The Future, What's it gonna be like?

My family doesn't own guns because they're a bunch of tree hugging hippies.

Eh, I like trees. But I like burning trees even more. In the future I have a feeling we won't even have a use for trees anymore.

Paintball will always survive, but by then it won't be paint balls. It will be another substance as close to a bullet as you can get without actually killing the person.

You have no idea how worthless they are if someone catches you too close, or from behind, or from a distance you can't see them at.


MULTIPLE guns are even more worthless, unless you wanted to make some kind of bullshit gattling gun.

A knife can beat any gun at close range. A gun will not fire if not taken care of properly. More importantly. If you run out of bullets you are left with a big heavy stick.


So iffens teh appocolypse hits us, you better be sure you got enough ammo to survive, or a good generator to power a bullet stamper.

Why would you need electricity? You use molds to make bullets.

Also, guns keep people from getting close enough to use a knife.

but even so, you need electicity (or a lot of wood) for the smelter, as well as plenty of raw metalics with which to melt, and of course the powder...etc...etc...

Guns don't always keep people from getting close enough. That is, if the user is quiet or quick or sneaky enough.

Which is why in the future the ground will be covered in noisy duck toys that squeak when stepped on.

As for multiple guns, the more guns your have. The more recruits you can arm. Thus you have a larger army.

As for trees, we won't need them. We will have other ways of obtaining oxygen..
Like..kittens with be equiped with multiplying nano bots that will supply us with oxygen..

Armies do not fight simply because they have armaments. I assume you'll have some kind of means of paying them once the econmy crumbles?

Definately a militia.

When it comes to the point that survival is a higher priority than personal liberties, people will follow whoever can give them the promise of food and security.

Example: Bob has a garden, and Jim has a gun. Bob gives Jim a share of his food, and in exchange Jim shoots anyone who tries to hurt bob, or steal Bob's food.

Susan, who was a nurse before the apocalypse, has medical skills. She offers to treat any wounds Bob and Jim get, in exchange for food and protection.

And so on and so on.... After enough people band together, the people with the guns and charisma are looked to as leaders. It's not about forming an army, it's about forming a feudal community.

Or Jim could just kill Bob and take his stuff.

Besides..Jim no hungry for Bob's garden. Jim hungry for HOTPOCKATS!

Ok, well here is the one and probably only time you are going to see me think logically..... So savor it.... When the economy crumbles there will be only one thing in most peoples minds and that would be to survive also they wouldn’t thing about guns to kill each other they would be worried about food and shelter also water which in turn would cause them to think about resorting to cannibalism, but there are things preventing people from doing that (morals) meaning most would rather starve than eat someone else meaning the would make people eat the dead rotting bodies on the floor but eventually means we would have to make another system of laws and such even in the future guns would not be here we would be reverted back to sticks or something of that sort.

Now the future would not relay on guns because we would all have computers and such which means someone (which we would then call a terrorist instead of a nerd) would make a computer virus to infect everyone’s electronics causing the world to collapse into economical ruin.


Now back to pineapples and pretzels and such.......
