this dog again, and even though they were going to be duscussing the war, he was sure that he had made a new friend.

The woods were always alive. That was one thing Skylir had learned long ago. It stirred around him now, as he paced through the trees looking as bored as ever. His ears were listening, his eyes taking in everything. The night was far from silent; a symphony of crickets and frogs filled the air, dwindling into silence as Skylir passed close to their hiding places. Somewhere off among the whispering leaves an owl hooted, its question floating on an erratic breath of wind to Sky’s attentive ears. Small creatures rustled among the bushes, and, far off, something larger could be heard moving among the brush. It was dark among these trees, where even the thin moonlight couldn’t penetrate. A human wouldn’t have been able to see a thing, but dogs have excellent night vision. He passed between the trees, peering suspiciously into the shadows at their bases, shade so lightless the darkness covering everywhere else seemed grey in comparison. The trees themselves were dark sentinels, stretching their branches up to the silvery canopy above. The smells themselves were everywhere, though Takri’s was plain enough; a sharp animal odor among the fresh scents of the forest. Skylir had not trouble tracking him.
There was another dog with him, too; another German shepherd. He smelled of the forest, so Skylir assumed he must live here. Skylir’s footfalls were silent as he approached; he’d learned to walk unnoticed in the forest just as he had in the city. He was also downwind, one of the reasons it had been so easy to find Takri. He caught the strange dog’s words, “Umm, those berries don't really cure anything, are you sure that the dog wasn't trying to get rid of you. Yes I understand, you might want to talk to whoever told you about those berries,” Skylir’s eyes flicked to the berries, and he snorted out loud. He was close enough now that he didn’t care about making noise; he wanted them to know he was there. Taka had gotten wild grapes? Was his head full of fluff? He’d thought grapes would prevent infection? At least the other dog had been bright enough to realize Sky’d been trying to get rid of Takri… perhaps there was a chance he wasn’t as dim as the rest of his breed around here seemed to be. Skylir padded forwards, stopping a few yards from the other two. He looked from Takri to the stranger with his dull, miss-matched eyes. He watched their reactions to being snuck up on in the middle of the night.
”You’ll want to get rid of Taka here too, if you stick around him for more then a few minutes. He wanted to put grass on an open wound, and now seems to think grapes will prevent infection. If he’s the best you country dogs can put forwards, you’re doomed.” Skylir didn’t bother with an introduction; he didn’t care if the other dog knew his name or not. Takri would probably tell him, anyway. Skylir sat easily, regarding the other dogs blankly. He was still smeared with Ember’s blood, black in the darkness against the pale fur of parts of his coat. He smelled strongly of that blood and of the city, so that the scent of the country was hardly noticeable on him out here, where it was everywhere. It was likely, with his appearance and scent, that the stranger would think he was a city dog, invading the lands; there was no evidence otherwise. Skylir didn’t care, though; he wore his dull face, waiting for the other to speak for a moment, before remembering he should probably hurry. ”Sadly, though, I need to talk to you, Takri. I hope you can follow without me speaking very slowly and loudly. Will I need to explain the hard words… like ‘hard’?”

Takri's muzzle almost twitched into a smile when Skylir said ”You’ll want to get rid of Taka here too, if you stick around him for more then a few minutes. He wanted to put grass on an open wound, and now seems to think grapes will prevent infection. If he’s the best you country dogs can put forwards, you’re doomed.” He had thought that Sky was tricking him but he didn't say so. Then Sky said "Sadly, though, I need to talk to you, Takri. I hope you can follow without me speaking very slowly and loudly. Will I need to explain the hard words… like ‘hard’?” Takri nodded and said "I'll listen and no, I don't need you to explain or speak loudly and slowly" In the tree next to him, a raccoon skittered along the branches, looking down once with bright yellow eyes, then he skittered off again. The trees rustled overhead as Takri waited for Skylir to start talking. Takri looked black as the area he was standing in wasn't illuminated by the bright glow of the moon. The area was deserted except for themselves and Takri's coat had a few burs on it from his silent flight through the forest.
Takri restrained the urge to ask about Ember. He hoped his gang wouldn't interfere with her. His eyes were bright in the shade and glowed faintly as he look at Skylir. It was plain the mutt didn't like him as it was that Ember didn't like Takri. The air was light and breezy and a few bushes rustled with the night activities of the forest animals. An oppossum scurried into sight and stared at the dogs quickly before rushing away. The forest was thriving with night life and the moonlight penetrated through most of the trees though it couldn't penetrate a few spots. Takri's auds were swiveling slightly, trying to detect any sound besides those of the night animals. His tassle hung low and his big frame was relaxed and laid-back. The cool night breezes ruffled his fur and then flattened it against his body. The sharp clean scent of plants were all around him as was the different scents of the different trees that surrounded them. Takri shifted a little and cocked his head slightly. He wondered what Skylir was going to say.

