A tall and lanky wolf trotted into the area in a bouncing manner. His crème fur set nicely against the gray fur that looked slightly blue on his pelt. He smelled two lupes, and blood. He stopped, frowning. Scenting the air once more, he discovered something else. A brute and a fae. Now, they were either in a fight, or were pack mates and had fought together against another wolf. He hoped it be the second, for he found it not right to fight against a fae, unless certain circumstances permitted.

He came out of the foliage and frowned at what he saw. A colorful brute was pinning down a pregnant fae. “Cher pacan!”(*) He whispered under his breath Do he know what damage he can do dere? He wondered. His defense automatically went for the lady. His hackles raised and a snarl came to his lips as his long pillars extended forward to touch the ground and bring him back to earth from the leap he had just made.

“Leave da lady be.” He said in a slow growl. “Let her go, and leaf to wherever it be dat you comed from you twat!” He said in his thick Cajun accent. Would this brute abide by the brute with the strange language? Cajyn waited, to see if he dared not comply with him.

((OOC: *Cher pacan = an exclamatory word of disbelief, amazement and so forth.))

Since only the sun and moon made light, I have known you. I watched you from the once vast, impenetrable forest. I was witness as you discovered fire and strange tools. From ridges, I watched you hunt, and envied your kills. I have eaten your scarps. You have eaten mine.

I have heard you songs and watched your dancing shadows around bright fires. In a time so distant that I can barely remember, some of us joined you to sit near those fires. We became part of your packs, joined in your hunts, protected your pups, helped you, feared you, loved you.

We have existed a long time together. We were much alike. It is why the tame ones adopted you. Some of you, I know, respected me, the wild one. I am a good hunter. I respected you, too. You were a good hunter. I would see you hunt in a pack with the tame ones and catch meat.

There was always plenty. Then there were few of you. Then the woods was big. We howled to the tame ones at night. Some came back to hunt with us. Some we ate, for they had become very strange. It was this way for a long time. It was a good way.

Sometimes I would steal from you, as you did from me. Do you remember when you were starving and the snow was deep and you ate the meat we killed? It was a game. It was a dept. some might call it a promise.

Like many of the tame ones, most of you have become very strange. Now I do not recognize some of the tame ones. Now I do not recognize some of you. We were once so much alike. You made the meat tame, too. When I began to hunt your tame meat (they are foolish creatures and do not honor death, but the wild meat was gone), you hunted me. I do not understand. When your packs grew larger and fought among themselves, I saw. I watched your great battles. I feasted on those you left behind. Then you hunted me more. I do not understand. They were meat. You killed them.

We wild ones are now very few. You made the woods small. You have killed many of us. But I still hunt, and I feed our hidden pups. I always will. I wonder if the tame ones who live with you made a good choice. They have lost the spirit to live in the wild. They are many, but they are strange. We are few. I still watch you, too, so I can avoid you.

I do not think I know you any longer.

Maui started as he heard a snarl. He looked to the left and saw a tall brute leap out towards Ra’an and he. Darn my luck! It would be as I’m trying to talk to her that a heroic wolf would come to her aide. He thought grimly. Then the growling brute spoke, and Maui was surprised. He had a very thick accent…but from where? Tawt? He wondered what the heck that meant, and cocked a brow at him. He cast a worried look towards Ra’an and moved away from her, including out of her lunging reach.

“There.” He snorted. What would happen now?

((OCC: Sorry it took me so long! Today was the last day of school and so I am back in biznis! wooT!))

The red wolfess jammed her pointy rear into that of her holder, and this thrust knocked him off balance for a few seconds, just long enough to set her free… and flying in the wrong direction: backwards. She rose up on her hind legs to try and compensate for her own loss of balance and the force of her momentum, but to no prevail. She fell backwards upon her back with such great force that the retinas of one of the underdeveloped pups were knocked loose, and forever he would be somewhat blind yet somehow able to see. For herself, the world went black and splotchy as the air was knocked unwillingly out of her lungs and tried to rush back inside them. She gasped for air in instinctive want for life. As she gasped something else but a hamper on her breath, Maui. His mouth put a clamp around her throat so that she could hardly breathe and had not yet recuperated from the falling. She gasped and struggled, but to no avail. As her world began to fade, he snarled out some unintelligible words, though she did catch those last words, you and you alone . She wanted to cry, not only for help, but out of loneliness. Had he not… begotten her, she might have kicked his arse already, but now she wasn’t going to be able to…

As her world began to recede into darkness and her thoughts to those of a lonely life a handsome young knight in crème armor rushed forth to save the day, though while he did so she was hardly conscious. She felt the jaws loosening, her trachea re-opening, and air, delicious air, rushed into her lungs. She lay there for a moment, letting the delightful life gas find its way in. Then she stood, her slightly swollen belly, bloody wounds, and fear evident. What was happening? Was there another where Maui came form? She tensed up, but her muscled were still weak and so she collapsed onto the ground, her knees giving way. Too much stress was her qualm, for never could too much physical activity bother her.

