Okay, so, the last topic got out of hand and was locked. I can respect that decision, sure, whatever, let's move past that.
Agram is apparently gone and we're all happy, but now we're SLACKING again. There's been little activity for a few days and we need to not fall into that slump again. We had a good thing going. Let's continue, shall we? In Rave's (what I can only assume to be) self-imposed absence, I guess it falls to DB to push this, at least for the moment, so here's his list of shit to be done: 4: Push: SJ: "The Smack" (Pending) 9: Design an award 14: Eat some dicks. (As far as we know Rave is hard at work doing this) 15: Push: Affiliate: FIND A GROUP/WEBSITE/JERK TO AFFILIATE WITH ON DEVIANT ART Final steps 1: Hide unnecessary threads -Resurrection Discussion (this one) *DURP HURP* ![]() A bunch of crap has been finished by now. 8: NOT HAPPENING 16: Been there; Done that 17: Agram is outta here. *HURR DURR* ![]() We should probably focus on #9 at this point. Maybe get in contact with Rave again as our go-between with SmackJeeves unless someone else wants to volunteer. Don't know what's going on with that guy, but if it comes down to it we'll need a nice, agreeable person to deal with the... ahem... 'artists' on smackjeeves. Come on, people, look busy! -------------------- ![]() Swayin' yo hips? The fuck you doin? I think you need to leave. We'll be fine, but you need to go. |

Well said. I'd like to at least assist with this un-slumping business.
Though I don't quite understand what these numbers 14+ are. I'm guessing everyone but me was paying attention during some other explanation period. I vaguely remember ideas from 1-13. I'd be happy to look out for some affiliates like anywhere. Someone else'd have to put their links up on the site though, obviously. -------------------- |

Rave has left us. Without a strong Neutral Evil character at the helm, this ressurection will fail like the others.

All the ones that aren't listed don't matter anymore because they've already been done.
You're wrong. It's attitudes like that which will cause us to fail. -------------------- ![]() Swayin' yo hips? The fuck you doin? I think you need to leave. We'll be fine, but you need to go. |

Is there an award system you guys have in mind for the forum? Just wondering because once an award has been designed- how is it going to be carried out, and how will it be organized so people can't be putting it on their profiles/signatures unless they have won it? As for it's design, I could try it- just tell me what the award is for and I'll whip something up. |

Meeko and I were looking over this a while back, and I'm pretty sure Rave mentioned it before. I'm not exactly sure how we'd manage to do it on an invisionfree board, or if that will make a difference or whatever, but one of our affiliates, The Spriter's Zone, has a neat little system going for it. You can see it here, on Rave's profile there, under Awards. If we could get something similar to that happening, it'd be great. I wouldn't know how, though. That's up to the admins. -------------------- ![]() Swayin' yo hips? The fuck you doin? I think you need to leave. We'll be fine, but you need to go. |

FYI- I'm the creator and admin of The Spriter's Zone. I know how--
Yo DB, I'm really happy for you, and I'ma Let you finish, but I've been the Admin there for all time! *kick'd* The feature works along side the MySQL database I have installed on the forum with the PHP software it is using- but InvisionFree forum admins (to my knowledge) can't access their database or server FTP info. If the system of the awards is what you're looking for, you're gonna have to get this forum on it's own domain name with a PHP enabled sever with MySQL. In short, unless you got a site with options like mine or Robert's, then I don't know if it's possible. |

In that case it might be best if we switched to something more flexible?
The alternative is just awarding things the same way we've been doing the Pagoda Awards for the past forever, and after a while nobody really cared about those and Meeko stopped putting care in. I guess we could have something like the GRAND LIST OF AWARD WINNERS somewhere if we didn't change anything. Opinions? ...Oh, also, would we be able to get it to work if we finally gave a use to pixel-pagoda.com? -------------------- ![]() Swayin' yo hips? The fuck you doin? I think you need to leave. We have the domain. I don't know if we can transfer the forums there without losing everything and starting from scratch. Rob owns the domain, so I guess we need him to look into that. I had access to it long ago, but I don't remember the information at all.
But yeah, I like The Spriter's Zone whatever's award system. I would totally be giving random awards to people all the time. An award system alone isn't going to revive the Pagoda, but maybe it will keep current members interested longer. -------------------- ![]() Irregular Days - My new and shitty personal website. Yes. If you guys have a domain for it already--
When you create a forum everything will start out fresh. And thinking about transfering another forum's members and topics would require a database transfer, or transfering a section of the database that has all the members and topics in it. FYI- here is the software I've mentioned a few times http://mybboard.net/features . I've talked to Rob about the forum software I'm using and if he does decide to use it I told him I would gladly help him to the best of my ability.
Who here is interested in an award system? I am, and my forum already has one. |

I'm all in favor of restarting from scratch. Every thread is new, every discussion undiscussed, every spambot and banned asshole out of the system memory...
And www.pixel-pagoda.com is a good place to do it. Invisionfree was great 7 years ago, but it's too outdated and inflexible now. Yoshy, if you want to be an admin at the new Pagoda, I'd greatly appreciate your help with the code I can't do. Drop me an email (it's listed on HI) with what I'd need to do to to get the domain ready. --------------------

Forgive me if I'm wrong. But this'll only work if the pixel-pagoda.com server supports PHP and MySQL, surely?
I mean, I could have this whole thing wrong, but as I understand it.. -------------------- |
