'Seriously, does my subconscious have an attraction to this place or something,' Damian sighed and hit himself in the head. He'd been wandering aimlessly around the school to avoid doing his homework, it was becoming something of a hobby of his, and he had ended up at the 'sports area' once again.

He still wasn't fond of these places, they were much to open and echoic... and smelt funny. Personally, Damian thought that someone’s back garden or living rooms were better alternatives. However, that was undoubtedly not a shared opinion and tended to result in potted-petunia-fatalities. Damian was a silly boy sometimes.

Exhaling in an exasperated manner, Damian looked around. He suddenly had a prickling feeling, as if someone was watching him.
'I'm being paranoid now!' After looking around, he rolled his eyes and turned to leave. Damian saw no reason to stay, he hadn’t consciously come here after all... and now he was imagining things to boot.

Okay, first victom. This'll be easy... Taylor thought as she exited the woods with four legs.

She'd scare him to death. A rabid dog on the loose, and maybe he'd use his power on instict. Yup, easy as hell...

With fur as black as pitch that it made her look like a wolf. A large one at that. She was good at transformation. Hence why she was picked for this particular mission.

On her forepaws, she held her ground, right in back of the innocent boy. No hurting, just scaring. And slowly, a growl errupted from her throat. Her white teeth was bared.

A growling sound behind Damian caused him to pause. He turned around slowly and came face to face with a large, black dog. A large, black, angry looking dog! Its teeth were bared dangerously. A low growling rumbled from it. Happy, friendly dogs whose only motive was to try to lick you death didn't tend to bear their teeth at you and growl.

Damian instantly stepped away from the dog, putting as much distance as he could between them, and muttered a swearword under his breath. Great! Just bloody great! What exactly was he supposed to do in this situation?!
In theory, he could use his power possess the dog and make it go elsewhere. However, Damian didn't know if animal's souls were anything like humans and he could end up just making himself ill or something. It wasn't worth the risk. Instead, he opted to try calming the dog down.

"Um... Calm down, boy," he tried, in what he hoped was a soothing voice. This could of course just end up aggravating it more! "There's nothing to be angry about. I'm not going to hurt you!" 'What sort of school lets rabid dogs run around it anyway?!'

You want to know something funny? How come everybody always assumes a dog is a male? Why can't they just look at their frickin' sex. But of course, you had to give Damian some sympathy. He wasn't in the situation to be curious and bend down.

Taylor lowered her furry head and stepped closer in a crouch. C'mon, buddy. Don't make me do anything drastic. Work with me!

This didn't seem to be working. The dog had crouched and stepped closer to him again. Damian took another step away from the dog and fell over his own feet. This prompted yet another swearword. Great, now not only was he being growled at by a psycho dog but he was also sitting on his arse.

For lack of a better option - he was most definitely not going into that dog's head - Damian decided to continue his rather fruitless method of calming the dog down. He really did not know how you were meant to deal with rabid dogs. After all, they had never exactly been much of a problem in the rich neighbourhood he'd grown up in.

"Really, Boy!" - Maybe it was a girl dog and didn't like being called 'Boy' - "I won't hurt you. There's no need to growl. Don't you have an owner or something to go home to?"

Taylor nipped at him, looking as if she was ready to pounce. She beared her white teeth even more, if possible, and her growl came out more clearer. Let's see your power... She eased forward, almost inching. Her claws punchered the soft dirt beneath her.

And she bolted, heading straight for him.

"Shit!" Damian swore and instinctively used his arms to cover his head. It was at times like this that he wished for a power that would have more use in fighting. While being able to physically enter someone's body, and control their actions if he wanted, could be extremely useful at times, it didn't help much when you were being pounced on by a rabid dog.

A small nagging told him that it was possible to possess this dog but he pushed it back. Damian didn't know if animals were the same as humans but he didn't want to risk finding out right now. Besides, he wasn't exactly keen on the idea of leavening his body unattended right now. Generally, it wasn’t considered smart to leave your body to the mercy of wild dogs with absolutely no way of defending yourself. (Besides, he still had bruises from his last fall when possessing someone!)

