How seriously do you take pokemon?

By this I mean, do you just play through the game and own the e4 multiple times?

Or do you also play friends/other people competitively?

Do you also take any notice of IVs, EVs and natures of your pokemon?

Myself, I don't know anyone else who plays pokemon, but funnily enough I do breed to perfection (or at least try :P) and plan EVs for my pokemon.

So I suppose I'm semi-serious, but would be manically serious is I knew other people who also played.
