Shadows of the Forgotten
RP Information

Season: Summer

Weather: Extremely hot and humid. City dogs will have a much harder time with this than country dogs as the city black top will attract much more heat than the green grass of the country. Long haried dogs are advised not to do much moving and all dogs are advised to stay near a water source as it is easy to die from heat exaustion.

The Plot
Its been months since the humans left. They disappeared without a trace. I don’t understand it, my Jessi was here one day and gone the next. I’m on my own now, I’m alone.
The city dogs are merciless, there planning to attack the country. They say that all the land belongs to them rightfully. I don’t believe them, but the Country dogs are antsy and unless this is taken care of we’ll all be hurdled into war. I’ve stayed near Rango Farm ever since my Jessie left. Only today have I ventured out. Takri's been taken good care of me and my pups but today I just need to clear my head. I’m so scared.

The Construction Lot...Jessi used to take me here a lot before I had my pups. We used to weave around the big metal poles and just have fun. Then the sun would set and we'd have to head home, but only after another weave through the rubble. I’d give anything for those days again...Just to go back an- Wait....is that? I think I smell do-

Suddenly a scream split the night and everything went quiet. A big boned mutt backed away from the lifeless corpse of a spotted dog. A snicker echoed through the night as his eyes danced with delight at the red liquid pouring from her throat. "War is on the wind. The scent of death and blood will cover these lands. I can feel the time growing closer every night. The city will have the country and all those against us will die. Just like you ignorant female." he growled before stepping into the shadows and diisapearing into the night.

Jersey "Yes, well, you would think so wouldn’t ya? Fortunately for me, family means something to her" she grinned. Still, she was tense and ready to fight, in case this dog, who she had come to the conclusion was crazy, decided she wanted her life ended any time soon. "We are sisters." she said simply. "I don’t run with her, I don’t run with anyone. I don’t even agree with my sister but she'd never kill me, that is perhaps a weakness of hers"

She hadn’t seen her sister in around a months but if what the stupid mutt had said was true, and Blu was after this dog, he was in serious trouble. A Shepherd? Hm, must be new, she knew her sister to be much more merciful than she let on, you just had to know how to get it out of her.

As the dog Lunged, Jersey went with her. Her jaws were aimed at the dogs skull, she'd blind her if she had to. If the dog made a sudden turn towards her, She'd be met with teeth to the face. Her main objective was to knock her off her feet before she even got to the other dog. She had done this more than once and though not exactly Blu, she had her blood running through her veins.

OoC: Night, just clarifying... Blitzz can't know Blu is after Skylir. You didn't rp her finding out.

”Oh, then you aren’t as stupid as your gaze lets on” What was she referring to? Skylir sighed inwardly; yes, she was plummeting down the intelligence scale, wasn’t she? She’d passed Takri already; at least he didn’t attempt smart comments. Well, at least she’d dropped the cool act. She was back to idiotic snarling. None of the surprise he felt showed on his face as she said, "You won't live to see her again and if you did, you would be torn to pieces, she is hunting you ya know," She couldn’t know; a mutt like her wouldn’t have been close enough to Blu to have found out she was looking for him. So it was just a comment meant to irritate him; she didn’t know she spoke the truth. He wasn’t going to give her any sign that she’d struck a cord, either. His face stayed as blank as if had ever been, even as he convinced himself she knew nothing, and therefore was no real threat. Too bad, though; it looked like it would be a fight. Apparently Blitzz was a coward at heart. Skylir lowered his head, hackles standing straight up, feet apart. It was the fighting position of all dogs everywhere; it put you jaws in the way of anything coming at you, and guarded your throat from an idiot’s straight-lunge attack.

The growl gave her away; another reason you did not let your anger leak out of you, especially as sounds. The texture of a sound as simple as a growl changed as someone was about to attack; it was something Skylir had noticed after his first few fights. This time, though, he was distracted, his conscious mind on the white dog’s words. There was always a part of Skylir that was watching though; the wolf in him, one could say. It sniffed the wind and peered into shadows, watching those around him for little movements that meant something was coming. It was the reason Skylir was still alive, the part of him that whispered in the dark and told him to fight, not flee. And if had seen the tensing of muscles that must come before a spring with any power in it, the slight change in the note of the growl. Fighting instinct took control; not that Skylir had to do much. It was probably the worst thought out attack ever. Rage did tend to cloud you mind….

The throat is the worst place on a dog to bite for; it is right under their jaws, and if they move their head a fraction of an inch, the target is gone. Especially so if the dog is prepared to fight, with their head lowered. Jersey was lunging up a slope of trash; she’d have to put a lot of power behind that lunge. Best not to commit to something you can’t pull out of without thinking of a decent target first. Skylir hardly had to twitch his jaws at all to counter the attack; his flashing teeth easily blocked the bite. In fact, if he hadn’t moved, she probably would still not have hit; his jaws had been between her and his throat the whole time. The lunge at her throat had also brought he within easy biting distance; Skylir would have had an easy snap at the side of her neck as she was pulling away, but he choose otherwise.

