Lirael left the wind upon which she was travelling in and became her normal solid form again. It was the middle of night and the sky was of a clear, the stars were twinkling in their beds, full of light and glimmer. They reminded Lirael of the scales from the fish in the springs, shining in the sunlight. The sky was of a deep midnight blue of which the stars were embedded in. The Moon stood out of the night as a huge luminous sphere high in the horizon. It seemed as if it was gazing out over the land over which it shone, casting it's light to aid all night travellers. Lirael sat upon a soft bed of earth, the earth warm upon the pads of her paws. She gazed out at the night, her dark orbs lighted up by the Moon's light within them.
