In my experience I have noted two types of illegal immigrants in the US. Those who are here because they hopped the border, and those who are here because their parents hopped the border and popped out a baby. In my book they should all be sent back to their home country. I shall explain my reasoning...

In the 1920's the US of A had some tough times. The dust bowl, the great depression, ect... Millions of people lost their jobs and all that they owned. This led to a flood of "hoovervilles" or traveling villages, the predecessor to today's obsession with RV parks.
These hoovervilles were usually heading towards southern California. The reason being that there were thousands of manual labor jobs that would normally be filled in by migrating workers from Mexico, who would work for less than a dollar a week. These jobs would increase in demand, and the pay rate would drop. The people who would work for the least amount of money would get the jobs. In the end, the migrant workers got the lowest bid. This has established a long tradition of seasonal migration for these jobs, usually tending and harvesting crops such as tomato, cabbage, grapes, broccoli, and sweet corn. This tradition of migration eventually led to a flood of immigration, and the workers stopped going back home to Mexico during the off season.

If we look further back, to the Mexican-American War, the one with the Alamo and such, the Mexicans believed that the Americans unlawfully stole Texas, which they believed to be their land. This is still told in schools and homes in Mexico to this day. In fact, the Mexican government ENCOURAGES this teaching, much as our schools encourage the teaching of anti-christianity, and anti-conservatism. This has led to the mindset of the Mexican people that they have every right to come into our country. Some immigrants even believe that soon, the US will succumb to the Mexican invasion and step down to the Mexican Government. In my dealings with some of the legal immigrants (yes, I said legal, just to clarify) that live in my area, I have come to find that most illegals have every intention of "repopulating" the areas that they illegally live in with their own offspring in an effort to force out US citizens. When I heard this, I was astonished and appalled. I could not for the life of me figure out how this could be so. I live in Minnesota, almost as far from Mexico as you can get, in fact, I think I know almost as many Canadians as Americans. Yet, somehow the Mexican influence in my area is so dramatic, that you almost have to speak Spanish in order to function as a part of society. Just recently, the US Border patrol made a raid on a local textile plant, and deported over 100 illegal immigrants. This was a real eye-opener to the locals. Nobody had any idea that there could be that many of them around. Soon enough though, people started to connect dots, and now more and more illegals are showing up and getting booted.

So, how does any of this have to do with the wrongness of illegal immigration? First and foremost, it's illegal. Duh. It is a violation of federal law to enter the United States of America without proper authorization. You must have a reason for being here, and you must prove that you came here legally. Green card, passport, ect...

Second, these illegal immigrants are extremely destructive to economic growth. Some liberal politicians say that "well... they are just doing the jobs that americans won't do". I say "f*ck you, moron..." If our country is so snub nosed that it's highschoolers won't go out and work during the summers to earn a few bucks at the local farm or mill or plant, then we have a problem. If our unemployed, bums, vagrants, homeless people, ect... won't get off their asses to go out and work for a bed and hot meal, then we have a problem. This is a whole separate issue, which I won't get into right now, but it boils down to the simple fact that our country has no self discipline or self responsibility. Anyways, back on topic... Our country has a 5% unemployment rate. We also have 18+ million illegal immigrants. Do the math.

Third and finally, Illegal immigration is extremely bad for society. Think of Illegals as sea lamprey. They come here, attach themselves, and suck the nutrients and flesh off of our country, leaving a large wound. This wound is not only financial, but social. The so called "invasion" has left large portions of towns and cities in ruins. Mexican slums, hoods, and ghettos are common in most cities. These illegal immigrants, who usually work for minimum wage or lower, create large unsightly areas in cities mainly because they cannot afford to do any better. Also, they usually group together and reproduce quite rapidly. The real kicker is this; those babies, yes those of illegal immigrants, are natural born US Citizens. And wait, there's more... You guessed it... Mommy and Daddy are now legal. So, what message does this send to potential illegals? Hop the border, tap that senorita, pop a whiner, and presto! Instant citizenship. It makes me sick.

