 Scotch Boilers on Ships

I have checked out all ship "specks" on the "ancient" ships of both Isthmian and States Marine listed on these pages. There is no way to determine this unless I have over looked something . As a guess it may be that those ships built between 1902 and the 1920's had Scotch boilers in them. Some of you guys may have sailed ships using this type of boiler in them. Fellow Isthmian shipmates I have been going through the entire pages of both States Marine and Isthmian material. I have just read the menu of Christmas Dinner on the S.S. William M Allen. It reads like a dream. By contrast the Dinner on Winthrop L Marvin differed 180 degrees. We sailed from pier 3 Locust Point in Baltimore around supper time on the 24th.  Ames Victory

I sailed on the Ames Victory in '55 and again in '56. In reviewing the history of the States marine Shipping Co. I see no reference to it. I would like some information about it.