OoC: Yes, I know it sucks... Night woudln't post first! <glares at Night>
Skylir glanced over at strange dog. Apparently Takri trusted him… of course, Takri probably would have trusted Blu, too. But no matter… he certainly wasn’t a city dog. Skylir turned his head back towards Takri, but he wasn’t watching Taka so much as the stranger. Skylir did not give trust easily, or did not even believe, like he did with Takri, that you were so stupid and harmless you were safe, easily. So as he spoke he watched the other German shepherd out of the corners of his eyes, so that the other would not notice him watching. He was watching for any flicker of emotion that didn’t belong; Skylir was suspicious, as always, and he knew nothing of this dog. Best to watch and learn, so that if something happened he would have enough information to make a decision.
”I have to go,” he said, addressing Takri, ”Blu, the city gang leader, will be looking for me and Ember. If her gang follows our trail to the barn, you won’t stand a chance.” It was an excuse, not a reason, but neither of these dogs would know that. ”I’m assuming you won’t accidentally kill Ember while I’m gone. No grass. Actually stop and think sometimes, will you? Oh, and she can’t move that leg for at least a month, and even then she should be careful with it for a while. Make sure she keeps the wounds clean, or she’ll get an infection. If she does…don’t try and give her any medicine, you’ll probably poison her. There isn’t anything you can do for an infection… that I know of.” He fell silent for a moment, trying to think if he’d forgotten anything. Ember would stop Takri from doing anything really stupid… hopefully. Skylir suddenly realized Takri still didn’t know how Ember had gotten hurt. He decided he wouldn’t tell Takri if the German shepherd didn’t ask. Ember could tell that story when she was ready.

Nighthawks green orbs narrowed in confusion as this new dog looked at him supicously,"Umm, hello, my name is Nighthawk, may I ask your's," he barked in a friendly tone. He ddin't necessarily trust this dog, or at least not yet he didn't. He smiled warmly and chuckled under his breath,"It seems everyone is coming to my little slice of the forest," he remarked, but he looked at the two dogs and there was something going on between them,"If you want, you two could talk alone," he asked, he had a stern face but his eyes were warm, yet there was something about this new dog that seemed a tad strange, yet familar. His dark auds twitched uncomfortably while they sat there for a minute, nobody talking or doing anything but looking at each other.
Then the new dog announced that he had to leave,"Why so soon, you could stay around awhile and we could talk," he asked, he would rather get to know this new dog and maybe they could become allies. He then started talking about a hurt dog, and that Takri would probably kill her, he laughed and smiled,"If he needs any herbs, all he needs to do is ask, and I think I could help him out," he remarked,"Well how did this Ember get hurt anyways," he asked his face was worried and yet soft at the same time.

As Nighthawk spoke, It hit Takri that he didn't know how Ember had gotten hurt either. He'd had been too stressed out to ask. Cursing at himself in his mind, he smiled at Nighthawk and said "Yes, well, if I ever need your help, I'll come. Remember, we meet to talk tomorrow at this spot." He smiled warmly at Nighthawk again and nodded lightly and then turned back to Skylir, his auds still now but still absorbing in the sounds of the night and took in many different ones. An owl hooted in the distance and there were a few rustling sounds. A different owl fluttered to a tree next to the one that was next to Takri. A few dead leaves blew up in the air and then fell back down. Takri shifted uncomfortably at the sudden silence and then said "Relax, Skylir, I won't kill Ember and I won't give her medicine unless Night approves and he should know a lot of different types of plants as he probably has lived here his whole life." Takri's tassle swung lightly as the breezes ruffled his fur. Takri looked at the owl, it's yellows eyes stared back at him, unblinking and then it let out a hoot and flew away. His eyes were a soft amber as the shade had slightly changed the hue of his eye. They glowed slightly and mysteriously as he looked at the other dogs and an uneasy silence hung.
"You're never coming back are you?" Takri suddenly asked. He had asked for the sole purpose of breaking the silence but no one would ever know that except himself. Others would just think it was a curious question though Takri already knew that there was a slim chance of Skylir even coming back. This was a dog that didn't like to involve himself with others, Takri could sense the aura of individualality shimmering around him whenever he was near him. He didn't like to be involved with other dogs and perfered to be alone. Takri had been like that once, it was when the humans had left but he got over and soon became his old self once more. The moonlight shone bright in the dark-pale night sky. It was a mix of bluish hues and light purples mixed in with dark purples. The moon was a silver coin in the sky as it was full and round. The stars glittered against the night sky and the crickets chirped. Takri's gaze flickered from Night, then to Skylir, Waiting for their replies. He had to go soon, before his gang started looking for him.

