OOC: smile.gif sorry for this but after all its a RPG game so don't be mad at me for this CMP! wink.gif

IC:

Colleagues,

It is unusual for me to be present at the House of Representatives because I only need to be here to report when promises that have been made, are not being fulfilled. Me, as Head of the Government am responsible for every Minister in the Cabinet, so I have to make sure that everybody does his job the way they are meant to be!

In the government coalition of 2143 there is a clause concerning our international relations, clearly addressed to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs - I quote: "I. The government coalition of 2143 promises the State to develop and extend to
a noticeable result, the Nation's international relationship(s)" So far, no progress or even an intention to, has been made.

With all due respect, concerning this matter I have no choice but to put the Minster of Foreign Affair, Mister Judah Benjamin on the carpet and we hope that he comes with an explanation very soon.

Thank you in advance,

Regards
General Secretary of the Cabinet

*Judah Benjamin walked to the central podium and adjusted the microphone.*

Honourable Colleagues,

I apologize that the government feels that we have not been accomplishing our stated goals. I would like to offer an explanation for this. When I assumed control of the foriegn ministry, the nation had no clear foreign affairs agenda. I did not believe it was in my authority to create such an agenda or unilaterally pursue foreign treaties without approval of the National Forum. Therefore I asked for input from all parties on what they would like to see accomplished in the realm of foreign affairs. Only one party, our colleagues the LRP, responded. The LRP's proposal is still being analyzed by my staff in the foreign affairs ministry. Other than this one proposal, though, no direction or aid has been given to the foreign ministry by the government, the National Forum, nor any other political party in Rildanor. I submit, colleagues, that the fault is not entirely my own.

*the Minister waited for reponse from the floor.*

OOC: Plus, we had a holiday here in the U.S. and I had a paper to write and a speech to prepare for school. tongue.gif

OOC: excuse will do... cool.gif success with the paper!!

*Response of Mister Lee Schaubroeck*

Mister Judah Benjamin,

Thank you for your comment, I do respect your way of acting in a manner to ask for every party's opinion when it comes to foreign affairs but I do not think it is the most productive way. Instead of asking others for there ideas we propose that you come up with ideas of your own and as your coalition partner we will support and comment that when needed, other parties of the National Forum just have to vote. Don't take this the wrong way but I guess and my fraction supports my opinion that other political parties already made some ideas for foreign relations but those will only be relevant when they become minister of their own, so they propably won't tell you their point of views *laughs modestly*.

Again, thank you for your quick response Mister Benjamin.

You have a good day!

Regards.

*The two members of the Royal Family and Aristocracy start to heckle and jeer. The party leader, Prince Alexius, stands and shouts:*

The Foreign Affairs minister have failed to perform their task. We demand he step down and a new Coalition be formed!

Lee Schaubroeck: It is unappropriate, You Highness, that a member of the Royal Family speaks in public like that and especially in that kind of manner. It is clear and can be derived from your words that the press is not at present today.
