Title: The Dallas Cowboys
Description: Americas Team
Moses512 - January 31, 2006 02:52 AM (GMT)
Well if you guys havent seen already Dallas signed chris palmer to be the new qb coach.
Dave Ryan - January 31, 2006 04:00 AM (GMT)
Now they just need a QB to coach. Bledsoe isn't the answer.

his name is drew henson and hes gonna prove he can still ball this summer in europe.

Well, I definitely know about Henson. He's got to cut down on his mistakes, but I've always thought he could be a decent starter in the NFL. As long as you aren't claiming Tony Romo is the next great QB......
cowboysfan31 - February 20, 2006 02:31 AM (GMT)
I'm looking forward to seeing Henson dominate NFLE this summer. Right now on NFLEurope's website they've got a poll going on who will be the most successful QB this year, and Henson has over 40% of the vote right now. Doesn't mean a whole lot, but the Rhein Fire are a good team and I can't wait to see him get some real playing time.
marroncito - February 24, 2006 12:22 AM (GMT)
Do the Cowboys go WR day one? What about a true NT? Will they try to find one in the draft or FA?
Matt Shumate - February 24, 2006 12:24 AM (GMT)
Ferguson's a good NT. Can't see why you'd want to waste a first day on another one.

Youth? They don't have any depth after Fergy.
Matt Shumate - February 24, 2006 12:30 AM (GMT)
Is Glover gone? I was pretty sure they had a solid rotation last year...

He will be, high cap number. I think he played well as the nose in limited duty.

LTs, CBs, FSs and WRs. Met with Chad Jackson at length and with Jon Scott twice.
|
this would be great for dallas if they could pick up just one of those guys. could it be possible to pick up both? chad in the first and jon in the second.
maclone - March 15, 2006 06:01 AM (GMT)
Now what?
We let go Glover, Campbell, and Keyshawn.
We already needed a reciever now we need 2. We were pretty set at Tight End and now we need to find a blocking tight end, and an overall balanced one?
We've been needed a RT but we resign a guard and sign another Guard as well?
We signed a backup LB with the hopes of him starting?
Honestly gentlemen I'm confused. I don't care for Terrell Owens, I don't dis what he can do on the field but he makes Michael Irvin look like boy scout. And if we do sign him it should only be for one yr with plenty of incentives. It was pretty bad when everyone laughed at the eagles when they signed him now they we are going to be the laughing stock of the nfl? At best we are 2 yrs from being a solid franchise with repectable chances of making it deep into the playoffs.
Anyone have any ideas of what to expect next? we have serious funds to spend and so far we've nothing but watch all of the big names sign with other teams, I am so confused.
Marc
cowboysfan31 - March 15, 2006 06:18 AM (GMT)
If the Cowboys could pick up a good kicker (Josh Brown now looks like our best hope), a veteran FS, and some WR help in FA that'd be good. If we managed to pick up T.O., Marcus Coleman, McGinest, Tutan Reyes, and Vinitieri/Brown I'd be very happy.
As far as the draft goes Holmes in the 1st, Scott in the 2nd, Anthony Smith in the 3rd would be a nice first day as far as I'm concerned.
Matt Marrero - March 15, 2006 11:45 AM (GMT)
why holmes? "chackson" is just to beastly to pass up
imagine this,
TO at right
Chackson at left
Glenn at slot
Crayton on there too...
Luke Paul Chandler - March 15, 2006 05:03 PM (GMT)
I love how Cowboys fans hated TO a year ago, now he's more popular than Jesus down there :D

I haven't fallen for all of this Jackson madness. He's got good measureables but hasn't really shown alot of talent on a consistent basis thus far. Holmes is more polished IMO and both have about the same ceiling as far as potential goes.

I still don't really want TO, but when we cut Keyshawn we screwed ourselves because our WRs weren't too deep as it was. TO is probably the best left out there if we can keep him in line, too bad the new CBA doesn't allow behavior clauses but we could bring back Teague to be our TO enforcer.

