I might make some more banners with characters on in the future. I quite like the last banner I made - our Kaire is quite photogenic when she wants to be. I probably draw her more than any of the others. I came up with this the other day:
![]() Messing about with my custom brush again, but I still like it. |

Just a quick character question to see if I write the same way as others.
You said in the character section that Kaire doesn't like talking about her past. I take this to mean that her character will be develloped at a slower pace to match the character and shape her the way you want. Here's the question now. Do you know her past already? If I were writing, I probably wouldn't, but then again, I don't have very good control of my characters. Do you have conscious control of your characters, or do their actions sometimes surprise you? |

It depends what I'm writing. The novel I'm working on at the minute...the main character is very much her own person, so to an extent I feel like I'm following her around with a notebook and just taking down what's happening to her.
But with Nones, I spent a lot of time - usually travelling to and from work - just thinking about the story and fleshing it out. So to an extent, I already knew a lot about the characters already, and what kind of choices they would make, before I started writing. BUT, at the same time as I work on the story, their motivations shift and change, and that means I can see challenges popping up in the future where I didn't expect them. There was one section of the plot that was perfect for Dax to enact, given who he is and what he wants, something that I didn't expect but works completely. So it's a little of both. And to actually answer your question: yep, I do know Kaire's past. |

![]() Sketched this the other day around midnight. I did have another drawing of Kaire and Athellus, but I like this one better. |

And is this supposed to be canon, or just fun-sketch-time?

Mission accomplished *thumbs up*
Good thing I can't draw, the characters of my stories would get angry if I started drawing them dong things they didn't or wouldn't do. |

Yeah, but sometimes it's fun to draw something silly. Makes sure you're not taking your creation *too* seriously.

Good thing my characters can be odd enough that I don't take them seriously to begin with...
