Why do you think you are right to play this character? I've always related to Hanajima on a personal level. We are both quiet and mature for our age. I'm also a big fan of Furuba and when I first started reading it and found out a character shares a similar name (though it's a nickname) I got excited and automatically liked her.

Appearance (100+ words): Hana's style of clothing is dark and Gothic. One mantle of hers especially made quite an impression on Yuki, Shigure, and Kyou. She's not seen outside her school uniform much, but her outfits are very interesting. Hana's simply an interesting person all around. She adopted the gothic style of dress, not to frighten others for vanity, but to scare them away, and to remind herself of her threat. Though she wishes to scare people away, she is anything but ugly. She is very pretty and mysterious which adds to her appeal. Hana is not only muture for her age but she looks older as well.

Personality (200+ words): Hana's a darling. She's fiercely loyal of her friends and her electro-magnetic waves are ruthless. Quiet and reserved, full of mystery and surprises, she's definitely one of a kind. Hana loves leaving things vague so people can wonder. She purposefully crafts her words with skill while talking about herself. is interested in relationships and the way people's minds work. She's usually the one in the side of all the central action, watching others and knowing what's going through their minds even if they deny it or no one else can see it. She can sense "electro-magnetic waves" coming from them too. They are a sort of sixth sense that she uses to its full advantage.
It's true that Hana gets to be a wallflower when around such loud personalities like Kyou or Uo. However, that doesn't mean her personality isn't strong; it's just quiet. She works in a subtle world, where she says what she means and means what she says, and doesn't need anything extra to sugar-coat her ways. Fading into the background allows Hana to make better observations about people. She's ready to protect Tohru if they ever anyone would dar to hurt her, but at the same time she gives Tohru her space. She understands that some things can only be handled by Tohru's own strength.

That's the inner battle that Hana has been going through ever since Tohru became a part of the Sohma family. Hana had to cope with slowly letting Tohru go, in a way. Though the two girls were definitely still friends, Tohru had also found a world of new people whom she called family. Hana is almost motherly in the way she watches out for Tohru. As Tohru doesn't have a mother anymore, and as Hana's the only close female companion Tohru knows that is as sharp, observant, and subtly protective of her, she takes on that role a bit. Her affection for her best friend is just about unconditional: Hana doesn't expect Tohru to notice her efforts or be concerned for her, but when Tohru shows concern, it always makes her happy and excessivly so. She doesn't demand anything at all from others, but when she receives affection or concern from her friends, the people who she cares for the most, it makes her incredibly happy. She was probably an outcast in her former school and, as she said in her own words, Tohru was her first friend. This is probably why she cherishes the two best friends she has now; they accept her different nature and love her for who she is. Hana's different. She's also strange; people don't easily accept her odd quirks.

The root of Hana's oddity is her psychic power tied in with electro-magnetic waves. She senses things about people, and sensed a definite difference between the Juunishi and normal people. She isn't exactly sure why she receives such odd waves from Yuki and Kyou, but knows that they're different. Often times Hana can sense people's emotions with her waves -- or perhaps just with her sharp sense of observation. But her powers aren't only useful for reading people, no. She can use them for curses and other various dreadful kinds of things that aren't elaborated on. Granted, Hana would never actually do anything terrible to anyone she knows but threatening them with the possibility always drives them away and shuts them up. Her younger brother Megumi didn't want her to be alone in it so he studied curses nad is quite fluent with it himself.

She's hard to get to know, but once she establishes close ties with people, she's very loyal to them. She might scare people with her vague, dark comments, but you just have to get used to them. The things she says are hilarious. She's secretive at times and likes to leave people wondering what she's really thinking, and that's what makes her so cool.

History (300+ words): Hanajima transferred to Tohru's school because supposedly she, "caused a little accident," (said with evil and foreboding overtones, of course) at her old school. She never lets on as to what actually happened, and Hana is perfectly fine leaving it in those vague terms and allowing everyone else to make use of their imagination. The kids at her old school picked on and bullied her a lot. It was at one of these times that her powers sort of errupted and a boy got injured. Her parents were always worried about her powers but over time she has learned how to control them.

When Hana was younger, the first discoveries of her power frightened her. A boy, one of her classmates, taunted her, called her a witch, and forced her to devour a live newt. In uncontrollable anger and outrage, Saki commanded the boy to die in her mind. With this thought, the boy suddenly collapsed unconcious onto the floor, nearly dead. Realizing what she could do with her power, she became wary and terrified of herself. She knew that she had a great ability, but was horrified that she also had the power to harm people. From then on, she decided to remind herself of how dangerous she was.

Megumi is an adoring little brother and very close to Hana. For a long time it was just the two of them against the world. But when Hana was at another school and befriended Tohru, Megumi was still there by his sister's side. They have a bond that most siblings wish they had and are very close. Their parents are kind enough, with their father rarely there and their mother having a part time job they see enough of their parents. Konomi is always their for her children if they need her, her job requires little time so she is able to take care of her children and her mother. The family is very close, which has added to Saki's loyalty to her friends Uo and Tohru.