With the "TO Rule" put into the new CBA I actually feel bad for the Cowboys should they sign TO. We all knows its only a matter of time before this ticking time bomb goes off.

time bomb...

the hell with it, you get the point.
cowboysfan31 - March 18, 2006 05:30 AM (GMT)
The Cowboys finally made a few moves today signing Hannam, Fabini, and reportedly coming very close with TO. An offseason of TO, Kosier, Fabini, Ayodele, Hannam, Brown/Vanderjagt, and a decent FS would be very nice.
Jojo - March 20, 2006 05:13 PM (GMT)
Fabini, Vanderjagt, & especially Ayodele wwould make me smile by themselves.
But TO is such a mixed bag, with baggage too. Way too much baggage. Oh, wtf, done deal now, with a considerable salary reduction from his Eagles days. I hope for the best for my fave team but you know everyone, especially Parcells, will be keeping 1 eye on "Team Obliterator" when he's off the field. The sportswriters at the Ft. Worth Star Telegram & Dallas Morning News are licking their chops in anticipation.
You know I'm at odds with this when I start quoting Skip Bayliss......
Posted this on the NFL board, but here it is again: the Vegas & Jersey sports book oddsmakers have Dallas ranked 4th now, an 8-1 shot to win SB 41, where they were 25-1 before TO signed. Only Indy, New England, & Seattle are ahead of them in the new foodchain.
The tension will emerge when TO his his 1st harsh words with Bledsoe -- the Cowboys will definitely be checking terrellowens.com to guage his reaction. LOcal San Jose sportswriter Tim Kawakami said in his column today "which p/o BLedsoe will ticking time bomb (good analogy & JPEGs, MA!) TO attack 1st? His lack of mobility, his accuracy, or his manhood?" Scary, isn't it?
Mike Aitkens - March 20, 2006 05:19 PM (GMT)
I just don't see this working out for the Cowboys. Andy Reid runs a damn tight ship and always had and even the Stormin' Mormon couldn't keep TO in line. There is no way I think Parcells can either. If TO lasts till midseason before he blows up I'll be shocked. I also think that first Eagles/Cowboys game will be interesting. I see Dawkins suplexing TO onto his head at least once in that game.
Luke Paul Chandler - March 20, 2006 05:24 PM (GMT)
And 'girls fans thought that Antonio Bryant was a distraction :P
Dave Ryan - March 20, 2006 10:45 PM (GMT)
Does Owens realize that Bledsoe is one of the worst QB's that he could play with right now?
The sacks, the fumbles, the interceptions, and the horribly erratic throws are going to add up after a few games and this is going to be a bad situation.
Mike Aitkens - March 20, 2006 10:49 PM (GMT)
Its a damn shame that Jack Bauer only saves America, b/c if he would take outside jobs Jerry Jones would have one hell of an offer on the table for him. He's the only one that can stop this ticking time bomb.

Bledsoe won't take poop from TO like McNabb and Garcia did. Bledsoe will put you in your place if you're an out-of-line WR.
Bledsoe had a solid year, but things started going down hill when the OL fell apart and Jason Witten had to stay in to block more. Drew definitely would've been in the Pro Bowl (probably even started in it) if the line had stayed healthy... He was in the top 4 for QB rating for most of the season.

I think you're missing the point here, its freaking TO here. Ain't no man alive who can keep him down.

JoJo I read in a few places that TO was making more money then he would have as a Eagle. Maybe not as much over all but I think its more per year.
bigmike - March 22, 2006 01:05 AM (GMT)
Have not really dissed TO so im happy about the signing and don't have to retract my words like the brothers do. LOL but its a great pick up. I think TO see's that this is the end of the road and one more F up and he is proable done for that and Parcells i think TO will be ok
and cowboys cut Larry Allen this afternoon. not sure if we are going to try and bring him back or he is done for
Cornbread - March 22, 2006 03:41 AM (GMT)
This is probably a good move for all parties. Owens will be on his best behavior because he knows this will be his last chance. The way Dallas structured the contract it is basically three one year contracts. They can terminate the contract by not paying the roster bonus every year. Owens will be a good fit with Terry Glenn the deep threat and Bledsoe's accurate, powerful arm. The inmates run the asylum down in Philly, but Big Bill is in charge down in Big D, he will keep TO in line. The NFC East will be tough next year but Dallas, NY and Washington should easily be the top three teams.
Ken Leibee - March 22, 2006 03:53 AM (GMT)
The inmates run the asylum? really? That's why they suspended TO and then cut him, right? Cause they are crazy?
Sorry, but that was just a wrong statement.

You're a complete idiot. Just go away. The inmates run the prison? Hello, maybe you should look towards the Dallas Cowboys if you want to see that going on. You NEVER hear anything about Eagles getting into trouble with the law, or anything of that sort. Andy Reid does not tolerate those type of things. In fact he's cut rookies b/c they've gotten into trouble with the law. As for your statement about the TO contract, the Eagles gave TO the same type of contract in other words one that protected them. We all know how that worked out.

Drew Bledsoe has an accurate arm?
Nobody with the middle name of "McQueen" has an accurate arm.
