In case people are wondering: you know those little orange boxes that appear beneath your avatar? Well, that's the 'pip' system we've got set up here. It's nothing to do with ranks or anything - it's just dependent on your post count. Here's how it's set up at the moment (keep in mind that it may change at a later date, as the forums become more active):
1 post - 1 pip - "Villager" 10 posts - 2 pips - "Clubman" 25 posts - 3 pips - "Axeman" 50 posts - 4 pips - "Archer" 75 posts - 5 pips - "Scout" 100 posts - 6 pips - "Swordsman" 150 posts - 7 pips - "Chariot" 200 posts - 8 pips - "Cavalry" 250 posts - 9 pips - "Cataphract" 300 posts - 10 pips - "War Elephant" 400 posts - 11 pips - "Ballista" 500 posts - 12 pips - "Catapult" The "titles" in the speech marks are the default ones that we've set up to display. (Certain members have the ability to change this "title" - in time, we may extend this ability to all regular members. Oh, and by the way, if anyone has any bright ideas for changes to those default names in the speech marks that they reckon would be better, feel free to share them here.  ) -------------------- Lord Parkin / Emperor

Here's some you could add:
some legendary or mythical creatures from the same period of time. like "Medusa" And when the site gets more popular, you could get more modern, still having as much detail as possible. You could eventually become a "Grenadier" or a "reinforced tank" or something like that. I reckon this whole thing is a really cool idea.  -------------------- <script type="text/javascript">

I had a go at thinking up a political rank system... but there just weren't enough well-known people to make fun of! (When you think about it, I guess there really aren't that many "big leaderheads" out there in the world...)
Of course, if anyone can think of 12 different (and reasonably well-known) political people that could work, feel welcome to post them. Otherwise, maybe we should mix in some other people... perhaps celebrities as well as the political leaders?  -------------------- Lord Parkin / Emperor

you don't need many anyway do you? we've still got all of the original pips, i've seen people on other forums that have made over 50,000 posts!!! the pips on this site so far only go up yo 12 pips 500 posts. at the moment we're still concentrating on an 'age of empires I' type of thing. you could advance through the years or something.
You could even add Suddam Hussein, you might want to think about that on, though. you might also want to add on to the current type of pips. put your least favourite teacher in the BC stuff -------------------- <script type="text/javascript">