He moved quickly; he had seen, out of the corner of his eye, Jersey leaping. She couldn’t have gotten here before Blitzz might have hit him, but that wasn’t important. What was important was keeping Blitzz there to be hit. So instead of simply blocking with his jaws, he opened them wider to meat the white dog’s attack. He’d snap his teeth closed on her muzzle, holding her where she was. If she moved her head to avoid his jaws, which seemed doubtful she’d have time for, his jaws would instead close on the side of her throat. She couldn’t get backwards fast enough; his attack came as she attack, not as she finished; you can’t change direction in the middle of a lunge. Either way, she’d be held fast, and she’d get a Jersey on top of her. He wasn’t going to kill her, idiotic and angry as she was, not if he could help it. Stupidity wasn’t a crime, even if he considered attacking him to be one. She’d get a nice big helping of pain for that mistake, but death was going a little bit too far. Skylir avoided killing if he could.

OOC: I know it was a bluff, and she was just blabbering anyways so she really didn't think too much about what she said.

BIC: A dark red pelt hid in the shadows not more than three feet from where the dogs were having their fight, and he was down wind so they would not smell him, and he watched the taller dog act cool calm and collected, he liked this dog, much like himself, but that Blitzz dog was terribly unstable and she was very unintelegent just throwing out remarks without thinking about what she is saying. His hard stare burned into the white dogs face, they had met many times before and she had always tried to pick a fight with him, but she always seemed to flee. He watched the three dogs banter back and forth, each remark Blitzz made was getting more and more unintelegent, and her remark about Blu being all talk, he smirked at the words Blitzz was worse than Blu by any means. He narrowed his eyes as Blitzz tensed, that was her ready to attack position he had seen it many times, and she threw herself at the tall dog, but he was ready with a counter attack which sent her backwards, she set herself up for another attack, but Blazer could not see a fight break out between the loners, and he could not see her lunge at him without doing something to prevent the fight. He burst from the shadows and threw himself at the crazy raving dog.

Blitzz yelped in surprise as the huge dog before her hit her with his own attack, as he bit at her she was quick and tried to dodge the blow but insted she fell back and growled. Her snarling increased as she was getting ready to lunge again at the tall dog but then the red dog burst form the shadows and hit her in the side sending her sprawling into the trash heap. She jumped to her feet and growled,"You!!!!," her angry voice seemed to shake the junk around the dogs. Blazer just stood there his hard gaze resting on the crazy dog, his dark auds twitched back and forth wondering if the other dog would attack him.

At the somewhat confusing collision of the dogs in front of her Jersey landed where she would have hit Blitz would she have not been thrown back, and, the instant her paws hit the ground the left it. In a powerful jump, Jersey threw herself away from all 3 dogs. The dust she had kicked up cleared to reveal Jersey, head lowered, body braced, auds back, and a low growl in her throat.

She wasn’t in a blind rage like Blitz but she was on the defensive. This other dog just popped in and attacked Blitz, there was nothing to suggest he wouldn’t do it any one of them equally. Jersey trusted none, loved none, and respected few. It was her nature but she knew how to control it, unlike some.

"Who the hell are you?" she snapped at the newcomer. Her voice, instead of being tease and cocky, was flat and even with just a hint of danger. She wasn’t going to attack, not if she could avoid it, no.

Skylir felt his teeth make contact, tasted blood. That watching, waiting dark part of him shouted in his mind to bite down harder, tear out her life! But, as always, he ignored him. He retreated backwards, back into the shadow of the car. He was well out of the way when the red dog came; Skylir had known he was there, on a subconscious level. It was that alert part, again… it’d been watching the stranger even as Skylir fought, watching for any threatening move. He didn’t even bat an eye as the stranger rocketed out of the shadows and sent Blitzz sprawling. That wasn’t a hard task, when she was busy with Jersey and Skylir, and bleeding from wounds inflicted by the same. Couldn’t this dog keep his nose out of other’s business? It was quite clear Skylir hadn’t needed any help; a pup could have beaten Blitzz to a pulp. So this dog, of course, had joined in the fight on the side that was obviously winning… not the side that needed help, the side that was sure to be victorious. Sure, perhaps Blitzz had started the fight, and the stranger had seen that, but Skylir still didn’t like those who butted into a fight for a side that was winning. He himself would have joined Blitzz’s side, annoying psychopath or not.

