Hear ye, hear ye!

There be a ship in port by the name o' The Siren. She's full o' mystery an' wonder, howe'er is also a herald for superstition.

Aboard this here vessel be a lady cap'n. Tha's right, a lady. Cap'n Swift, white as a soul from Davy Jones' locker, is lookin' fer a crew to sail the seas for a bout of honest piratin'. The requirements to sign on with the She-Devil? Ye must be female.

If ye be one to follow the superstitions, then ye better turn hide and scurry off. Fer this here ship will have no men aboard. There ain't nothin' in all the seas unluckier than a woman on board, so a ship full o' lasses shan't be easy-goin'.

Now, Cap'n Swift won't be havin' any sissy-footed girlies aboard her ship. Ye best have experience on the waters or be willin' to learn and learn quickly.

Are you up to the challenge of bein' a lady pirate? What trials await those who sign with the She-Devil?

There be only one way to know fer sure…

This is where we can discuss the happenings of Lady Pirates!

Now, so far we have:

1 Admin--Me
2 Co-Admins--Sarah and Monday Thrush

1 Mod--Captain Jack

1 Graphic Designer--Also Monday Thrush

Everything looks good to me! So before I dive into what needs to be done, I have to leave for a dentist appointment, what are your thoughts?

I think that brainstorming the plot would be best, the board name might pop up while writing it. I already suggested the superstition of women being bad luck on a ship.

Plot discussion is a good start. Let me try, key word try, and give a brief synopsis of what I'm thinking. Please bear with me, because I just took two Tylenol...^^;

It all starts with my character, Captain Scarlet Swift. I'm not going to go into full detail about her past because it would take me too long to type it out, but basically her mother was the village prostitue, so her biological father remains a mystery. Now I thought this was very unique, Scarlet was born an albino, so she was obviously teased and ridiculed. It didn't help that her mother failed as a parent. So, her childhood was basically a nightmare. When she was about 12 her mother died, I'm not sure how yet...I'm thinking that Scarlet may have killed her, on accident of course. With nobody else to hang on to, she left and ended up living on the streets. That lasted for about a year and one day some Captain of a British Navy ship found her sleeping in some ally. He assumed she was a boy, because she hacked her hair off, and after some talking he offered her a position on his ship. That lasted for about another year, until the generous Captain that had been so nice to Scarlet was killed. Another man took over and he quickly discovered that she was, indeed, a female. Well, the new guy is extremely p.o'ed because she had been lying all this time. He's going to try and have her executed, but Scarlet manages to escape.

Now, I haven't thought of what's going to happen after that, maybe she joins a pirate ship...or not, I don't know. But, ten or so years later...she's going to be walking on some beach and notice a body on the shore. It turns out to be an injured pirate who is on the verge of death. He manages to say that he stashed his ship in a cove nearby, and then he dies. Well, Scarlet goes to check it out and she decides to start her own crew of female renegade pirates.

Hey, renegade...interesting word. Maybe that could be used.

Oh, anyways...that's about it. What do you think of my baby plot-let so far?

It's great, and I understand the need to for the captain to be in the center. But, just as a reminder, try not to make a plot surrounding a limited number of characters, when people join they won't want to be left out right?

And you might want to check your emotes soon, I'm uploading them right now. wink.gif

EDIT
It might also help to know what year it is at the least.

Oh, I know. The Captain just gets things started, that's all. The other characters are just as important. They can have their own mini sub-plots and such if they will. I don't want my character to be the center of everything, I would feel bad...^^;

Lol, in fact, the Captain is hardly ever going to come out of her cabin with the exception for battles or other important occasions. I thought that since she's an albion, she would't want to be seen all that much. So, she's going to have someone else to relay her messages and orders (Elle Errington). Every character has a purpose. So, it's all good!

Even though there is already a story going, I would actually like the lady pirates to have some sort of mission/quest thing, besides ransacking towns and stealing valubles. It would make things more fun. I was even considering having another ship, either a British navy or another Pirate one, after them.

Ok, I'll keep a watchful eye!

EDIT: Ack, they're cute! %5E_%5E.gif

The ships following them might work. I can't think of much else that could happen, I wrote a story a while back about a pirate ship, but I'm afraid it'd limit the amount of people. Sorry I'm kinda slow today.

You and me both...

I added the date, I can't believe I forgot to do that. Meh.

Renegade Souls...random idea.

Let's put the major plot planning on the back burner for now. Let's talk about how we're going to set this up. Obviously, we need more forums.

EDIT: Oh, I also plan on having, like, a forum dedicated to pirate history. This way people who don't have a whole lot of knowledge on them can easily look things up. Maybe diagrams on ships with labled parts, a topic of sea terms, ect.

Well there should be some town, villages, islands etc. My question is how we'll keep people on the ship, they can't all be running around everywhere, shopping, looting. There has to be some sort of order.

As for the forum, I think it'll work as a sub forum in plots link you have it. It's a good idea, it'll help avoid confusion.

Yes, those are a must. I need to do some research to find actual places and names.

And, I agree about keeping the characters on the ship. I think we can just put some sort of notice up, like maybe in the welcome box, saying that the ship is currently out to sea. Then when whatever needs to be done is completed, we can update the notice saying the ship has docked in whatever town/island. That make sense?

Yes that seems suitable, because they'll be spending some time on the ship, it should have a couple places, such as upper deck, cabins, storage, so on.... areas that ships have.

And people can be on the ship anytime, but have to stay in the confines of the ship and wherever it's docked, right?

Yep, sounds about right.

Now, I just need to decide on the actual ship name. I think I'm pretty set on the She-Devil, but I'm not sure.

I'll put those on my list so Sarah can take a look and give some imput.

I just updated the rules, they're more organized and detailed now. By the way, I like the new markers! Very nice.

I kind of want an affiliate box. Hmm...I'll have to go look for a code...

Thank you, The rules are nicely set up as well.

EDIT
I'll be making the pips tomorrow hopefully, but I need to know what will the rankings be. I.E. villager, captain, cook, runner, so on

It doesn't have to be those though.
