An average sized brute from the swamps of Louisiana trotted through the cold boggy waters. He liked it here. The knarled roots of trees, dead moss dangling from tree branches and slim in the water was peace to him. He stood on a squishy bank and shook, pillars freezing with the droplets of murky water still stuck to them. He wondered if there were any other wolves daring enough to join him in the bog, for he was used to it.
He scented others, packs that is. He didn't feel like going to a pack at the moment, actually, he'd been a loner his whole life. He urged for the presence of another wolf though, for he hadn't seen a real one in quite some time. Sure, he had been in the zoo for a while, but they weren't real to him. For Cajyn lives by the law of the forest. Kill or be killed, eat or be eaten.
He raised his maw and howled, it was a howl to any loners or even any pack wolves that might want to come join a brute like himself for a chat or perhaps develop a friendship. "'Allo to any wolfs out dere dat wanna come meet somewolf such as da likes o' me! I be in some swampy lands...come and find me. Eiyee!"

I was witness as you discovered fire and strange tools. From ridges, I watched you hunt, and envied your kills. I have eaten your scarps. You have eaten mine.
I have heard you songs and watched your dancing shadows around bright fires. In a time so distant that I can barely remember, some of us joined you to sit near those fires. We became part of your packs, joined in your hunts, protected your pups, helped you, feared you, loved you.
We have existed a long time together. We were much alike. It is why the tame ones adopted you. Some of you, I know, respected me, the wild one. I am a good hunter. I respected you, too. You were a good hunter. I would see you hunt in a pack with the tame ones and catch meat.
There was always plenty. Then there were few of you. Then the woods was big. We howled to the tame ones at night. Some came back to hunt with us. Some we ate, for they had become very strange. It was this way for a long time. It was a good way.
Sometimes I would steal from you, as you did from me. Do you remember when you were starving and the snow was deep and you ate the meat we killed? It was a game. It was a dept. some might call it a promise.
Like many of the tame ones, most of you have become very strange. Now I do not recognize some of the tame ones. Now I do not recognize some of you. We were once so much alike. You made the meat tame, too. When I began to hunt your tame meat (they are foolish creatures and do not honor death, but the wild meat was gone), you hunted me. I do not understand. When your packs grew larger and fought among themselves, I saw. I watched your great battles. I feasted on those you left behind. Then you hunted me more. I do not understand. They were meat. You killed them.
We wild ones are now very few. You made the woods small. You have killed many of us. But I still hunt, and I feed our hidden pups. I always will. I wonder if the tame ones who live with you made a good choice. They have lost the spirit to live in the wild. They are many, but they are strange. We are few. I still watch you, too, so I can avoid you.
I do not think I know you any longer.

A fae of average frame trotted through the cold murky waters. What idiot would be in here like this? Good thing he howled. She thought to herself. She had heard the howl of a brute with a thick accent. She hated these cold nasty waters, murky and you can't even see your paws when they are under five inches of water. Disgusting.
She trotted at a quicker pace and spotted a dark gray and creme' colored brute. She narrowed her orbs and went to him. "Well here I am Mister, stand-in-freezing-swamp-waters. Let's get out of here. No sane wolf would be in this place right now." She scoffed. "By the way, name's Hazy. What's yours?" She shook her crania and sloshed over as some Spanish Moss tickled her aud.
This place was really creepy. What if this brute just wanted someone to kill...what had she gotten herself into then? Oh well, she would fight him; just like she had every other wolf that tried funyn crap with her. She would be prepared for anything.

Cajyn looked in the direction of sloshing water and saw a fae coming his direction. So there were other loners! Cajyn frowned. She had quite an attitude didn't she? []"I be fully sane, dank you. I'm Cajyn." He smirked as the fae shied away from some dangling moss. "Look to me like you don like dat mowss too muches." He chuckled.
He was fine in the freezing swamp waters, and didn't feel that he needed to be rescued. "I ain't no fae damsel in distress. What you come in herr tryin' to be all rescuer-like? I am used to da swamp. I be from Louisiana." He puffed out his chest a little, obviously proud of his heritage.
"Come now Miz Hazy. Once ya git used to it, it tain't all dat bad, now is it?" He asked her, crania cocked to one side. He trotted over, in a high-stepping fashion, to a large, hollowed out weeping willow. The hollow was managing to be on a mound of semi-dry-ness and Cayjn flopped down comfortably. "Make yerself comfy, Miz Hazy."

Hazy looked to the Louisiananian brute skeptically. Sometimes, she could barely understand what he was trying to say without processing it through her mind a few times. "Fine...Cajyn." Gee, what a fitting name She frowned as the brute proceeded to tease her about the moss-scare.
"I don't care where you are from. It's madness in here. It is that bad." She said scornfully. She looked distastefully at the brute but trotted towards him, night was beginning to fall after all. She got kinda close, but far enough way for her taste and curled up to sleep.

Cajyn awoke and yawned rather noisilly and blinked against the cold morning sun. He looked over and saw Hazy curled up as tight as possible beside him and grinned. "Mornin' Miz Hazy. How did da night treat ya?" He stood and shook the sleep away from him. He trotted into the sloshy swamp water, again muddying his paws. The ghost shrimp squibbled ((OOC: yes I made that word.BIC)) out of his way hastily.
He turned around and dipped his head to Hazy. "Well, I be gettin' 'long now. Can't truely stay 'n one place long. See ya 'round Miz Hazy!" With that, Cajyn headed away from the swamp towards any packlands he happened to roam across. Which one would it be? Who knows? Not even Cajyn...

((OOC: Sorry!))
BIC:
Hazy awoke with repulsion as the brute near her was noisy as everything. "Morning yourself. Fine enough I suppose." She replied. She watched the brute wade through the nasty waters and then he spoke again.
"Well, I be gettin' 'long now. Can't truely stay 'n one place long. See ya 'round Miz Hazy!"
She grinned as he left, he was an amusing character. She too, must be on her way and departed.
