Verona surpressed a chuckle and bit her lip, shaking her head lightly as she answered, "As much as I'm sure I'd enjoy myself, I have two very painful problems inhibiting me from doing anything productive any time soon." Her eyebrows rose as she glanced at the governor, smirking salaciously.

James allowed an amused smile to grace his lips as he leaned his head down and nuzzled his nose ageist Verona's temple, "Maybe later then." he purred into her ear before lifting his head back up and makes his way up the secert path around the back of his house.

"But 'later' takes so long," she mused, sighing as she shook her head from side to side in contemplation. "You should have just left it at one shot... or at least just killed me. Unless you are so ruthless as to know how terribly torturous this is for me and somehow get some twisted amusement out of it." Verona tapped her fingers on his chest, keeping the cloth balled in her hand. Her lips were pursed as she awaited a response and almost as if out of boredom, she wriggled her foot back and forth in time with his steps.

James stayed quiet for a long time, the muscles in his jaw working as he tightend it, a soft sigh escaping him, "I am sorry." he said truthfully, his voice soft and calm but it heart was pounding very hard ageist his chest, "I know it might not mean anything to you but truthfully I am very sorry." he said before becoming quiet again.

Verona nodded, regardless of whether he would see or not. Of course, she hadn't meant to make him feel so remorseful for shooting her. It was by her own request anyway... and perhaps his dear cronies would, in seeing such a display, not ask the governor about it later.

Rather than say anything else that was on her mind, she simply nodded again, and said, "I know."
