Title: opinions on if body is legal

Hey guys, i need your opinion on whether you think this is legal or not. I am sure most of ya'll have seen bluemonster's bug tuber. Now given that his is a tuber and as long as the tube part meets rules standards and he has a hood, roof, side panels, etc. the body doesnt matter.
My question is, if i were to cut the hood of a bug body up like he did but still retain everything else of the body, would that be legal? I never could find anything stating that the body had to be a certain length but just that it had to retain 70% of the body and the width of the cab had to stay factory specs. Bluemonster cut the window out of his, which i would keep, but i just want to know if i was to cut the hood like his, would it pass. It still looks like a bug to me

Pushing the 70% rule a bit, but it "Dosn't seem to give you an unfair advantage"
If no one else said anything i would let it go thumbsup.gif

Is your chassis a tube frame, if it is and its long enough then it doesn't matter.

no tube frame, just a chassis with some kicks B) i just need to cut the hood part of it but wanted to make sure that it would be legal before i hack up a perfectly good body

hey Kevin I pulled this from the rules ************ Vehicle must run a body that is 1/10th scale or larger. Body trimming is allowed but 70% of the original
body must be retained. Legality of a body is to be determined by the event judges. Judging guidelines are
as follows: 3” minimum height on sides. No more than 3” taken off total length. No less than 12.5” total
length and full width in the center. ( the 3" of the over all lenght part ,No less than 12.5” total
might get you ) <_<

thanks andy, yeah i just measured it and what is going to get me is the 12.5" minimum in length. I guess i have to get creative now and figure something out

:retarded: add one or two mnore tubes and it would not realy matter ,would it ?the 2.2 have, can run such small tuber chassis that there is no way ant 10th scale body (70% ) can even come close to being as small !! :retarded:

i'm not running a tuber. i was just using that as an example of what i was thinking of having to do a body but wanted to make sure that it would still be legal