She looked out and noted a finely sculpted male standing defensively, facing Maui, though that meant he was also opposite of herself. She stood up again, her body taking every note of every little hurt she had endured; now, at the end of the battle she was falling apart. But that is how fights always went with her, and why Johan always won his own. She looked at the new male, pain showing in her eyes, and wondered whose side he was on. She scooted/drug herself further away from Maui, though this wasn’t so far, since breathing hurt. She though of her brother, and then became inspired.

She stood back up, tall and majestic as possible, the image of the noble savage, and growled at Maui. Now she had two wolves on her land, she had to do something. They were most likely much stronger than her, combined of course, and much bigger. She panted a few seconds and then said “ Who are you, Sir? Why are you here, on my lands? ” She then braced herself and raised her hackles, not really knowing what to do. She turned to Maui:

What kind of jerk are you? You… make me pregnant and then continue trying to kill me? What kind of father would you make, you worthless scumbag? You tried to kill me, like literally! Me, the mother of your worthless pups! How can I know what to do with them? Shouldn’t you have asked? I mean, do I look like mother material to you? I think not! These pups will die because of your poor judgment! ” she screamed, tears of anger and sadness flowing down her cheeks. She was stressed, pregnant, and alone in the world. She didn’t know how to raise pups, and she had no helping paws to teach her…

She turned away for a moment and put her left front paw over her face, to hide the fact that she was crying. She did this because her brother had proclaimed it a sign of weakness and so picked on her whenever she cried. Her sides heaved for a few seconds before she fell down into a laying position, her face covered. She didn’t know what to do, and she had no one to show her a way to a better ending.

Maui looked with hatred and loathing towards Ra’an, but love and concern to the unborn pups. She edged away from him and then stood, growling. He grinned as she spoke snidely to the new wolf, and gave him a look along the lines of: “Beat-it-she-doesn’t-want-you-here-either.” He turned his gaze to Ra’an as she turned to him, and glowered.

He roared in absolute fury. “I am NOT tying to kill you, Ra’an! I never tried to kill you! And what kind of mother will you make? I would be a fine father, if the mother would permit it. I highly doubt you will though. Besides, faes are supposed to have that ‘motherly instinct’! And I[ didn’t make the choice. If at all possible, I would not have. Besides, it wasn’t like you objected more than I did! He snarled.

He watched as she turned, and put a paw over her visage. Her already enlarged sides heaved. He sat down, angered and fuming. He had practically won. He scoffed and walked into the trees, instantly disappearing as his body was engulfed in the shadows cast. A few minutes later, he came out down the shoreline, something brown and white in his grasp. His orbs glinted and he smirked through the changing fur. He took off down the beach, determined to find away across.

After a bit of running, he came across the bridge, and once crossed, was in Kazuo’s lands once more.

~Maui has left~

Cajyn watched as the battered fae stood. He swung his head and glared at Maui. As she collapsed to the ground, Cajyn strode towards her caringly. He felt bad for her as she looked at him, and he whimpered sympathy to her. He watched in amazement as she stood back up and growled at the attacker. Now dat be a brave, fae. He thought to himself. He cocked his head in confusion as she spoke to him. Not really how he was used to being addressed if he had helped somebody.

She screamed at the colorful brute, and then turned and cried. Cajyn felt absolutely terrible for her. He whirled around and snarled ferociously at Maui before he left, as he sat there coolly. “How dare you, worthless twat!” He snarled and then turned to Ra’an. He went near her cautiously. “I cam to your lands in search of a pack, and found dat brute standin’ over ya. I tought to meself, now dat ain’t right, sos I helped ya out. But ifins I ain’t wanted ‘ere, den I be takin’ my leaf now Miss.” He said respectfully.

