I have wanted this for along time.is there enough interest in the sercrc to run a 2.2 limited class one servo shaft driven trucks no dig 7.4 volts maxx etc... I heard that some of the GA> guys were having this at your comps . so can any/everyone chime in if they like this or not ? to make it easy this class can run the same 2.2 courses given maybee two more mins. to complete!and would fill a void for the newer guys whom have started to show up.at one comp at littel rock city a group of guys picked up there trucks and left to go play somewhere else after seing the course and the trucks. this would be a DRIVERS CLASS like the 2.2 class was at first beforeit cost more to build one that a super class truck, and would be very beginner friendly and guys could bring their stock ax 10 tamiya and could hold there own I truly feel that this would be a huge help for this sport, and face it it does need to be more friendly for the new commer. I know that we as a club are very friendly and some of the most helpfull people ever , but the actual running and competeing is kinda well the bar is very high! any one else got two cents they can spare? rcain.gif

The only problem with this is that when they get there first comp under there belt, they want to add dig. So most of these guys would only run a limited class a few times. Its hard to keep a class going like that.

I kind of agree with Alabamaman. I think the main reason that people only run a few comps before adiing a dig is because there isnt a dedicated class where they can be competative with out it. I can think of a few guys off the top of my head that dont like the current class because they have so much trouble with their digs. Plus lets face it, allot of us have enough spare parts laying aroung to almost build another crawler that would run in this class.

The 1.9 class will be similar, only smaller trucks.

Ive had to run limited forever... we have around 5-6 guys/kids run it everycomp. Like rockcrawler said, once they try it they see how retarded it is and want dig smile.gif I personally do not like the limited class, although it is more challenging, you dont nessecarily feel like your part of anything in the limited class. m2c.gif

I kinda like the limited class,if we want this to grow there has got to be a class for beginers.and all non shalft trucks can have only one dig, front or back not both.

The "limited" class doesn't have dig at all. rolleyes2.gif icon_thefinger.gif

This is the best way to get new people up and running ! OR we can keep scaring them off! We have plenty at our comps anyway.Like what now six national champs,,, like ten or more contenders... the home of the champions not a very newbie friendly place,, well no it is VERY good place to run against the best get the very best help with driving and set ups. but I do not know a stock class would be a little less intense and maybee a little more fun.. I don;t know just watching people leave with out even trying to run because they know there is no chance kinda takes some of the fun out of it. ok so then there is the 1.9 class there in another new truck to buy and start over , or convert what you have agin that is a bit pricey
I have tried if no one else agrees with me ,then I will drop it here. and thank all of you for your time . rcain.gif

We (ATL) started the Limited class back in Feb. It was supposed to be a class setup with its own courses built for a non DIG truck. The only difference between the regular 2.2 class was no Dig/Disconnect and a 60 point max. We also had a member in charge of this class (aaugman).

After the first limited comp aaugman bought a Dig system and no one else wanted to step up and run the class. So now the limited drivers run on the same courses as the 2.2 drivers. The limited drivers have no DIG and get a 60 point max.

This class was also started before the VF/DNA/CKRC/3Racing dig's where produced. To have Dig you needed an R2D or a homemade disconnect system.

Most drivers run this class 2-3 times then install a Dig system. The better Non Dig drivers pick up their truck and carry it off course once the get 40 points, if they keep driving and get the 60points the loose all hope in getting into a finals course.

Personally I don't care for the class. I think the 1.9 class would be much better suited for a limited class. Fish has a 1.9 so the SERCRC will probably run a 1.9 class if the interest is there.

The biggest problem with running multiple classes is finding people to judge/score. For every 30 drivers only 10 want to hold a clipboard for half the day.
