Shadows of the Forgotten
|
RP Information
Season: Summer
Weather: Extremely hot and humid. City dogs will have a much harder time with this than country dogs as the city black top will attract much more heat than the green grass of the country. Long haried dogs are advised not to do much moving and all dogs are advised to stay near a water source as it is easy to die from heat exaustion.

Bound’s paw still throbbed from the scabbed over wound. Her limp wasn’t so much a limp now that it was healing, but it still hurt and would occasionally open if she walked on the gravel or rocks for a long time. Bound’s ears were tossed back and forth listening to everything she could catch. Her walk was steady and at ease. She had no where to go and was in no hurry to find a place to be. The green pastures that she had been walking through for at least two days, had done wonders for her feet. Her coat was slightly longer then usually but ya can’t blame her, no humans around. Bound’s tail bounced from side to side almost like a duster would if casually being held. Her bottom jaw was left to hang open as her soft, squishy, pink tongue danced like crazy in place; up and down, up and down. Rebound stopped her tracks suddenly, listening more intently to her surroundings. Her hackles rose up, upper lip curled up to show a pair of long, thick, pearly white fangs. Her ears lay flat against her golden colored skull. She was willing to attack and she was ready for what ever it was.
Bound stood there turning in circles like a mad, rabid dog mutt. And to all the pure breeds she had known, she was rabid and was lower than the dirt itself. Why? Because her mom was a wolf, pure wolf, not a single strand of dog blood in her veins. She came from a powerful pack, you could say she came from royalty, but didn’t stop her mom from going off with her dad. Her dad was a pure Belgian Malinois, or so the papers claimed. He had everything, a family, twenty girlfriends, and at least forty litters that contained from three to eight pups, sometimes ten pups a litter. So you could say he was a player, or a man whore, and he was. Bound hated her father, her brother’s adored him and when Bound’s mother had the litter all she could see was her love in her eyes. Bound was sick of the powder puff of a sissy for a father. Bound left her litter before her mother finally came to her senses to find a wolf mate. But it was too late she was already carrying his sixtieth litter in his five year old life.
Bound, finally relaxed, allowed her hackles to sink back along her backside. Her muscles finally relaxed as she gained all control once more. Bound needed a nice run to cool her completely, but the summer heat was going to kill her. Bound decided on running along a hidden fence line that ran under a few trees, just giving enough shade. Bolting forward like a race dog, Bound’s tail whipped wildly behind her like smoke. Her tongue hung low out of her mouth, her legs cress-crossed as she sprinted along the fence. Her body blurred past a couple of deer, who quickly backed away from the speeding figure.

It seemed the other dog had had no intention of allowing her to stay as she had lost him only moments after trying to follow. She had stayed the night, like all others, at Rango Farm and headed back out to the pasture in the morning. The day was young and the sun was bright. Days like these, the whole pasture smelled of flowers and sweet grass. Qwik wouldn’t live anywhere else, not on her life.
Trotting out through the field, the green grass reaching up to her neck, she poked around here and there. Her nose was planted firmly on the ground as she scented for any mice or birds. Being part gundog, namely Brittany spaniel, her sensed of smell and hunting instincts were very keen and in no time at all, her strong jaws closed firmly on a small field mouse. She gulped it down swiftly, bones and all, and continued along her way.
Suddenly, her auds pricked forward as a blur suddenly shot past her just a few feet away. Qwik leapt backwards with a yelp and watched as it continued along. The young dog smelled the air, it was dog! The blur had been on a dog! Her tassel wagged madly and her excitement peaked. She could catch it easily. Shooting forward, Qwik bounded over to the dog with great ease, as she pulled up beside her. Tri-colored fur blew wildly in the wind she was creating as she turned to look at the dog. She barked a challenge and passed her a bit. She wanted to race. Qwik was extremely fast, hence her name, and it was nothing to her to catch and keep up with this dog. She wanted to see just what this dog could dish out.

Bound turned her head to the sound of the bark. As the other canine passed her, she took the challenge and kicked her speed into another gear. She darted forward with little effort, speeding ahead of the tri-color dog just a head enough so that her tail was brushing the other dog. Giving a glance back Bound gave off a snappy bark as if wondering how much more the other was willing to give out before becoming tired. Rebound let her strides ease, yet lengthen; slowing her pace, yet still keeping distance. She may not have speed like a race dog or bullet but she could let off a lot of ground in just a few moments.
Pulling her strides shorter she let her frame run side by side with the other. The tip of her tongue bounced outside her mouth. Bound parted her lips and let a sweet, yet powerful voice out…
Names Rebound, or Bound. And let me guess your names Speedy?
Bound laughed slightly. She had no idea what the other’s name was, but she observed how the dog ran and just let a small joke ask the question. Bound quickly corrected herself and took a quick deep breather before speaking once more…
I’m sorry, I was wondering what you name was?
Good job Bound. Rebound was four but she still acted like a young pup. Bound continued to keep pace before letting a smile carve across her lips, and like that Bound lengthened her strides once more top take a few paces ahead of the other female. Rebound kept her strides wide and easy. She didn’t want to take off without knowing the other. Yet if they were going to race Bound needed a lead.

Qwik kept up her pace as the other pulled ahead. Jaws parted and tongue flapping madly in the wind, Qwik swerved behind the dog and to her other side. Picking up speed, Qwik passed her and gave just enough distance to pass in front of her and back to her original position. Now the 2 dogs were side by side and Qwik grinned as she was given a name and teased about her speed.
"Sorry Bound, names Qwik. Close though" she teased, pulling ahead a bit and then returning back to her spot. Qwik allowed Rebound to get a slight lead, for in a few moments Qwik would take off and most likely pass her with ease. For most dogs her size and age, even the speed she held now was difficult but she was keeping up with ease. The feel of the wind ruffling her pelt and scent of wild flowers as she zoomed past them. It was pure heaven. Shaking herself from her thought, Qwik focused on the task ahead and waited for Rebound to make a move.
Suddenly, Qwik stopped dead in her tracks, almost causing her to flip over herself, and started at the house in which she had come. Side glancing at Rebound, she let out a single bark and dashed for the Rango House. Someone was there, she could sense it.
Qwik Out
((Yeah im kinda Muse-less too at the moment ))