OoC: Guys, dogs don’t know a lot about medicine, and there wouldn’t be much they could do with stuff found in a forest, anyways… don’t go making up weird plants with weird uses. That sort of thing bugs me… you look on the internet and find a plant found in forests that, without being added to anything, or crushed, or anything else, will cure something and I’ll accept that. But don’t go making stuff up. <growls>
Skylir turned his mismatched eyes on Nighthawk, now. ”Oh yes?” he said, ”Don’t give her anything, I said. I doubt either of you know much about medicine; you may live in a forest, but you don’t fight in it. There isn’t much we can do.” The humans could do anything, he thought as he said this; they could work miracles with their medicine… now it seems the average dog thinks grapes have healing properties. ”Talking doesn’t get much done, Nighthawk. Sometimes you have to think and act… not necessarily in that order. You’ll find that out, soon enough.” He ignored both the name question and the query about how Ember got hurt; neither was any business of this dog. He didn’t even know who Ember was… and, well, the fewer dogs who know where ‘Skylir’ has been the better. Ember had said, ‘Sk-‘ before she’d caught herself; that was quite a big to go on for names. There weren’t many dogs whose names started with ‘Sk’. This dog seemed as soft as Takri, though hopefully brighter. Just what the country dogs needed… to ‘kind’ German shepherds to lead them. Just as well; when times got tough a new leader usually rose up. It had happened to Sky before, and he did not intend to be around for it to happen to him again.
”You’re never coming back, are you?”
The words hung in the silence like black crows hovering about a carcass. A black bloom born of one idiot’s need to speak, with glistening thorns ready to catch at Skylir. Trust Takri to say something like that… Skylir turned to the gang leader. His gaze was intense, though it seemed the come from the eyes of a simpleton. Such useful eyes for acting… not that he was acting at the moment. He was presented with a choice; there were ways to avoid that question. An insult, formed just right, would do the trick; or a lie, sweet and simple… ‘I’ll be back’. But Takri was going back to Ember, and he now had a picture in his head. Ember, lying at the mouth of the barn where she could see the fields, waiting for him to return. In his mind it was raining, though in reality it was the middle of the summer; rain drops were blowing in to sting at the border collie’s coat. Ember wouldn’t do that, he knew; she wasn’t like that. He didn’t know how she felt about him, but he just had to hope it wasn’t like that. Still, she deserved the truth. He didn’t owe it to her, since it was her fault he was in this position, but she deserved it. Still… what could he say? ‘No’?
”Tell Ember I’ve gone to make sure she has time to heal,” he said. It didn’t answer the question… but Ember could imply what he was doing from it. In truth, he wasn’t sure if he would return or not. ”Takri, sometimes there are things someone has to do. There’s a war coming; you know that. Perhaps you haven’t seen wars before. Just keep in mind what you’re fighting for; the country. Keep that in mind, because if you’re not careful that’s not what you’ll end up winning.” Those words floated up into the silence of the forest, pushing aside Takri’s. They floated there, not like a black rose, but like a glittering jewel of dew; exactly what Skylir was aiming for. Perhaps these two were idiots; perhaps not. Skylir turned and started off into the forest. In a moment, before anyone would have had time to object, the shadows of the night forest had swallowed him.
His pawsteps were silent as ever, the wind still in his favor. Quickly and silently he sped away from the other two dogs; anything they said he would ignore. He was leaving, traveling though the moonlit word with only his thoughts to keep him company. He knew he was doing this for a reason… or was he? Perhaps he was risking his life for nothing, only so that he could run away from responsibility… wouldn’t be the first time. It always caught up, though. He could run, though… to the city. Blu was there, but at least these idiot gang leaders and Ember weren’t. He’d rather face teeth and claws then get roped into staying around for weeks trying to heal a injured dog.

