Being I have 3 TA-02's, I decided I would keep one stock for comps/crawling, use the second as a parts truck, and then customize the third as a scale looking basher/mudder. My clod's stock body had been sitting unassembled in the basement since I bought the truck new 3 years ago, so I pulled it out and sized it up with the Ta chassis. Using a combination of hummer and s-10 suspension arms, I got the wheelbase to match the body exactly. I then installed longer front body posts, and milled an aluminum plate for a rear body mount. With the body mounted, I installed the grille and other body parts. I wanted to use the clod front bumper, but I didn't like the stock mounting position- it was too low and looked out of place. I made a mount to pull it up and inward, which made it look much better IMO. I then cut the front of the body a bit and flared the fenders out a bit to gain better clearance. I locked the rear diff, but left the front open to keep some turning. I then installed a new lathe motor and esc (sealed this time :lol: ) after yesterday's little accident and took it out for another run. It performed pretty well with the addition of the lathe motor, even with the open front diff.
Let me know what you think of it, and any suggestions you have to make it look more scale. :)

looks like you brought most of the mud home with ya :lol: paint the body a primer gray and put some brown on the bottom so that it looks like rust. That'll give that ol' hell raiser look. B) just a thought. But it looks great the way it is!

I was thinking a primer gray myself, with the bumpers black. I was also contemplating hacking up the clod rollbar and using it as semi style exhaust stack coming out of the bed, or maybe as sidepipes. :huh: Then maybe get some tiny chains and wrap them around the front bumper.

I also bought a 1/18 scale Jeep CJ off ebay a while back, with the intention of using the body for the Nylint, but it was too small. I does have a jerrycan and a hilift on it though, which I may pull off and use on this. They may be a bit small though (the jerrycan is only like 7/8" tall).
