Mary(Gary)-Sue: Means a perfect character without ANY flaws. Unrealistic, and annoys many. I mean, no roleplay's going to actually go anywhere, if there are tons on blondes with perfect hair and clear blue eyes that show their souls and thoughts just yakking away on their million dollar cell phone they bought themselves in their 'to-die-for' corvets and mustangs. Right? Right.
Despies: Means a desperate, mainly in romance roleplays. Usually are really clingy in their rp-relations. Personally, I think desperates are doing that because they have no life, but that's just me. If not in romace roleplays, then they are very big attention seekers. For example, in a wolf roleplay, they'd be lying, bleeding half to death, "letting out pained moans every once in a while, while wishing they had found someone to settle down with before they died." Look! I managed to weave a bit of romance despie in it. Not much to actually be proud of, but whatever.
PowerPlay: Also called PP, Powerplaying is when one roleplayer controls another roleplayer's character. Sometimes, not only one, but multiple at a time. Usually happens in a fighting roleplay or anything with battling in it. For instance, a PPing roleplayer wouldn't give someone a chance to reply by saying, "Joe shot at Larry. Larry got shot on the shoulder, flew back and died." But, don't get too conscious about PPing so that it takes 10 posts for two people to get in a car. It's annoying for the other person, and probably nervewracking for you. ((I should start following my own advice...>>;;))
GodMode: Also refferred to as GM, GodModing is when one us Ultra Powerful, thus usuing the word 'God.' In 'Gifted' roleplays or any roleplays with powers, mind reading, future seeing, having all elements, and the ability to control the other player is considered a GodModing power. There are rare exceptions for this, such as a God/Goddess roleplay or an AngelxDemon pairing and someone is playing God or Satan. But even those have a limit, for Zeus doesn't control all elements, nor does he have the power to tell the future and read someone's mind. Even Gods need to ask for help.
List Intros: Baisically what it's called--an intro that's a list. Most people don't like them, and have their own reasons for disliking them, but you won't need to use them on this site, as you have character spots.
Literate: Okay, this one's a bit tough. Everyone has a different meaning for Literate, but it mostly means 'able to write more than three sentances per post, exeptional grammar and spelling, and are able to string sentances together while making sense.' Some add extra things, such as 'no list intros, a paragraph per post(for each character--when doubling), no one liners, give voice to character, ect.' But that's usually reserved for 'Advanced Literate,' a catagory that came out just a few months ago.
Semi-Literate: A second level, between literate and illiterate. Personally, this is where I catagorize myself, but my roleplaying abilities always waver from side to side, depending on my mood. It's different for everyone. An average description most use: ability to spelll and use good grammar, at least two sentances per post, characters are thought out.' But these descriptions aren't set in stone. Like I said, everyone's opinion is different.
Illiterate: The 'lowest' form of roleplaying. I don't like using this term, but we must do things we don't like every once in a while. Most 'Illiterates' use PP, GM, have Sues or Despies, use chatspeak, (1337speak), almost always use oneliners, and haven't given their characters much thought. It isn't the exact description for an illiterate, but--just in case--I'll repeat what I said before. Everyone's opinion on what it is is different. Don't come running to me when someone calls you semi-literate, then illiterate.
I think that's it. More added as thought of.
