Title: The Rise and Fall of The Asylum
HitAnyKey - August 23, 2006 04:30 AM (GMT)
The Lord of Insanity has announced that The Asylum has entered a State of Bedlam. With the fall of Weirdness, mayhem has ensued and those remaining around the fallen city have fled the area.
The Lunatics are also miffed at the Elkin Empire for supplying those of the nation we refuse to pronounce with the Quechua that was used against our mighty Archers. They were so proud to be mighty, until they realized they were not. And that disappointed them.
The capital city of Insanity where the Lord hath been residing is currently safe from assault, but the fear of incoming troops from the nation we refuse to pronounce is high and in the crazed minds of all. The Lord has been sending many to the sacrificial chambers for a variety of reasons, some of which don't even make full sense.
But then again, what would you expect from the Lord of Insanity?
Lord Parkin - August 23, 2006 04:51 AM (GMT)
So, the "peaceful" leader of the Elkin Empire is not so innocent after all, it seems. One could say that gifting units to help another in wartime could almost be seen as a declaration of war itself.
The leader of the Parkinstani empire is mildly amused. ;)

Truth be told.. that Quechua was promised long before you lunatics found yourself at war.
But apparently some time after your lunacy drove you to the aggresive settling which led to said war.
While exploring the Western Tundra, the Elkin Quechua meet a Warrior from Raxacoricofallapatorious. Through Smoke Signals and Carrier Pigeons our two nations agreed to a trade. It just so happened that the Quechua finally arrived just after hostilities began. The Elkin Empire would have commited a breach of contract for services previously rendered had we not gifted that unit as promised. Its too bad the unit was immediatly used in war, but then again that war was just and the provocation for it was clear. So that brave Quechua who explored the ends of this earth, met an honorable end and represented its people gloriously.

Now with my scouts getting clubbed on a regular basis I have not yet had the privilege of touring this war-torn area of the continent. Is this mayhem still going on? Surely the Raxacoricofallapatorians must no longer have a casus belli with the Asylum?
Herandar - August 26, 2006 07:51 PM (GMT)
No need for the legalese, but you are correct. His reason for war was the removal of Weirdness from HAK's hands. That has been acheived.
HitAnyKey - August 26, 2006 07:53 PM (GMT)
The war is still going in full force. Many of the Lunatics have fled the area due to the loss of Weirdness, however those surrounding Insanity will continue to fight against the oppressive nation whom we refuse to attempt to pronounce.
It is unknown yet whether those garrisoned up in the Towers of Insanity will fight to the death or jump into the frigid waters in an attempt to flee the approaching hordes. Only time will tell...

Jump! Jump! Jump! Jump!

My friend Herandar has provided an interesting interpretation, but I'm afraid that the Raxacoricofallapatorians see things a bit differently.
The lunatics from the Assylum have made no attempts at peace, nor have they conducted themselves in a manner that would be consistent with a neighbor seeking to live peacefully with anyone. Their tactics have deteriorated to outright savagery, resorting to the senseless massacre of innocents, and a vain attempt to halt the supply of food to our small town.
I speak of their newly "acquired" galley that has spent the last two turns burning fishing boats and sending the men who worked them to a watery grave. This pillaging is evidence of a depravity that cannot be allowed to survive. Our troops have been very careful not to pillage the countryside, nor bring harm to the innocents living within the twisted domain of the Assylum. I fear that when word reaches our troops on the front of the atrocities being committed back home by Assylum sailors, there will be no hope of restraining them.
This conflict has endured far too long already, and it is our hope that we can bring it to a quick end, but there have been some benefits from this struggle. We now know who our real friends are. We also know who we can trust, and who we cannot, so in that sense, we are thankful.
As before, Raxacoricofallapatorus has no desire for global conquest. Admittedly, such goals are likely far beyond our grasp. We merely wish to coexist, but fear that such peaceful coexistence is impossible when there are lunatics running the Assylum.
Thank you, and Raxa be with you all.

The Lunatics have only done what they've needed to in order to thwart the attempts to of The Asylum to exist as is deemed appropriate by their warped minds. The land of the nation whom we refuse to pronounce split our world in two. The duty of the Lunatics therefore became to unify the nation, which in turn required the extermination of that which caused them strife.
By the luck of their locale, the were able to obtain a plot of Iron right next to their capital which provided the Spearmen to put a stop to this plan.
As the last surviving peoples of Weirdness flee the area, the capital city of Insane will fight to the bitter end. The tactics of weakening the capital of the enemy has the purpose of slowing their own demise. This is being accomplished by our "own" galley and not something we simply acquired. We worked hard and sacrificed much in order to get it. And we will continue to sacrifice what needs to be done to hold the enemy at bay.
