I've noticed the PS3 has almost no good publicity and little public support. Lots of factors seem to come to this but I think the main is the sticker price. Just decided to make this to see what other reasons people come up with. I understand their trying to expand their technology and games with the whole Blu-Ray concept but really, its just too expensive. I mean their estimating $499- $599 as a system cost. Now I don't have 600 to spend on a system and don't know many who do... For that I could buy a computer that would probably be better. Another reason for the price is all the add-ons. Its really computer like and thats not what we need in a console in my opinion. Like they claim it can handle seven controllers? Alrighty then. When I get a screen big enough to handle a seven way split I'll let ya know. Also claims of "always online" which may even create "in game pop ups" no... Never. I find that one hard to believe but if true would also ruin the system. Also I just read that the PS3 "The PlayStation 3 does not include interfaces for legacy PlayStation devices such as the DualShock controller and PS1/PS2 memory cards" (wikipedia.org) Now... Why be backwards compatible without memory cards? What could you do? Well... Thats all my good points for now. Ideas? Arguements? Feel free to post em.

XD! You go to fight a boss in FFXIII and he is replaced by a pop-up for Viagra!

You see, people want so much in a system. THey want it to be able to play music CDs, DVDs, use its own browser, buddy lists, etc, etc. What they don't realize is the cost that the things they want it to do, we have cheaper and better ways of doing it.

If the PS3 is always online, that means you would have to get some sort of virus protection for it, and there is more money wasted.

When will people learn though? The Dreamcast was computer like and online. And it basically got wiped out by a virus. PC and Consoles are two different things. Thus the constant debate over Console Vs PC. If you want music play a radio, if you want email and interactive buddy lists get on a computer. Making a console a PC is a bad idea. It completely ruins the concept and drains money. People need to quit being so lazy that they can't even stand to operate multiple devices... Thats sad.

Wii FTW!

I might get a PS3. In 2 years. I bet it'll cost half than the normal price by then.

I'm getting a Wii on the day or it's release - I'm going to pre-order one.

Eh. While everyone else is forming giant lines outside the nearby stores I'll be enjoying drastically reduced cost PS2,GC,Xbox games. Woo! So many games I've yet to play that will become useless... Anyways. Back on topic. I believe Wii is the most popular... Probably due to the fact its REALLY outside of the box thinking backed up by the fact that... Its Nintendo.
