I find it extremely difficult to find this web site even when I google,"REBT Workshop and Discussion Forum" I believe one of the main reasons we do not get more participants on the web sites is because people cannot find what they want. I think it would be a great help if there were many cross references with the main central location about Albert Ellis being at the REBT Network--Albert Ellis web site listed under features and then everyone contributing to keeping the information up to date

Dennis,

I'll see if I can do anything to get this forum rearranged into one that is more apparently a current discussion forum. Seeing that I don't know the webmaster, it will be a hit and miss affair. If anyone out there does know the webmaster, will you contact him and ask him to email me through this website? Thanks.

Dennis,

Thanks to your gentle nudging, links to the discussion thread on this forum have been added to REBTnetwork.org and albert-ellis-friends.net

We'll try to find other ways to get the word out so more people visit. I'm still hoping to hear from the webmaster here. Patience.

I've received several emails from people who tell me they're reading the posts. I like that!

Several people have written me, saying they want to join our discussion, but they're having trouble registering.

It's Easter week and Spring Break here. Let's hope that a moderator will check in soon and will okay registrations.

For those who are reading and posting, I'll let you know that there are folks out there enjoying our discussion and learning from it. That's nice feedback. Thank you everyone! Al's strong preference was that we use R.E.B.T. in our own life and that we teach it to others. By posting here, we're doing both of those things.

I'm going to do my best to remember to write R.E.B.T. instead of REBT. That's because newcomers have been flummoxed by how to pronounce this thing we're talking about. It's coming out Ribbit. So by putting in those periods maybe it will look like Are-EE-Bee-Tee.

R=Rational, which is our human ability to think, reason and plan ahead.

E=Emotive, which is our human emotional reactions and the physiological reactions we experience when emotion hits.

B= Behavioral, which is our human capacity for action.

T= Therapy. which represents our ability to change the way we think, feel and act.

Al said that when we think, we feel and act. When we feel, we think and act. When we act, we think and feel. It's all tangled up together and R.E.B.T. is designed to help us intervene in each aspect. It works together. I'm likely to intervene in my feelings first, then work to change my thinking and actions. When I do that, my feelings will improve. That's my particular style. Other people might prefer starting with their thinking or actions, depending are their style and personality. It all works.

We're individuals. Al designed R.E.B.T. in a way that could benefit people with differing styles. As they used to say ... Different strokes for different folks.
