Well the fact has dawned on me that it's been a year now since anyone has seen a new Reuben Dante comic from me, and a good 7 or 8 months since the site got wiped off the face of the internet alltogether.
I blame real life. I graduated college last year, and while you'd think that'd finally give me the free time to make the comic, well then you got the pesky job that gets in the way of that. Yes, the video games, often WoW but sometimes different ones are just too enjoyable to pass up, and also drew me away from RDTV. Here's the deep dark secret with me, and I'm sure I share it with a lot of webcomic authors. I love telling the story of Reuben Dante, and very much wish to conclude it sometime. It's just that I dislike the actual comic-making process so very much. Downloading roms to rip the backgrounds and spirtes from, spending several hours of my now-precious free time compiling all those sprites into the comics we all know, it... well it just sucks. I do want to continue, but I need to really press myself to recommit. Right now when people ask me about it, I tell them RDTV is just like Batman Beyond: It's not offically cancelled, but chances are very good you won't be seeing a new episode anytime soon. When I first started the comic back in 2003 I scripted the first 70 or so comics, and made the first 42 in advanced before I even started posting them onto the internet. This is what I would need to do if I were to start again, because let's face it, making a comeback with one new comic a month doesn't carry much of a punch. NOW, if I were to do that and come back, rest assured you and the rest of the sprite comic community would know it, because I would blow about 300 dollars (which I can afford now thanks to aforementioned job) on advertising. But lord knows when that would be. Now, for the time being I have a friend with his own website who has been kind enough to host the old archives of RDTV. When that gets up I'll be sure to post a link for you all. And to the scattered handfuls of you people out there who called themselves fans of RDTV, you rocked my world. Most every webcomic author has a huge ego that craves feeding, and I was no exception. All of you who commented on forums with your kind remarks, or shot me emails with the same, I thank you deeply. And even the readers who never left feedback but just continued to read in your own privacy, you all were equally as awesome. And that should be it. Got questions or comments, you're welcome to post them here. |

[10:10] DB: It'd be good to have an answer to that [10:10] DB: A non-Meeko answer [10:10] DB: Unless Meeko gets gender reassignment surgery [10:10] DB: Because I would totally hit that |