Solution? Good luck. If you find one, let me know. But since I figure I should at least put my suggestion, here it goes.
Now remember, none of this is as easily done as said.
Steps:
1. Eliminate the communists, socialists, and anti-Americans that are brainwashing our country into believing that we are at fault for everything. Eliminate big business, mega-corporations, and trade-tyrants. This means no more Wal-Mart, McDonald's, Target, Pfizer, Trump, Ect...
2. Clean the system out. ID check every single person that even slightly looks like they could be illegal. If they can't prove legality, deport them immediately, no questions asked. Check for Citizenship at Voting booths, Grocery lines, DMVs, Banks, ATM's, hell... check 'em at the car wash. Require law enforcement officers to check for citizenship (not just a valid drivers license) at every person to person contact (proper term for traffic stops, noise complaint stops, domestic disturbance responses, ect...)
3. Keep them all from coming back. The fence is a good start. Run a high voltage current through it for good measure. Heck, put up some guard posts every mile of so with precision riflemen and surveillance equipment. If anyone tries to go across, shoot them. Simple.
4. Tell the Mexican gov. to get a spine and get a grip. It is literally leeching off of our country. Somewhere in the range of 3 to 7 billion dollars a year goes to to the Mexican government. That doesn't include what illegals send back over the border to their families (which is upwards of 1 billion a year).
5. Restore America to the America that was once great. I would give anything to have my great grandfather's America. The country that had 48 stars on it's flag. The America that would defend against evil at all costs. A nation that could hold it's head high because they knew they were doing the right thing. My grandfather, and hundreds of thousands of other Americans were willing to give their lives to defend freedom, liberty, and all that democracy stands for. They would gladly pay the ultimate sacrifice to see good prevail over evil, and see that those who would do evil receive the justice they deserve. The war that they fought was not a small one, nor was it short. It is a war that does not end, but merely fluctuates in intensity. We happen to be on the edge of a rise in this intensity. We must be willing to sacrifice everything that we have to defend our way of life. We must stand up and tell people that what is happening is wrong. I encourage you. The next time you see somebody do something obviously wrong, tell them. If they shrug it off, then tell them this: There are two problems with people in this world. Nobody is willing to take responsibility for their actions, and nobody is willing to make an effort to make the world better. That is my job, your job, our job. That is the job of every American. To better themselves for the better of all.

I should also note that I am going to be serving my country, starting in September, and am proud to contribute to the security of my country by going Active Duty in the US Air Force.

That was long winded, but I hope It sheds some insight onto this topic.
Peace Out,
~Gill

It's not just Mexicans. A lot of people seem to think they're the only ones causing problems. They are the major issue and the most common people that are talked about in the immigration issue but people forget that a lot of illegal immagrants from other countries com in thorugh Canada.

In somewhat of a defense, though, not all of them come with illintention in mind. There are plenty of those who "flee" their country, so to speak and in some cases it is for good reason. Specifically in defense of the Mexican immigrants (sort of) Mexico's economy is pretty poor and quality of life is very low. The Mexican government needs to do an overhaul on their country so that their citizens don't feel as eager to get away. So there is some responsibility on America's part to help but Mexico itself needs to take some responsibility for all the citizens they seem to let leave for the US illegaly.

I'm not sure what my opinion is on illegal immigrants that are already here but I know in order to keep more from coming, or at least decrease the number, we need to have stricter enforcemnet at the border. Border agents are not allowed to fire at someone unless fired upon. So if a drug dealer is running away from them but doesn't shoot, the border agents have no way of stopping him. Just shooting his leg would be a fine way to stop him without killing him.

There are too many illegal immigrants to waste our time and resources deporting them. They're here. And they're quite literally everywhere.

If companies had to pay them the same wages as everyone else, there'd be no advantage to hire uneducated illegal immigrants over educated Americans.

They take jobs noone wants. Take my word on it, the sort of jobs these immigrants are doing are NOTHING that you want to do. Why would anyone WANT to work places like a chicken processing plant or some of these factories that hire all the immigrants?

You want to bitch about jobs disappearing, go complain to the government about them allowing all the work to be shipped overseas. The corporations are fucking the American work force, not the immigrants.

Still, better border control would more authorized force is necessary. As was mentioned before, the inability to stop drug runners is not good. And an open border is just a pathway for terrorists and other unfriendly people.