Takri watched sadly as Skylir left and the words that he left vanished after awhile. Well, he was leaving now and he might as well catch something for Ember to eat on the way. He'd catch something at the fields as he didn't want to stay in The Grace any longer. "Well, I have to go now Night."He waited for the other dog's answer as the wind blew through the trees and the crickets chirped their normal song. He sighed and then turned his gaze to the other dog. His thoughts were running through his mind. Had the other dogs obeyed him? He wondered as he shifted a little. He still needed to meet Night in the morning and he yawned. The air was restless with the sounds of the forest One of his auds flicked absently as the hooting of the owls and the rustling of the bushes continued. His tassle waved about idly as he cocked his head and then shifted again.
He needed to get back but he waited for Night's answer as it would be rude to just leave without a second thought to the other dog. His brow furrowed a bit as he was a bit more impatient than he normally was. He shifted again as he was quite restless and wondered when the other would reply. He hoped it was soon as he stared up at the glittering night sky that was studded with stars that glittered like jewels and a silvery disc that illuminated the dark night. A million stars glittered as Takri wondered if Sakony was seeing the same stars. He sighed as he waited for the other dog. His thick hair was ruffled as the night wind kept ruffling it and then flattening and then ruffling it in the same rhythmic pattern. The trees waved their branches as the wind whipped through them. Being restless wouldn't do any good Takri thought as he tried to be a little more patient.
A owl hooted again in the far off distance as Takri's eyes hinted that he was a little impatient. He hoped that if the other dog noticed his impatience, he wouldn't think he was rude or anything. Praying that his gang had obeyed him, he bit his lip and shifted again. Calm down, he told himself but his body wouldn't obey and he shifted again. He lifted his paw and then put it down again as his brows furrowed a bit. Sighing and taking a deep breath, he managed to calm himself for the time-being. Taking in another deep breath, he turned his gaze on Night.

Mari made her way towards the group of dogs. Her white paws touched the ground softly as she followed her nose. She could smell them just up ahead, and she was lucky. It seemed that both alpha's of the country were here, good. She had business with them, but they didn't know that yet. Her blue eyes were warm, but held no feelings within them. All she wanted was to be useful, and to travel more. She wanted to make friends with both country and city dogs. It might not be so easy though, she thought to herself. It necer was so easy before, and she wasn't about to let her guard down. Soon enough Mari could see the little gang of dogs around the place.
It was some what weird to her though. When she was in the war none of the humans even tried to make friends. They wanted to win by themselves, but they were stupid. At least these dogs had some what the right idea. It took a bit before Mari went ahead and made herself known to all. As she walked closer she thought about what she was going to say first. Then she knew. Walking up ever so close she finally stopped and bowed down to the dogs in front of her. She knew that she was only bowing to the alphas, and any others wouldn't really count. Then the white fea lifted her head up again.
"My name is Mari, I am a loner, but I am not looking for a place to call a pack. Actually, I want to just be a friend of the country dogs, and I hope to help you. I am here to ask if I could be a messanger for the alpha's here. I have nothing else to do, and I can send new back and forth between the city and country dogs. I could even spy around if you want me to. This is all I ask for, and maybe a place to rest up at the moment." Mari didn't sound as if she was trying to force the alpha's to agree to her. She hoped that they would take her offer in though, for she could be useful. "I was once a dog of war and I spied on the enemy. I have talent for that I am not too new at it." Right then she was only trying to make her pint proven that she had experiance on the matter. Now all she had to do was wait, and hope that these dogs would take in her offer.

Nighthawk sighed and nodded to Takri that he understood that he had to leave,"I will meet you here tomorrow and we will discuss the coming war," he replied softly, but then an unfamiliar scent came to his nose and he pricked his ears as a new dog entered the conversation. He nodded his head in her direction so to show that she was here,"Hello, my name is Nighthawk, and I am the alpha of this part of the country," he introduced himself to her and as she talked of comunication between the city dogs he narrowed his eyes,"I have no need to speak to the city dogs, I will accept you into my pack if you wish to join but if not then I have nothing else to say here," he said strongly, and with one curt nod to Takri he gave her a questioning nod and headed off into the direction of his camp hoping silently that she was following him.

