Title: Denver Broncos

Who's the FO geniuses that got them 7 picks in the first four rounds? Who's their draft guru?
I'm sure this has been asked before elsewhere, but why are the Broncos so active in this draft? They've already made 3+ trades?

Ted Sundquist is the general manager, but he acts more as a personnel guy who handles the scouting department. Shanahan has the final executive say in relation to trades/cuts/signings/draft picks.
They need to improve depth and fill some holes to ensure they stay in playoff contention, so they're making a lot of very good moves.

He's right. They have someone aging players like Rod Smith and John Lynch, they lost Trevor Pryce and Mike Anderson, and their pass rush wasn't that great last season.

I think they did an amazing job of generating heat though. Denver defenders have a very good sense of timed blitzes also. Plus, their scheme is kinda weird. The DE's really don't have to speed rush, they are mostly bull rushers, and push towards the middle more.
But with that being said, they do need to work on the DL. A good situational guy would help.

People are forgetting that Denver signed Kenard Lang, who is a very good all-around DE, and an exceptional pass rusher... I mean, I wish the guy would take a small portion of his earnings and get that unibrow taken care of (man that thing is disturbing), but aside from that, along with Engelberger and Brown (who really is a good DE...just not #1 overall pick good) I don't see why they'd be too anxious to grab a DE before addressing other situations like safety, WR, DT, and OL & RB depth.

After watching the Denver and Tennessee game tonight, i now think that Denver might win the West. They looked solid. I know it was against the Titans, but still. They were running all over the Titans, and the defensive line fairly well.
