tomster 785 - September 16, 2006 08:46 AM (GMT)
I'm ok with the rules... this is going to be really hard to make (considering 5 colors)

halfDemon - September 17, 2006 10:10 PM (GMT)
You know, having limited colors really aint that bad. It makes the piece quite fun and challenging. Good luck to both of you.

Joseph - September 18, 2006 03:38 AM (GMT)
Thanks, and notice to tomster...ive changed the days to complete to 5...ive been very busy lately and I have yet to start on mine.

Joseph - September 19, 2006 09:53 PM (GMT)
since tomster has yet to post his creation, and this is due tomorrow...here's mine:

Good job joseph ;) Only thing i can suggest, is with the time still available, try to make a character or two in it ;) Maybe a skeleton guy, or a ghost, or something? It will help it alot, but it's still good :) G/l Tosmter

well, they're both horrible, and no, neither count as a "platform mockup" -_- seriously, wtf. the view isnt even platform. and saying platform mockup means platform mockup along with anything other types of images, adding characters, rocks, trees, ect. into the mockup itself.

ill give you by tomorrow to come up with a mockup or you automaticly lose. your choice, but I suggest you at least try so not to make yourself look like an idiot (worse than you have).

halfDemon - September 21, 2006 02:53 AM (GMT)
A mockup is a fake screenshot, Tomster.

tomster 785 - September 21, 2006 02:42 PM (GMT)
what you said confused me

DoorMatt - September 21, 2006 02:51 PM (GMT)
Look at Joseph's entry. That is a mockup. It's like a screenshot of a game, but the game does not exist. People sometimes do mock ups before they create a game to get a feel of what it will look like. For a platform mock up, you need to create the graphics for a platformer, and then put them together. So make a level background, a character, props, power ups, HUD, etc.

I know what one is but the thing in brackets threw me off, anyway I'll start a mockup now

You know, you have to start and finish it today. Mine took roughly 30 minutes so im sure you can come up something before midnight tonight.

i'm really hoping that was sarcasm

DoorMatt - September 21, 2006 09:35 PM (GMT)
I think my sarcasm-o-meter just made my ceiling collapse on me.

Tomster: The bubbles are nice, though could use some anti-aliasing. Spongebob doesn't look like Spongebob and the health bar looks quite sorry for its self.

tomster 785 - September 21, 2006 10:01 PM (GMT)
for god sake I give up, even though I cant I'm not percitipating, you win

The bubble wouldn't have such deep shading.
Too much light for under the sea.

Tomster, you were the one who challenged Joseph in the first place.

The least you could do is stick through voting.

Bill - September 22, 2006 01:56 AM (GMT)
well id like to say thanks to tomster for helping me out with the bubble thing, i learned how to make a bubble cuz of you... lol woohoo!

Also good job joseph?

Gimpy Matey - September 22, 2006 02:13 AM (GMT)
Just thought i'd say my two cents on this contest, even though it was no contest. I never saw who started the challenge (although i saw above it was tomster) but i personally would not accept a challenge of someone who is way far above me in pixelling (examples: DR, SW, Indigo((did i even need to say it?)), Teej, or maybe even joseph after seeing this mockup of his ((great work man, i love it))), i would work to improve so i could face them at a later date, but still deny the challenge for the time being (which you are aloud to do). anyways, i've used enough parenthesis for one post, so i best finish it now without adding more.

PS i really like joseph's mockup, heh heh.

PPS these ps things are basically like parenthesis, heh heh.

PPPS heh heh.

Dark Rogue - September 22, 2006 12:46 PM (GMT)
I'm not that much better than you, Gimpy. We need to have a Pixel War some time.

But, Tomster was the one who posted in Joseph's topic, saying he'd go against him. That's what makes me so annoyed.

tomster 785 - September 26, 2006 09:52 AM (GMT)
yeah well theres no point, mine sucks end of (the health bar is sorta rushed)