Takri: Takri left as a new dog came into the area and she talked something about being a spy and being a friend to the country dogs and looking for a pack. Night told Takri that they would indeed meet her and then told the loner that he would be willing to let her join his pack and then nodded to Takri and left. Takri spoke up and said "I accept you as a friend and ally but we need no spies yet and I don't think we ever will." Then he padded away. He didn't wait for her answer as he had already stayed far too long and he started running but screeched to a stop as he saw a silouette as he reached one of the many entrances and exits of the forest but it was the entrance he had use to come in and now he was using it to leave. His hackles raised a bit as his eyes narrowed slightly but then a breeze wafted by and carried the scent of..........No, It couldn't be........It was Sakony! He leapt forward and asked "Sakony! What are you doing here?! I thought you were gone for good!" He was a bit confuse but overjoyed to see her. She smelled like the barn and he immediately asked "You visited the barn already? Well I need to get back to it and so we'll talk later." He said firmly as he waited for her reply before starting off again. Sakony: Sakony stared at the entrance and when she saw the silouette of another dog, her fur bristled and she went into fighting position, her jaw down to cover her throat and her legs spread a bit apart, ready to spring but then the silouette got closer and a voice shouted "Sakony! What are you doing here?! I thought you were gone for good!" She stood up in her normal stance again and her fur fell flat. Takri! "Takri! I was just going out to look for you! Your GANG told me about the gangs and stuff and yes we will talk later. C'mon, we have to get back." Sakony smiled at the happiness she saw in her brother's eyes and started to run back. Her feet flew over the ground as she looked over her shoulder briefly and shouted "Hurry up Tak!" Then laughing raced across the earth, closing the distance between herself and the barn. Her tail flew gracefully behind her as her paws raced elegantly across the earth and her form sliced through the air easily and with grace. Her tongue hung out a bit as she left The Grace further and further behind her. Takri was bound to catch up, he was a fast dog like herself. The air whooshed by her as she sailed through it and the crickets chirped as the grass swished along her body. ~Sakony has left~ Takri: Takri grinned as Sakony spoke and he found out that his gang had told her about the gangs and stuff like that. Then his grin became wider as she shot off like a bullet and then looked back and yelled "Hurry up Tak!" and then kept on running. Takri bounded across the earth and kicked up dust, leaving it to stream behind him as his paws repeatedly hit the earth and then left it only to hit it again. His tail flew lightly behind him as he advanced toward the figure of his half-sister. He was catching up to her but then he stumbled a bit. He fell but he quickly leapt up to catch up as the grass lightly grazed his fur and the night wind blew into his face. The Grace was now pretty far behind him as the dark, hulking shape of the barn rose up against the night sky like a gargoyle. They were almost there and the distance between The Grace and them was lengthing as Takri finally caught up to Sakony and put on a burst of speed that allowed him to whizz by her. His tongue hanging out, he raced toward the comforting silouette of the Rango barn and to Ember. ~Takri has left~

Mari watched and listened as one of the alpha's said that she was a friend, but that he needed no messanger. She could join his gang though, but that would make her a servant dog again. The white fea did not want to be ruled over just yet. If the other alphas do not want my help, then she just might have to join him. Still, Mari looked then to the other dog. What would this brute say, she wondered. He seemed to add her as a friend as well, but did not want her offer either. Stupid dogs, they did not know what was going on. It was better to send a loner than an actual pack member to tell the city dogs anything. What ever, she still had to talk to the city alphas. Then the alpha in front of her started to leave as well as the first one. Before he could though a smell came to Mari, and it seemed to come to the other dog as well.
The white hunsly turned her head to see a lone dog. Was this a friend or enemy? Mari waited, and it seemed as if these two dogs knew each other. So this other dog was a friend, some what? What ever, Mari did not want to stay here any longer. This place was quite boring, but Mari liked action. She got up as the other two started to leave. Turning away from the dogs she left without a word. The city dogs, from what she heard, were more reasonable. They would be a better side to go with. As long as they take in her offer. If not she will have to stay a loner and find out what else she has to live for. That, or she could just join up with the country dogs. Still, she didn't want to give up her own independance at the moment. It would be a while before she could ever do that.
