Shadows of the Forgotten

RP Information
Season: Summer
Weather: Extremely hot and humid. City dogs will have a much harder time with this than country dogs as the city black top will attract much more heat than the green grass of the country. Long haried dogs are advised not to do much moving and all dogs are advised to stay near a water source as it is easy to die from heat exaustion.

Kari sighed as she sat next to the beautiful fountain. This was her favorite spot in the city. Not because of the fountains beauty or because there was no fighting here, because the fountain was a lot like herself. They where both beautiful. Kari was soemtimes treated like a baby because of her looks, when inside she was as good a fighter as anyone. Her mother had often taken her here for the fountain's beauty. So over time she grew attached to it.
She smiled to herself, she didn't really know what made her a fighter. Probably her father's blood. He had always been a fighter. Her mother had just been a pretty face. Anybody who called her weak ended up with a scar across their face. Her home was basically all over the place. She roamed the city and the country, never staying in one place to long. Though, even though she was loner she sometimes wanted a lover or even a friend. But she had done well by herself.
When you've been alone for a long time your heart becomes very hard. She thought. Is my heart hard? Am I lonely? She asked herself. She knew that was a dumb thing to ask herself. Wouldn't she know if she was lonely? She wanted a lover, but not some idiot brute who just liked her for how she looked, someone who really loved her. Everyone had someone in this world, did she?

Large paws carried a black and blue dog towards the Crystal fountain. Long oddly marked pillars moved effortlessly, propelling her towards her destination with certainty. Normally, Blu would not visit such a place as she was found of fighting and treated it much like a sport. But today, she needed to get away. Away from the blood shed of the city and screams of terror at night. A smile grin graced her maw as she recalled that most of the screams were caused by her.
Slightly long coat waved in the cooling breeze as the wind carried a scent to her nose. A dog. It seemed she was heading or already arrived at the place in which Blu herself had set out for. Damn...no fighting Though Blu was considered a killer and seemed to break or bend every rule that had crossed her path she very much respected the gods and their wishes for even the great Blu bowed her head to them. She expected the same from every other city dog she came in contact with and especially those in her pack of serious punishment was given without another thought. Simple as that.
Finally, Blu arrived at her long-awaited destination to spot the dog in which she had scented earlier. A female...doesn’t look like much of a fighter anyway but truth be told, neither do I... It was true that Blu's looks made her seem unfit for fighting and her long hair hid any scars that may come upon her body. But those fools died by the jaws of the very thing they saw as harmless. Leaping up to the stone ledge, Blu sat just beside the female, proving, by keeping her balance on the slippery surface, that she knew much of her environment and exactly what she was doing. "Hello, my fellow mongrel." she barked in her naturally teasing tone "What bring you on this fine day to this hell hole of city?"

Kari saw see another dog. A female like herself. A smile flickered across her face. Funny. She thought. "Oh just wandering. Killing a few birds here and there." She said with a shrug. She really hated birds. She didn't know why. She just loved feeling them squirming in her jaws. It was just so fun. And besides, she couldn't just attack dogs when ever she felt like fighting. The gods wouldn't like that.
So instead she took it out on birds. And besides she never started a fight with another dog unless she had a reason. "I'm Kari. And just who you might be?" She asked. The sun shone on her black coat making it shimmer in the sunlight. This dog probably thought she was weak. After all she didn't look like much of a fighter. But niether did this dog. Never judge a book by it's cover. This dog is probably one of the best fighters in the city. She thought.
Damn beauty. She thought angrily. Why couldn't she look like how she really was? A good fighter? Was that to much to ask? Well the gods made her this way and that was how she was. She had to live with it. Beauty is a gift. She reminded herself. That's what her mother always said. Use what the gods give you. Your beauty is a gift. Dogs think your not much of a fighter, then they end up getting beeaten by you and they run away with their tail between their legs. Her mother had been right. The dogs that underestimated her ended up beaten. It was their own fault.