Although he subconsciously knew that it would only anger the dog, Damian hit out at it with his left arm. Hopefully, it would scurry off back to where it came from soon.

((Sorry, didn't know what to do!))

Taylor jumped back, yelping. Holy crap, that hurt!

She snarled, but didn't get any closer. She'll have a large bruise on her cheek tomorrow morning and Axel will wonder what had happened. Her gray eyes studied him for a minute.

She sat down now, lifting up her lip to still show a hint of teeth. This wasn't her day. He just hit a girl! I should scream assault! The little bastard... Oh, he'll pay.

Mentally hitting himself, Damian quickly jumped up again. The dog was probably furious now. Great! He desperately needed to learn not to be so impulsive. He had most likely just angered a rabid dog that had already chosen him as a victim. Not the best idea in the world by any means.
Although, it wasn’t moving to attack him. It had snarled of course but it wasn't coming any closer. Maybe it was just dazed about being hit.

'Idiot! Just get out of here,' Damian slowly took a step back and turned around, while trying to keep one eye on the dog. He could scold himself about this one he managed to get away from aforementioned rabid dog… somehow. Damian was having trouble trying to think of a way to put a large amount of distance between the two of them quickly and snap the dog out of its daze… and provoke it to attack again.

((Sorry! Sorry! Bad!!!))

Okay, okay, calm down, Taylor. He might just have a healing power... yeah, maybe that's why he didn't take action... Time for plan B.

Taylor slowly laid down, a low whimpering noise sounded from her throat. It sounded as if it was a puppy who owned this soft whining voice. She laid her head on her forepaws, looking at Damian with hurtful eyes.

Despite his better judgement, Damian turned around again at the sound of whimpering. The dog was now lying on it's forepaws with a forlorn look on its face. He hadn't hit it that hard, had he?

Sigh exasperated, he turned around and stepped closer to it, although continuing to stay well out of biting distance. The fact that the dog had seemed hell-bent on taking one of his limbs back with it earlier somehow outweighed most of the guilt he felt over hurting it. Even if he did have a healing power, he wouldn't have used it. It was just silly to make something that was keen to injure you more capable of doing so.

"Go home and whimper at your owner, get them to take you to the vets or something," Damian told the dog, before slowly backing away and turning to leave again. There was nothing he could do about it and, in all honesty, he would be glad to get away from it.

Taylor crawled to his feet, keeping her body down, and leaned her head against his shoes to block him from walking away. She looked pathetic and helpless.

Perfect.

C'mon, you aren't going to leave me in the cold all by myself with an injured jaw...

She wimpered some more, nudging him. His shoes stunk of leather and foot wear. Must be new shoes.

Damian jumped back in shock and came close to unintentionally kicking the dog. It had decided to lay its head on his trainers and whimper. 'What on earth does it want?! Is it manic-depressive or something!'

"Stupid dog," he muttered, crouching down to the same level as it. Since the dog had decided it was bored with being rabid, he took the risk and gingerly stroked its head.
"I mean it, go home and get your owner to take you to the vets... I can't exactly do anything for you!" Damian told it. He doubted the dog would actually understand but it was worth a try.

He straightened up and stepped away slowly. Damian hoped it wouldn't continue to follow him, it was kind of annoying.

Taylor acted like a good dog and let him stroke her head. This was so ridiculous. Why wouldn't he do anything when he was in danger?!

It was time to opproach this from a different direction. As Axel had always said, he liked a chalange. Well, if God could give out the worlds' most complicated problem, then she damn well find out the simplest answer. She sprinted off in the opposite direction.

Soon she'd meet this Damian again.

Damian blinked. "Psycho dog!" he muttered, turning away. He was completely sure what had just happened but he had the feeling that that dog's owner may have dropped their drugs into its food again.

Still, it was pretty disconcerting. He'd never seen a human have mood-swings like that and the majority of dogs he'd previously met had seemed pretty single-minded.
Shaking his head again, he turned to leave. 'Stupid dog's got me confused now... Stop thinking about it! It's not like I'm ever going to see it again or anything!'