The next thing he knew, he saw Maui far down the lake shore, with a rabbit in his grasp. Good for nuthin’ Loon.” He thought bitterly, and had mind to chase after him, but the brute took off helter-skelter and was gone before Cajyn’s legs could spring into action. Now, he waits for the lady’s response.

Ra'an's feelings were crumbled into dust as Maui continued chewing on her, stateing that she would not make an acceptable mother, but he would make an exceptional father. She growled at him, her curled lip still damp from tears. Her eyes were red and swollen and her pride was broken, but she would not give in to the feelings that threatened to overwhealm her. Could I have rejected? Was there a way? Why don't you control youself a little better, you jerk! And speaking of your fatherly-ness, your not showing too well of an example of your expertise, running away from your unborn pups!

Ra'an stood, her legs shaking from nerves, stress, as well as exhaustion. She looked to that fellow, the one with an accent so strong she could hardly make out his words, but the meaning was clear in his gentle voice. Her eyes looked into his, gratefulness shining within them.

Thank you, good sir. You are greatly appreciated... you've saved my life! How could I ever drive you away? I am sorry for my... temper, you can see why I was so angry. If yoiu wish to enter this pack, I am the only member, you may. I would be very greatful, as well as my pups... I hope that none of them are hurt...

She wagged her tail, her entire demenor changed from angry, fighting beast to loving, playful Ra'an. She smiled, a puplike smile, and walked towards the newfellow, her face calmed. My name is Ra'an, my savior. What is your name? Would you care to help me? I belive I have pups on the way... SHe looked sheepishly toher feet, wondering what to do. Talk about an awkward situation!

((OCC: Sorry its so short! I am working on the site, but if you haven't figured that out yet, well, now you know! Thanks for bearing with me!))

Cajyn smiled as the fae stood, no matter how shaky it was. As her eyes met his, they were full of appreciation, but he soon averted his gaze out of respect for her position and authority. He nodded in response. He looked back up when she began to speak, and focused his gaze intently upon the wound that was from the beginning of the fight with Maui. He answered the first part of her vocals. “M’lady, tank you fur such praise. I’d be surprised if you wasn’t angry after som’thin like dat.” He smiled and wagged his tassle as well. He liked this persona much better than the one that he had come in upon.

“My name be Cajyn and I’d love ta help ya out.” He smiled as she looked down at her paws. “I’d be more dan ‘onored ta join thisin here pack Miss Ra’an. May I be seated?” He said and then asked with a cocked head. He hoped that she would allow him to sit and be accepted into the pack. He had been alone for so long…he somewhat yearned for accepting company. For even when he lived back home in the swamp, he had lived near others that he was friendly with. However, ever since the blasted humans had captured him, he had had no friends or civil acquaintances.

Ra’an smiled as the wolf lowered his gaze in what she took to be a manner of respect. She was rather impressed with herself for cutting such an impressive image to make him bow his eyes. True, she was covered in blood, both hers and Maui’s, gaping wounds diverted the natural flow of her long pelt, making her appear to have stripes and such, her head was pulled upward in an alert position, ears forward and mouth smiling and she was pregnant. She nodded to him, bashful of such respect that she didn’t feel that she yet deserved.

Really, Cajyn, I am really hard to anger. That monster stole one of my cute bunnies and is taking it to his leader, a cruel wolfess with no heart and a scheming mind. She said with a sly grin on her face. She wasn’t going to add that the before mentioned was also her eldest sibling, her sister Kazuo. He is trying to be accepted I suppose. But I don’t think tasks are really all that helpful in gaining my trust. All they seem to do is drive others away. You may join this pack; I have named it the Fiatel, the playful, and I would appreciate your membership. You will be a subordinate for now, I hope you don’t mind. Oh yes, you may be at ease. She said, her face leaving the sly smile and returning to a playful grin filled with genuine happiness.

Ra’an limped to her left, seeking a comfortable spot to settle down. Finding one she lay down, pondering over her future pups. What would become of them? Would they be evil like their father or kind like their mother? Or would they simply be off-the-wall personalities? Had one of them been injured in the fight? Would Maui try to kidnap them? She shook such thoughts from her mind, instead wondering what she was supposed to do. Her stomach felt like it was squirming, as though they were inside her and conscious, trying to dig their way out. She sighed and looked to her belly, quite swollen and rotund. Her stomach growled, for she was hungry, but in no condition to hunt. She was too shy to ask her newest member to hunt for her, but maybe he would take a hint. She wasn’t lying far from him after all, and pack members ought to be able to accurately read one another. She looked off towards the tree-line, watching the shadows lengthen in the slowly dying daylight.

