Hilarious.

Hope it racks up a kill count.

Symptoms Etc. seem much like regular flu. No vaccine for it, makes old people and very young children more susceptible.

Otherwise it's alright.

I know that eventually something real is gonna come along someday, but this don't seem like it.

With any luck it'll kill off 2/3 of the world's population. We need a new black plague to kick start another renaissance.

Rest assured, the world would be a much nicer place if you had never existed in the first place, and that you deserve to have your hands removed then thrown into fire in order to prevent any of the future abortions you call "comics."

and on a serious note, the influenza pandemic of 1918 started out slowly too. I'm not saying 40 million people are going to die from this flu, the medical technology is better and more sanitary anyway. But it's at least a good idea to listen to your body (without being a hypochondriac.)

I'm not scared by the media but I did have passing thoughts about my grandad who is 90. He would be very susceptible. I'm sure my mom is worried too. Though my mom has a tendency to overreact. She was convinced we would get mad cow disease if we ate beef for well over a month after the scare.

So did bird flu, and sars.

Swine flu is just a fad. It's definately no Cancer, and at least Aids is a little bit retro.

Dear lord:
This is all your fault, fix it.

If it does get big, move to Madagascar. It's the hardest country to reach.

Outside of that don't worry. It's Sweeps Time so all the channels are blowing this out of proportion in order to get ratings.

And if you go to the next sentence I said you'll see that I'm hardly convinced I should be terrified of this. Yes, SARS and the bird flu were also advertised by the media as the next Black Death and we've reached a point where many feel the media is just crying wolf all the time. All I'm saying is that the one small grain of truth that remains is that it is something to be mindful about.

It has "claimed a life" as Raveduck has noted but this is not yet cause for alarm. It was an infant, a likely victim of flu related death anyway. Keep in mind, I'm not trying to play down the tragedy of the infant's death. I'm just saying the implications of the death are that we should not be worried but we should be cautious.

I guess I'm just one that prefers to err on the side of caution. Once again though, not nearly to the extent my mother buys into the media scares.

This isn't the Ebola Hemorrhagic Fever. It's not going to kill a lot of ppl, it's gonna be another one of those things similar to the SARS virus. I know it has claimed lives but I seriously doubt it's gonna do a lot of damage.

Yeah. I just checked the WHO FAQ page on the Swine Flu and they're saying that you should just be calm and treat this like any normal flu... and "That Deaf, Dumb and Blind Kid sure plays a mean Pinball."

Sorry, couldn't resist.
