And so there was a deer, a great Elk, a monstrocity of prey, with long curving antlers, shaggy fur, and a chilling call that sends even the most steel of heart to chills. He stands a good tall height of around horse size, maybe fifteen hands, nice and tall, with good sinewy muscle and thick, red meat. HIs bones are good and solid and they serve him well, keeping him away from any danger, though the danger of a wolf pack may prove to be his downfall. His progeny will keep the line going, for they too are young and brave of heart.
The elk lets loose a shrill whistle, warning other deer to stay out of his terratory and to leave all floiage and ladies to him. He browses gently, ears on alert for the sounds of approaching deer, though not for those wolves that he has seen around once or twice, his nose lifts scent from the wind and identifies each little smell, noting the fact that he is upwind from many angles. He chews slowly, savoring the meal that may be his last. Any meal might be his last, but he treats them all the same. And so he eats, elegant and monstrous in one time of existance.

A pure white form trotted in a bouncy manner through his terra. He had been the only wolf of Schola for some time now, but it wasn’t like he cared or anything. He suspected that all of the loners were just intimidated by his intellect and were afraid to stand in his presence. He was greater than they. In his mind and orbs anyway. He wasn’t hungry; a lovely rabbit had recently satisfied his hunger pains. A shrill whistle came to his auds, making his rough, bouncy gait halt and auds prick forwards as he looked around.
A mighty elk came to his view, and a giddy grin came to his maw. He began to move towards the animal of prey, but knew that it wouldn’t fear him. They knew when wolves were on the hunt and when they weren’t. He cautiously approached upon further treading near…the beast was a lot larger than it looked from where he formerly stood. “Great beast. Do you know the lands in which you snack and dwell upon?” Yes, Daedan spoke to the elk. The poor beast was probably in for one of the white brute’s egotistical speeches about his greatness that hardly was there. He sat down easily and stared at the grass a moment…grass was so interesting.

The great Elk known to his ilk as Rohirrim Joe looked about skeptically as a hunter colored like the snow of winter trotted towards him. He cocked his massive skull and watched the thing as it started making sounds at him. He watched the thing as it made the sounds, how its tongue flapped and its jaws opened and closed. It wasn’t a pretty sound, but the great elk wondered whether he too could make these sounds. He tried, and failed. The only sound that escaped his jaws was a wavering whistle that hurt his ears. They flattened and he shifted his weight, wondering if that sound might have stirred the predator to hunting mode, though he was alone and Rohirrim was a strapping, healthy young buck. He snorted in discouragement, but wanted to hear the inane canine make more sounds so that he might imitate them and laugh at them to one of his mates. But it didn’t look promising, as the creature was gazing intently at the grass. He walked forward and, acting quickly, nudged it gently (or what he thought was gently) and tapped his front hooves impatiently before backing up again and gazing at him with the appearance of an eager onlooker, which he was.

Daedan chuckled as the elk had tried to imitate him, a shrill whistle passing its vocals and filling the area. He pinned his auds back from the sound. “Surely you needn’t make such a loud and ob-nox-ious noise. I mean, close up it really isn’t all dat appeal-ing.” He said with the flick of his tassle. As he stared at the grass, he was nearly bowled over by something shoving his shoulder. With a surprised squeak, Daedan stumbled sideways, his legs tangling into a pretzeled mass of lupine legs though he managed to stay on his paws.
He looked up accusingly and found…a grand elk standing there! Daedan smiled in a sidelong fashion, with his head cocked to one side, his pink lolling to the left side of his face and his black orbs glinting like a pup’s. “Wow, you’ve some strength there me friend!” He said as he stood to his paws and spread his legs in a playful manner. “What do you say to a romp? Even though I may own dese lands and be Alpha, I may as well be a loner seeing as not a soul steps onto da lands.” He said a little bit forlornly.
He blinked. “And it seems tat you are in need of company as well, so let us not dwell on that but rather romp!” He said and leapt backwards, landing with his back end waving in the air and his front pressed to the ground, a playful expression plastered on his white visage. A playful yip passed his maw, beckoning the elk to play with him.
