Welcome to Photosoc and our fantastic new(ish) forum!

We hope you'll use the forum to discuss everything to do with photography, to get help when you need it and of course to share your ideas/thoughts etc. The forum will also be kept up to date with everything we have going on.

Course: 4th year Maths (Masters)

Interests photography-wise: Pretty much everything, with the exception of sports photography (Formula 1 accepted)!

I've always had an interest in Photography but only really started taking it seriously when I joined Photosoc in my second year here at L'boro.

I learnt how to use the darkroom back in the Sixth Form as part of my A Level Art course, and although I love the darkroom I just don't have the patience! - I want to see the results right away which is why I switched to digital.

Other interests: Music, Maths, Computing...

Something random about me: I thought of something to go here earlier but I can't remember what!! Will update later!

Course: 2nd Year Accounting and Financial Management

Interests photography-wise: People (just started building my fashion side of photos with beautiful women!!!), music, flowers and the great outdoors

I started taking more than your regular style photos in my last year of A-levels, but really got into it with Photosoc last year.

Always used digital.

Other interests: Music, bass playing, music, cycling, music, rugby, music, horse riding, music and reading.

Something random about me: I have a tattoo and have so far broken 5 bones in my body.

Course: Product Design and Manufacture, 4th year (oops)

Interests photography-wise: Light, shadow, silhouette, colour, perspective, people, architecture, surrealism, fantasy..

I suppose I'd class myself as an art-photographer, although I do also enjoy documenting events/gatherings etc.

I got into the hobby through my deviantart, and have been shooting almost constantly now for about 3 years

Always have a camera of some sort with me, digital all the way!

Other interests: Music, art, gigs, travel, urban exploration

Something random about me: I take the photos that end up on the photosoc site, so watch out

Course: 3rd year politics, 3 hours a week

Interests photography-wise: Sports is my thing, everything else is just easy It also makes me money, so an added incentive lol Weirdly though, I barely watch it on TV or live, with the exception of motorsport and cycling. Then again, that's a bad thing as I've often turned up to events and am clueless as to who I'm meant to shoot!

Other interests: Motorbikes, video games, cycling, urban exploration

Something random about me: Hm...I'll go for the current favourite, I was kicked by Pete Doherty! Ooo and I've just started my own photo agency, StillSports.co.uk!

Course: Final year in Retail Management (harder than it sounds!)

Interests photography-wise: I'm a beginner to this but really wanted to get into it when my sister went on a course and can now take really cool pictures

Other interests: Only recently quit Taekwon-do as it was getting too hardcore for my final year but am not far off a black belt

Something random about me: I once won with over 250 points in Scrabble - a very proud achievement for me

Interests photography-wise: quite experimental stuff something that is a either kwirky or classy, my taste is quite diverse

althought i recently discovered lomography which sell weird and wonderful cameras and im quite obsessed with them now lol!

Other interests: music of all kinds NO RAP (well some kinds then) ..... world cinema, going to the park.... and random tripps to tesco

Something random about me: i only have a scottish accent when speaking to other scotts or family members, i have milked a cow, i can say random words in contoniese and introduce my self in manderin chinese... ohh and i accidently kicked sir ian mckellen (i did appologise)

Interests photography-wise: Stylish pics (those that make you go hmm...), arty bits n bobs to do with city scapes etc, sports, portraits

Something random about me: I spent the summer in africa, in which time i was bitten by a horse, and got bucked off a horse at gallop. I have scars...

Name: Richard Stubbs... or just Stubbs/Stubbsy

Course: 1st Year Mech. Eng.

Interests photography-wise: Mostly portraiture though I dabble in everything a little bit. It is only a hobby but I do love it.
Used to shoot digital but went back to film, prefering quality over convenience!

Other interests: Music, videogames, few select sports (basketball and golf mostly), drinking, partying etc.

Course: Accounting and Financial Management, Final Year

Interests photography-wise:

Im open to it all, a complete beginner!

My Grandad was a wedding photographer, and that will definately be something I will be looking into in the long term.
For now, I just want to start at the beginning and cover all the basics!

Other interests:

I have been performing close-up slight of hand magic for a few years, which is something I spend a lot of my time on I guess - it's quality!
I performed at the AU Ball in 2005, and have also done a couple of other balls over the last two years.

Love music, basketball is quality, want to be a drummer.

Bit of a beginner, will try my hand at almost anything. Random snapshots and more arty stuff.

Digital all the way, cos I'm lazy.
RAW all the way, cos I'm not THAT lazy.

Into martial arts and stuff, got a black belt in karate and currently doing kung-fu here in Loughborough.
I also like languages and stuff... currently trying to learn Mandarin Chinese and Malay.
I also enjoy cooking (and eating!)

Interests photography-wise: lol, I do a lot of self-portraits.. and most of my shots are of people, surroundings or just pretty things I see while walking around. :-) They're pretty much very very random shots! my deviantart, my flickr account!

Other interests: netball, basketball, digital art (I make layouts for fun lol), websites, i do lots of sketching.. hhmmm.. now that I think about it, I don't really know what I like doing. :-D I cook. a lot. every day.

Hi, well here goes.

Name: Nazim Gire ( call me NAZ or ratman or stickman or monkey man from delhi)

Course: Product Design & Manufacture (Second year)

Interests photography-wise: Basically im a beginner, u could say im a virgin to photgraphy. I just like taking photos, and i wanna learn how to take amazing photos when im on holiday or jus of friends and family.

Other interests: hmm, well last year i joined the bowling society and hot air ballooning, which werent bad. I try a bit of everything, play a little badminton and basketball. I love watching movies, i watch far too many. I love my music, ull hardly ever find me without my earphones.

Something random about me: When i was 15 i won a trip to pakistan and well got to meet the president and fly on a militray plane. Yeah that is 1 of the best experiences ive had.
Ive walked into the ladies toliets by accident, and the ladies changing rooms, i honestly swear it was an accident.
