yukon, that definately helps thank you. Maybe I can put to use one of those Rubi bodies I got from the 2006 give aways.

BTW, we have a plastic engraver in the shop at school. So I could do that part too.

Here's a picture of some thing I've cast in aluminum. The ashtray is a requirement for the course, so I just use it for spare change.

I'm not sure where the gold color is from (even on the quarter), but it doesn't show up like that in the first pic.

I cast the first plaque in aluminum today. It didn't turn out very well, but it does show me what I need to change in my pattern to get the casting to be a good one.

Here's the pattern:

And the casting:

It is also in raw form, no sanding/polishing, so it is fairly dull and rough. The final ones will probably be done in bronze if I can't get the aluminum to work (aluminum is not a very fluid metal, so it is harder to pour with good results).

The messy lettering is due to the sand from the mold being pulled up when I removed the pattern from the sand. So I am going to mill the letting down to reduce the chance the sand gets stuck in between the letters.

Thanks.

Although it doesn't look like it, I traced your old super truck for the body.