Cajyn listened with interest. “Now stealin’ dun be good ifn dey demsefls have their own food to prey ‘pon.” He frowned. He gratefully sat down as she allowed him to. “I’m glad to be in da Fiatel.” The tall brute said, giving his own twang to the word. He smiled as he sat there. “Sub-ordinate is fine wit me Ma’am.” His tassle beat on the ground a little bit with contentment. A look of thought came over him. He looked up to Ra’an.

She had limped away and lay down at one spot. He snorted. “Ifn you dun mind me askin’…is he da daddy of dem dere pups?” He inclined his crania towards her bulging belly. The Alphess sighed and looked at the swell, and Cajyn pricked his auds as a sound met them. It was one that his stomach made when he was hungry, but it wasn’t his…oh! Cajyn felt very dull and then went into the tree-line silently.

He returned a few moments later, banner happily flowing behind him. In his clutch, two squirrels. He pranced over to the soon-to-be-mother and placed both of them before her. “Fur you.” He said and then backed up a little bit and lay down himself, head in between his two front legs which were splayed to each side. His orbs blinked lightly, and he wondered what would happen now.

Ra’an smiled when Cajyn expressed his dislike of those who stole unnecessarily, for she felt the same, just with different wording. “ Oh yes, his lands have plenty of food, however foul it may seem to us, it is delightful to them. I don’t really care for swamp rats myself, but their leader quite enjoys them.” She frowned slightly, wrinkling her nose when she mentioned the rats. Ra’an was somewhat of a picky eater for the wolven world, but she’d eat whatever when she was hungry enough, and she was quite hungry. She smiled graciously when he intoned that he was very happy to join her pack, and mentioned his agreement with his new rank. She then made her way to where she currently lays.

Once there she sat a moment, getting comfortable despite the movement of the pups quickly growing within her womb and the thoughts that lingered in her mind with a dull bite. Cajyn then asked her about Maui’s position with the pups, Instantly Ra’an blushed, deeply and noticeable within her tan cheeks. She nodded quickly, her throat clogged with a limp that she could not clear. She looked somewhat sadly down at her belly, wondering when the pups would come, how they would do so, and what she would do. She’d never seen a wolfess have pups in her life, and didn’t have any clue as to what happened. Her stomach rumbled more than quietly, and she looked to the tree line, wondering if her newest member would take the hint about her incapacitated condition. He did, leaving for a short time and then returning with two squirrels.

Ra’an acted completely surprised, very happy, and extremely thankful upon his return and his kind words. “ Oh, thank you, Cajyn! I am quite glad you can hunt well, because I cannot right now! Would you like to be a hunter? Your abilities must be quite profound if it took you so little time to catch both of those squirrels and bring them back. I couldn’t get them so fast, especially tree-climbers. ” She giggled lightly, her stomach purring in content as she began to eat the freshly killed squirrels. As she ate she passed kind glances towards Cajyn, noting his colors and his physical status, liking what she saw. He will be a good, strong packmember, one that I am most fortunate to have on my side. Also he is brave and that is never a thing to underestimate in a strong fellow who will defend those in trouble. Kazuo beware, send your members here and you will have a force to be reckoned with against you. I too will face you, though after the pups are born and not before. Just as she thought that her stomach tightened, a harsh sting that caused her to look most pained and signaled the beginning of her birthing labors. It was not near time yet, but the time was growing closer with each passing minute.

Cajyn made an awkward face as she mentioned swamp rats. “Dey ain’t de most delec-table tings in da world.” He said, spoken with experience on the matter. He snorted as she confirmed with a blush that Maui was the father. A deep growl came from within his throat. “Well he done gogo-ed and bed da wrong Alphess.” He said crossly. His tassle lashed at his hind pillars and he glared away in the direction that the brute had taken. The way he saw it, a brute shouldn’t leave a fae he impregnated like that. It was just wrong. He smiled broadly as Ra’an accepted his gift of prey.

He wagged his tasle. “Aw, now Miz Ra’an. It twas nothing really.” He cocked his head and thought as he reclined to his haunches. “Methinks that I’d like ta be a Hunter.” He said. He looked at her belly as it seemed that a rippling contraction crossed it. A look of concern crossed his face and he threw a worried glance to Ra’an. He asked a question without even voicing his worries.
