Onigiri Harvest

[Hikari Sohma]

Hikari looked up from the school book he was reading as the teacher spoke, telling everyone it was lunch time. He let out a very small sigh. He never really liked lunch; food made him sick. But whenever he didnt eat, the teacher would complain and talk to Hiko about it and he would get a lecture.

Sighing a bit louder he reached into his bag and pulled out a plate of 12 peices of ell sushi. He had made him himself; it wasnt the best, but it wasnt bad either. He looked into his bag, fishing out a can of Ramune as he looked back to the book.

He ate a few peices, hearing a few snickers from people around him. Great...the talk had started already. He rolled his eyes slightly as he opened the soda, popping the marble in to make it fizz. but due to his carlessness, he dropped his book along the way.

"Baka." He muttered as he reached down to pick the book up.

[Kakeru Manabe]

Kakeru Manabe was standing in the lunch line along with a few other people from his class in 3-C when he saw Hikari sitting at a lunch table alone by a corner window. He gasped and once he payed his fee for the food he got, he excused himself from his regular table and sat down next to Hikari, who he had know for around six months now. He slapped Hikari on his back (gently!) and sat down beside him.

"Hikari-kun! How're you doing? I saw you sitting over here all alone and just had to come over here; you know how I feel towards people who sit alone anywhere! I'm what you'd say a 'social butterfly'. Heh, so.. why are you over here all alone? Shouldn't you be over there with the rest of you clasmates? You're nice and you know it. C'mon, dude! You're great!" he said as he put his hand on Hikari's shoulder.

Hikari was deep in his book and hal way throh his food when Kakeru came over and slamed him. He coughed lightly, swollowing his food as he looked over to the boy, listening to what he was saying

He coughed again lightly, feeling an extrmely thin line of blush appear on his face. He had known Kakeru for about 6 months now and he had opened up slightly to the boy,w hich was odd for him. He looked away for a moment and then looked at him again.

"I dont exactly, hang out with people very well." He said quietly as he closed his book. He looked at Kakeru and was about to say something, but changed his mind. "Why arenr tou with your friends?" he asked.

Kakeru nodded, tilting his head a bit to the left, as if he was seriously thinking why he wasn't with his friends. Serious? Kakeru? HA! He hadn't been serious since his last year in middle school, and he wasn't ever planning to do so again, either. Mainly because of what had caused him to become so serious.

"Eh? My friends? Oh... ah... well, I just wanted a change for today, so I came over here," he said, while putting his arm around the back of Hikari's chair on his shoulders, "to sit with you. That okay, Hikari-kun?" he continued, winking playfully.

Hikari looked at him for a moment as he answered the question. the feeling of smeone was hiding somthing. He smiled to him, having no need to pry as he felt a small blush forming again.

"No, its no proble." He said as he put the book away. He smiled to him. "So, whats up with you?" He asked softly as he looked to him with a honest look in his eyes. Kakeru was one of the few people he felt strangely confortable around who wasnt a Sohma.