"Killing birds eh? A good way to strain your jaws and stain your teeth without good reason." she barked coldly. She was extremely critique of those outside her personal circle of friends. To intimidate and come off as a cold-blooded killer. It was really the only way to survive in the city and she did it well. Her auds lay flat as she mentioned her name and asked her for hers. A cold grin again graced her maw as she barked simply "Blu".
It was no wonder the dog was named that way. Her body was blue speckled with black patches and her eyes were an eerie crystal blue. All in all, she was just a blue dog, nothing more said. She often wondered why anyone would have to ask why she was named the way she was. Often times those who asked got a good snap in the face before she replied with "Dont ask obvious questions". She rather hated stupidity and never allowed it on her territory and she knew she never would. "Who is your leader, princess?" she scented the air. The smell of both the city and country clung to the dogs coat.
At this, Blu stood up on the stone ledge, keeping her balance expertly on the smooth surface. "Ohhh, we dont have a pack do we princess? Or are you just a little new to the neighborhood?"

OOC: I'm going to go ahead and reply because I'm pretty much bored out of my mind.
Kari almost let a growl escape her maw. She hated being called princess, or duchess, or anything besides Kari. So what? She liked killed birds. In fact she loved it. It was fun and besides she wasn't gonig around taking her bad temper around on dogs that hadn't done a thing to her. "No I don't belong to a pack." Kari said in a near snarl. "And perhaps you didn't hear me correctly, my name is Kari. Not princess." She couldn't control herself, she couldn't control how pretty she looked.
No fighting here you idiot. She reminded herself. She knew right away she did not like this dog. Her eyes narrowed, damn, no birds around. She had a feeling she would have to kill a lot of birds to get her anger under control. She hated how she looked, even if it did help her survive, being beautiful is something she hated. No I couldn't look like a normal dog I had to be beautiful. No let's make her look extra pretty. She'll love it. She thought in disgust.
It's a gift. She reminded herself. She took a breath and looked back at the dog, Blu. It certainly fitted her. "Killing birds is a habit. I just hate them, little rats with wings." She said calmly. She glanced at the fountain and thought Sorry, temper. But hey you guys made me. She thought, smiling to herself. For one time since she had gone on her own she actually missed her parents. She loved watching her dad tear birds apart for her when she was small, she missed her mother scolding her father for setting a bad example, she knew she's see them again. Well some day anyway.

Blu smirked as she found she had hit a nerve. "Well, Princess" she said the word with extreme exaggeration. "Ill call you what I see fit. You want my respect, dog, good luck in getting it." she snapped. Suddenly a small breeze ruffled the water at the base of the fountain and the blue dogs gaze traveled toward the disturbed liquid. For only a split second, a black dog appeared and was gone. Blu's crystal eyes narrowed and her auds lay flat in annoyance before she turned back to the female.
With one effortless leap, all four paws hit the earth beside Kari and Blu stood there for a moment, head held high, before continuing on. "I have to go, Princess." it was true. The gods had officially demanded she leave. They knew better to allow even a spark of tension and they did their job well "Perhaps well meet up again some time eh? You can most likely find me at that old apartment, the one on the corner of the Green Street. Use your nose and you'll get there. If im in, you can stay the night perhaps but if im not" she paused and turned her head back to look at Kari "You just had better hope im there." with that, Blu took off in a run through the city. Large paws carrying her faster and faster until she was well away from the dog and completely out of sight.

Kari glared as the Blu left. Well she couldn't blame her. After all, Kari did look like a princess. Perhaps she should take Blu up on her offer. She was sure she could show Blu how useful she was. She knew where the old apartment was, she just never knew someone lived there. And she was lonely. But this dog wouldn't become her friend, she could tell that much. But it was still better than nothing right? Maybe she should kill a few birds and think about it.
Maybe she should meet some dogs in the country. Or maybe she should just stay on her own, even if she was lonely she did fine by herself. She sat in deep thought, was she lonely? Was her heart hard? Should she go after Blu? Well, at least if I go with Blu I won't be lonely. She thought. But there are dogs all over the place, why should I choose to go with her? And I don't think I could get used to being called Princess. She thought.
But... I might as well. Perhaps there's more to this dog. And once I earn her respect maybe we could stand each other. She looked at the fountain. You guys better be telling me to do the right thing. Kari thoguht making a small bow towards the fountain. She ran after Blu, following her trail with her nose. Still unsure about what she was doing.
Kari out.
