Competition Guide Lines
The goal of the S.E.R.C.R.C. is to have fun, and still hold competitive events. S.E.R.C.R.C. competitions are among the largest events held anywhere so we have compiled this document in hopes that it will help clear up some confusion when attending competitions. START TIMES* 8:30….Course Design/Building 9:00….Registration/Sign-Up 9:30….Drivers Meeting 10:00….Competition Starts *may vary from event to event Course Design Courses should be designed to test all aspects of ROCK CRAWLING. Off Camber Situations, Uphill, Downhill, Climbs, Drops, Obstacle Navigation and Combinations should be included in each course design. Driver/Field Management If the number of drivers in a class is: * 12 or less = One Group * 12 to 23 = Two Groups * 24 or more=possible Three Groups Running Order Course 1: Will be in random order. If the field was split the Top 10 will be made up from the Top 5 drivers from each group, and previous scores thrown out. Running order will be the 1st place drivers from each group will in the 9th & 10th position, 2nd place driver 7th & 8th, and so on. At events where all scores are kept then 3rd course will be ran from first to worst running order. TIE BREAKER Qualifying course to get in Finals=Best score on last course ran wins. Final Course will be score on odd # gates. First the 3rd Gate, and then 5th, and so on if necessary. Course designers have the option to change tie breaker gate assignments . *Exception if its a tie for 1st Place. 1st Place ties will be decided by a crawl off that's based on the circumstances. Bonus Gates Will be timed for 1 minute, and penalties will reduce the bonus gates value. Driver Conduct · Whenever possible drivers should assist with judging, spotting for fouls, etc. · Drivers should avoid excessive talking in the course area. Disagreements with scoring/rules interpretation should be handled in as quickly as possible. If a driver has a disagreement that cannot be handled quickly he may verbally file a PROTEST, and the action will continue without further discussion. If a driver continue to disagree verbally with Judges/Scorekeepers they will receive a warning, and if it still continues a 20 Point Penalty will be given. 3 uninvolved SERCRC members that are familiar with rules will assist in resolving the PROTEST. SERCRC Local Rule All Gates must be cleared equally SERCRC Events including the Starting and Finishing gates. General It maybe necessary to vary any rules or guidelines from time to time because of changing conditions and/or unusual circumstances beyond the control of event organizers. If such a situation occurs members will be notified immediately. -------------------- COMMITMENT=not just on your day off!
