Hi all: just to share with you that my wife of 44 years and I are observing the 22nd anniversary of our 19 year old soldier sons death. RIP, O/Cdt. Frank Joseph Jr.
Not a day passes without you in our thoughts, but January 24 th will always be the most poignant day in our lives until the end of our days.

There must be nothing so profoundly devastating than to lose a child Jabs.

In my humble opinion, there would be no possible way I nor anyone else could come up with adequate words to help you both ease your pain.

My only words are: "GOD ... PLEASE HELP THESE GOOD PEOPLE THROUGH THEIR SORROW AND TRANSFER ALL OUR PRAYERS TO THEM SO THEY WILL KNOW THEY HAVE VERY CONCERNED FRIENDS WHO LOVE THEM AS THEY LOVED THEIR SON. IN JESUS NAME. AMEN."

The loss of a child is something no parent wants to experience. My brother died in 1989 and not a day goes by that my parents do not think about him (I also). It is a sadness that is never ending and no amount of words or prayers will lessen the grief. However, knowing that your child is in the hearts of others and in their prayers and thoughts, helps their memory live on. May your memories help to ease your sorrow.

Thank you all for your kind and heartfelt comments: a little background on our son:
Physically he was imposing-6'4", about 190lbs.; an Ontario Scholar, with a 98% average, Fermat winner in mathematics competitions, did NOT accept a full Engeneering Scholarship to McMaster Uni rather opting to join the military and going through the Military Colleges Program. He attended RRMC (Royal Roads Military College-now defunct and a civilian Uni-in Victoria BC) and would have graduated from RMC , with a Computer Engeneering degree (Royal Military Colllege-in Kingston ON) had he not died in the crash of a Cessna 172 along with 3 of his fellow Officer Cadets-the result of pilot error (too much fuel, weight and stupid flying) not his as he was in the right hand seat as a passenger.
He was an absolute genius (165) on the computer and that is not the least of his talents that I so sorely miss, as when it comes to 'puters, I'm a relative Idiot!
A natural mathematician, good athelete and according to his CO and fellow Cadets, an outstanding soldier- and with him, the line was broken: the first born on our paternal side having been a soldier, going back to the times when our family name was first mentioned in the history books, the 1300's., so once again dear friends, thank you for your kind words and thoughts. I live in the hope that TGAOTU will re-unite us in that wonderous place somewhere in our Universe!

Amen to that post Jabs. Sounds like your son led a short but exemplary life! And as to your hope of "meeting him again one day"... like the scriptures say"without this hope we would be of all men most miserable" God bless you and your family.
