I will not be accepting any 'joke' characters (i.e.: Power Rangers, Spongebob, Pringles Guy), so please refrain from posting them here. They'd be considered rubbish to me and the discussion board is a better home for them.

Only characters that have originated in a video game franchise may be accepted. I also accept all third-party characters, so please no flaming over this.

Just one question-is the Team Rocket trio of Jessie, James, and Meowth acceptable? I will compare them to Misty, who appeared both in the video games an the anime. The same goes for the Team Rocket trio, who appeared in Pokemon Yellow and Pokemon Puzzle League. Since Yellow is technically part of the mainstream Pokemon series, that would mean that this includes the Team Rocket members. Of course, I could just be rambling on about a hopeless cause, but I'd like the knowledge. ^_^

Good question Kamekguy, and thanks for bringing it up before posting a submission on them.

Since Pokémon Yellow is based off the anime series pretty much more than any other Pokémon game in the series, and Jesse and James was thrown in from the anime series, I should probably be denying their acceptance, but since the entire anime is based off the video games, I'll accept them.

Speaking of Super Smash Bros. it's very hard to tell which characters are acceptble or not.
Expecially after the existence of things like Yoda in Soul Calibur 4 or Mortal Kombat Versus DC.
Compared to that, the crossovers of Super Smash Bros. series appear almost average.
I think even these guys have a chance to be in SSB4, if the series will require a sponsor.

After all M&M's has already been the sponsor of the animated series of City Hunter.

Umm.. no, they'd both be considered 'joke' characters in my opinion. The Super Smash Bros. series is a video game for video games. Nintendo would never need to have other companies sponsor it because it's already a well known franchise that rakes in a big enough profit by itself.

Thank you for showing interest.

The answer to that question, unfortunately, is no. We're a pretty awesome community and open to ideas and inspiration and all that, but anime falls a LITTLE BIT out of our policy about posting stuff up. If you could make a good case for an anime character - say, Team Rocket from the Pokemon Anime - then it might be possible. However, if possible, we'll most likely alter the character to its closest video game form (i.e. Green from Pokemon Special to Leaf from Pokemon Leaf Green). If it's a character that we can't work out (Monkey D. Luffy, Sauske Uchiha, Dengakuman, etc.), then we probably won't be able to accept it onto the site.

However, don't let that discourage you. There are a lot of characters in video games with similar abilities or personalities that you could put in. You just have to look a little.

Also, this goes without saying, Dr. Gregory House is too awesome to be put into a Smash Bros. game.

No. They must originate from games. However, there might be some exceptions, such as Disney with Kingdom Hearts and Jessie & James with the Pokemon anime.

I would assume under the new guidelines, Gundams are okay, though I'd prefer that one not go crazy with it. But that's me...

Gundam = anime = acceptable

If you look up the series or franchise in question on wikipedia and it says "is an anime series" or something similar to that, chances are I'll accept it as an anime.

If it says something like "is an animated series", "is a comic book series", or "an epic space opera", chances are that I'll turn them down.

Just wondering, what makes anime/manga more acceptable than American/Western comics/cartoons? It's Japanese? Hmm... No real complaints, as there are tons of ideas that can be done within the guidelines...

This set needs to happen. The above question (American Cartoons versus Anime) needs discussion as well.

Personally, I'd say that if anime were being accepted, then American cartoons and comics can by all means be accepted as well. After all, western cartoons, eastern cartoons... they're all cartoons. Anime is just another word for animated flickiez. It's all good in dis hood y0. Y33. /totally and epically not gangsta at all