Skylir was not happy. He’d heard what Jersey had said, before she’d jumped; she was Blu’s sister. The last thing he needed was to be caught by Blu around her sister; it wouldn’t be good for either of them. Blitzz; she was a maniac who out to be driven out of the city. This other dog he didn’t know about, which meant he did not need the aggravation this newcomer would cause. He hadn’t come to the city to get stuck surrounded by three weird dogs; he’d come to get Blu’s attention, not direct it at others. Now was as good a time as any to slip away; all the attention would be on this newcomer and Blitzz, who probably wasn’t about to give up without at least a bit more of a fight. Jersey could handle it, if the stranger couldn’t. Skylir didn’t want to have to deal with more company, more questions, when the situation had cooled down. He would act now, while everyone else was still busy. It was easy to slip out of focus, when attention was directed elsewhere; you became a shadow among shadows if you concentrated, held yourself the right way. It wasn’t that other couldn’t see you; it was that their eyes passed right over you and didn’t have a second thought about it.

He slipped away, silent, unseen. He had not a touch of guilt, just like when he’d left Ember. He couldn’t stay around other dogs; he’d get dragged into matters, and maybe some of his troubles would rub off on his companions. He’d know defended a city dog and a country dog; he’d wrapped himself in the war, but somehow gotten tangled in both sides at once. Skylir did not get along well with those in power, but he did seem to attract those who lived on the edges. The problem with such people was that they were always looking for leadership… and so who did they turn to? The one who couldn’t keep his damn mouth shut around the powerful dogs, the one who couldn’t stop himself from defending others. It had happened before, and it had started happening again when he’d brought an injured Ember back to Takri’s gang. You’re and idiot, Skylir, he told himself… why can’t you stay out of trouble? And as soon as there is a sign of trouble, you’re out of there. A fight you’ll do, but as soon as it looks like the situations settled and the others might realize you had a hand in it, you’re gone.

Blazer noticed that he was in no danger, and at the Jersey's remark about who he was he just turned his gaze to her and kept that same hard stare,'If I give out my name it could lead to trouble with the city and the country dogs, they don't need to know anything unless they are trustworthy, especially if they are related to Blu," he thought to himself, he was extremly cautious and he did not easily give out his name. He turned his head to the taller dog who did not seem so tall now the he was standing next to him, they were almost the same hieght, he quickly nodded his head and then turned back to Blitzz, but never taking his eyes off of the others. "Leave now Blitzz, there is no need to fight amist ourselves we need to cooperate at these hard times," he barked calmly, his eyes keeping the same hard stare that they always held. He was not trying to help these dogs in the fight, he was trying to end the fight, he sided with neither Jersey, the taller dog, or Blitzz, he was preventing a small war from breaking out between them all, there was no need for that.

Blitzz snarled in fury,"You are all pathetic, and you shall all die, I will kill you all, the loners are pathetic, I will join Blu in her fight for the country and drive all of you from this land," she ranted madly, and she snapped her gaze to Blazer,"And you, you will never see the day that all the city dogs rule over the country," she growled. Blazer gave her a soft sly smile,"Then you and I have something in common," he retorted as Blitzz fled from the dogs in the Junk Yard.

Jersey's eyes narrowed but she held his gaze evenly. The tall dog was gone, his presence was missing amongst all the other dogs. She couldn’t care, hell, she wouldn’t have followed if he'd left in plain sight. Jersey wasn’t on to tag along like a little lost puppy.
The dog obviously wasn’t going to give him an answer. She couldn’t blame him. She had family ties with Blu, but Jersey wasn’t Blu. She was no where near as heatless or cruel. Could these dogs not see that?

After Blitz was driven off, Jersey sat and her hackles lay flat yet she was still tense with readiness. "So, if you’re not going to give me a name then give me a reason for your interference." She couldn’t care that she hadn’t been given a name. Nothing stayed secret for long and soon enough Jersey would come to know of this dog. All she had to do was wait, not too much work on her part, eh?

Calmly she locked eyes with the dog again. They were along, no back-up on either side, if I fight broke out, Jersey could easily take him. She wasnt so much worried about that, she just wanted answers, and now. Her eyes glared into the dog as she awaited a response.

Blazer narrowed his eyes as the tall dog disappeared into the shadows, he noticed the flee, and he did not blame the dog, he too was about to leave, hanging about would only preasure him into more questions, but before he could make his get away he was questioned. "I am here to stop a small war within ourselves, that is the last thing we need. All we should be doing is cooperating but I see that is hardly going to work," he replied his gaze meeting her's in a solid yet calm way. He turned in the direction of the country and started out,"I am sorry but I must leave, I hope to meet you again some day, maybe when this war is finally over," he barked over his shoulder to Jersey and he slipped into the shadows.

Jersey watched him leave with narrowed eyes. With a slight growl, Jersey turned and trotted away; Up and over the car to land neatly on the other side. Turning around her auds flattened "Cooperation can only go so far. Why deny it? The city and country are dead, no use in fighting it." she barked a reply even though she knew very well he was gone "Next time we met, you'll most likely have my fangs in your throat."

Without any other sound, Jersey took off into the shadows, life was becoming more like hell everyday in the city, soon, there would be no difference.
