Very true, but enough with my FCC argument, you could get arrested for saying the "n" word. Considering what happened in New York City. it just sees that every day this once great nation is just going to shit. Pardon My French by the way.

Not true, in New York City any one who said the "n" word by a cop would be arrested on the spot. This is due to the recent legislation claiming the word "nigger" is banned to say in New York City.

I looked it up. Currently, there are no penalties for using the word, but they ask that any songs with that word is not considered for a grammy.

Exactly! If some one has a problem with a shows content and language they can just fuck themselves and beat the crap out of thier v-chip for not doing its job. (i know those last lines weren't serious, but make a good point, just not in a serious manner.)

I'm sorry, but I must disagree.

If there is something inappropriate on Fox, or ABC, but the FFC would allow it on those channels, I just go to my mom and dad, "Hey! It's on Fox!" (Which my dad usually backs me up on)

If they just started spewing crap out of their mouth more than the exorcist, then I could not fall back on that anymore.

Also, that would cause a decline in television, due to parents not wanting their pre-teen to see some stuff.

Freedim of speech is dead. when you have the FCC the MPAA the ESRB and asses like jack thompson, nobody is gonna be able to speak thier minds. in modern society the first ammendment is dead and freedom of speech is dead. Freedom of speech is not dead. Perhaps I was too long winded before for anyone to bother reading what I said. Here's a short version:

-The existence of the FCC does not mean America is becoming Communist.
-The FCC does not take away your freedom of speech when it censors networks. The networks work with the FCC willingly to maintain the highest ratings possible by offending the least amount of people
-If you bother to watch MSNBC, CNN, Fox News channel, or any other news channel you'll see it riddled with shows of people expressing their opinions and exercising their freedom of speech.
-and for the last time society, that is America in general, has chosen what words are bad. The FCC is simply there to enforce the will of the people and maintain their best interest.

Sith, I believe you simply feel you are currently being being opressed in some manner and lack the ability to express yourself in a manner deemed "appropriate" and you are therfore trying to justify your own shortcomings through the misappropriation of blame. The FCC is not out to take away your nor anyone's freedom of speech.
