QUOTE (Luke Paul Chandler @ Mar 5 2007, 12:42 PM)
Ovie, he's not as explosive as he was 3 years ago.  He's on the downside of his career.  Get off his sack.

I'm aware of this, never said he's still in his prime or anything. But people act like just because he just turned 30 that he's no longer going to produce. As I've said before, dude's got a good 2, maybe even 3 1000+ yard years left in him. He's a special player that Packers fans never appreciated. Maybe they gave him too much money, but every free agent that has been picked up this year has gotten too much money. Blame the system.

Do you even know any Packer fans? He was loved here, but most people know he is slowing down. You'd be blind not to see that. He's not a $5 million per year back. Plain & simple. He gets banged up too easily. Hasn't played a full season in at least three years. Things like that tend to affect productivity. The fact that he'll be running behind a crappier line won't help either.

To bring this full circle, Rueben Droughns was a 1200 yard back in 2005. In 2006, he barely produced half of that. This is what happens when you have a physical running style.

Why the hell is Mario Williams selling his house?
QUOTE
The home owned by former Texas Southern President Pricella Slade is up for sale again.

Slade was indicted on charges of using school money for landscaping and furnishing for the home located on terrace drive near memorial drive.

Houston Texan Mario Williams bought the residence last summer for $1.7 million.

He placed it back on the market in February for $2 million.

I wouldn't read too much into that. They really could not afford to move him this soon. The cap hit and the negative press would crush them.

Maybe he realized how dumb it was to spend that much on a house? He's turning a profit on it at least.

Mario, you loveable financial bastard-wizard! Go buy some property in New Orleans when it hits rock bottom, and you'll be a billionaire!

Where will Black fit with the Texans? RT? LT? If Spencer comes back full strength, who starts? Black, Spencer or Winston?

To ever count on Spencer again is nuts.

Black might be the LT or RG

Spencer is a G...bottom line. Winston should start LT unless they trade back and grab Staley.

It's sad, but Spencer was the best left tackle they had last year. He's apparently making good progress on the broken leg.

Winston has stubby arms; they project him to move inside to guard eventually, but for now he's the RT. They resigned Salaam to a 3 year deal; I bet he's playing LT until Staley or Levi Brown is ready, if they draft either. Black will probably replace Weigart (dfjahadfga) at one guard position. Are they still playing McKinney at the other guard w/ Hodgedon at center? I'm getting none of the names correct right now. More coffee.

Yeah, Black would probably be better off as a guard, even though he was improving as a LT by the end of the year.
