Hi guys! ....I'm poofing back in here, magically, thanks to TP mentioning crocodiles and monitors. As some might notice...I'm not so good with the owls (har). So yeah...and this is now finished.
Name: Jukazekh MKA (Mostly Known As): Trigger
Species: Nile monitor lizard
Age: 25 (In human years....because I don't know how long a monitor lives...so...yeah, my excuse.)
Gender: Male
Rank: Nomad (Yes...?)
Troop/Alliances: None as of yet.
Picture: I'll sketch it.....yet...
Description: Jukazekh has a dark gray-green color which covers most of him save for the tip of his snout where it is a black color. From the top of his scaley eyebrows to the tips of his claws and tail are white stripes, not so defined however. They appear as if they were pushed together, fading as they near the end of his tail. Serving as a thick outline for each stripe is a dark, dark gray.
He is rather thin in appearance with somewhat long legs built for speed which he uses frequently. Due to abnormal growth, some of his teet jut out from his mouth giving him a brute-like appearance. Jukazekh's eyes don't betray his feelings so much as his facial appearances do. His scaley eyebrows are low over his eyes making him appear to be aggrivated or angry at someone. However, his voice his young and deep and his s's are often dragged.
Personality: Quick to act, not so quick to think, this monitor can easily betray himself when it comes to trying not to reveal feelings. He often gets into trouble when his tongue acts before his mind can think. He's also quick to get emotional, especially when others comment about his appearance. Forcing his head up high most of the time when he walks, he attains an air of pride rather than of arrogance which he often-times keeps. Manners are also something he lacks. He's quick to interrupt, push, shove, do what he has to do to get where he wants to go, including in conversations. However, he can be helpful, if not kind should no one make a slip of the tongue.
History: His family wasn't one of the most high-class kinds and they weren't the most respectable either. In Trigger's mind, they were sluggish, lazy, and were cowards. His siblings weren't close to him nor to each other and since his family often stayed in alleys and small make-shift shelters, they barely moved from the shadows of the Floating City. That was where Jukazekh began his life acting quite similarly to his kin, greed and survival forcing him to stick to his family's side for a small ration of food.
However, unlike his brothers and sisters, he wasn't one to stay in one place and he cared little of who he inherited such an adventurous trait from because neither his mother or father seemed to care. His life in the Floating City was short for him due to the crowded areas he often found himself in. With ease, though, he was given a title from acquaintances. It was due to his quick reactions and emotional changes and he liked the name. Soon enough, as he progressed to adolesence, he was venturing outside the city, very few times bringing goods to live with. In his mind, being outside the city gave one the opportunity to eat well and live well.
Trigger was the name he kept too, not alerting many of his real name. He abandoned his family during mid-adolescence and abandoned a city that others thought of as magnificent. He sought to explore lands and discover, if he could, a home he could enjoy. However, he continues to travel, his idea of home put off as he meets new creatures both troublesome or jovial.
Example RP: Deep, dark green trees loomed overhead with rough and smooth bark and roots that seemed to reach out underground. A light wisp of warm wind travelled over the treetops making them whistle as if calling the nightflyers forth to fly under the crescent moon and the thousands of stars. Black scaley nostrils pointed towards the sky seemed to be another of the many dark shadows. They were far from such though as Trigger sniffed the air. The sweet smell of water mingled with rotting wood and the sweet smells of fruits and flowers made him glance around. He wasn't one to eat fruits nor flowers but if there was rotting wood nearby, there would be some form of meat in the wood. That, he knew for sure.
His black eyes scanned the area as he continued to walk at a slug pace, careful to make very little noise. Although the night creatures that dwelled hear made loud calls and continuous chirps, Trigger knew that the slightest odd sound of approaching towards any of these creatures would send them scuttling away or running at him and would anyone nearby of his presence. His scale pattern easily conceiled him but he was aware that some were able to see well at night. The monitor's gaze focused on a fallen log to the right of him, one that he could visibly see, was rotting away. Swiftly he moved towards it, kneeling down and using his claws to tear at the bark, his eyes searching for beatles, worms, or any grub. He hadn't been to any place recently, by his own choice though.
Pale yellow orbs focused on dark shadows cast by many things, searching for life. White whiskers twitched as a slight breeze brought the scent of things lurking in the forest, but one in particular that stood out. A foul scent that smelled like a mixture between rotting meat and foul mud hit the panther's scent glands causing him to curl back his lips and reveal sharp white teeth. The shadows kept him hidden with his black fur and he knew that this fouled intruder of the forest would easily fall victim to him. Slowly and silently he ducked low, hiding behind bushes and plants, drawing closer to the scent.
Hard to believe I would find myself eating bugs in such a populated place as this! Trigger thought bitterly as he shoved another bug into his mouth, catching it in between two sharp teeth and crunching it. His stomach wasn't going to be full, he knew that. However, he needed it to the point he could move on until morning. Trigger glanced up as he felt a strange feeling rise in him, a warning feeling. Reflexively he went for the small machete he had attached to the thick brown leather belt on his waist. Rising to his feet, the machete in hand, he turned in small circles, a low growl rising in his throat. "I know yer there!" he snarled, his eyes flickering to each movement as he turned in circles.
The panther cursed to himself silently as he watched the lizard turn in circles. He had a weapon. This could possibly be a stronger struggle if he didn't jump in at the right time...
