I will read most anything, even if it is not my favorite, but I won't read anything breaking up the pairing of Jakotsu/Bankotsu, unless it is one-sided Jakotsu/Inuyasha or a PWP involving Jakotsu, Bankotsu, and Inuyasha. Renkotsu/Jakotsu especially squicks me. I also do not like Original Characters.

I am very against JakotsuXBankotsu. I feel this way about trioshipping in Harry Potter as well. I feel that Jakotsu and Bankotsu are to close as friends for that relationship to be bended.It seems wrong to destroy a bond that lovely and mistake it for possible romance. Some people are just ment to be brothers/friends/partners, and Bankotsu and Jakotsu are along them.

Kagome XHoujou (to me) is just a way for KikyouXInuyasha fans to get Kikyou out of the way. This pairing should be (obviously)bland and pointless.I doubt there are really any people who actually support this ship for what it really is. That being the case...why not try KagomeXRenkotsu *YEEEEY*

I do appreciate friendship between Jakotsu and Bankotsu, but it does have the possibility to be more, and since they are such good friends, I don't think a relationship of the romantic sort would ruin that. I also support Ron/Hermione in Harry Potter, but, again, friendship is just fine with me.
Renkotsu should be paired with EVERYONE. Seriously. My friends and I have paired him with Tsubaki, Yuka, Yura, Kagura, Kaguya, Ruri and Hari, Kouga, Naraku, Suikotsu, Ginkotsu... I am sure there is more, I just cannot remember right now. The point is, Renkotsu deserves love from everyone. XD

I would have to agree with shichinintailuv. In my opinion, starting out as friends is a great way to start a relationship. Starting out as friends first, might give the opportunity for others to have a stronger bond and unlike many couples, they might not ignore each other once they've broken up. It's like saying Kagome and Inuyasha or Inuyasha and Kikyou shouldn't be together just because they started out as friends.

As for Kagome and Houjo, this couple did start out for me a couple of years ago, to get Kagome out of the picture of Inuyasha and Kikyou, but I would think it's better for Kagome to have someone that lives in her own time. Then again, I'm probably just narrow-minded.

What I really don't like as a pairing is Kagome and Jakotsu. Jakotsu is gay and he hates woman. It's highly unlikely.

It is like in that one fic by Jennie where Suikotsu was talking about how the best couples are those who start off as friends, because a relationship needs a firm foundation built on trust, respect, and love. Starting off as friends allows that foundation to be stronger. Not saying that all good/best friends should take their relationship to the next level, it is just interesting to read about a pair such as Jakotsu and Bankotsu taking it to the next level, furthering that trust, respect, and love they already have for one another.
I am a big fan of Inuyasha/Kagome, but I do see the appeal of Houjo/Kagome because, hey, Inuyasha lives in a different era and it might not work out. I don't think Inuyasha/Kikyou would work out either though, because she really belongs to the land of the dead, while he belongs to the land of the living. I do like both pairings though.
I do not really like Jakotsu being paired with females either, not because he's gay, but because he hates women. He thinks they are filth, skum, and wants nothing to do with them really. I've no problem with changing peoples' sexualities in fic, but that hatred and animosity towards women is just a big turn off in any Jakotsu/Female pairing.

Truee, friendship is a good way to start, but some people would mean more to eachother as friends. Relationships change when they are altered.I believe friendship means more in this case...lovers is just some fangirl thing XD

That and..well..Bakotsu is straight, and wouldn't ever have an interest in Jakotsu, so frienship is inevitable. Even if he was gay, it wouldn't work out.Have you ever noticed that Bankotsu is the onlyone Jakotsu doesn't flirt with.There is a reason for that: its called Friendship

JakotsuXKagome was a crack ship I started when I was desprate to find Kags a hot man. Jakotsu is gay BECAUSE he hates women. Thing is, we on't know if he wa gay..as in chemically gay. We know he rejects females because of...something.

The joke was, Kagome could show Jakotsu differently

Yes, friendships do change when they are altered, maybe having a positive effect, maybe not. It pretty much depends one the people I guess, like you stated.

Though I remember one part where Bankotsu was jealous because Jakotsu was developing a liking towards Inuyasha. I could be wrong.

It all depends on how you look at things. Being in love, having a romantic relationship, doesn't automatically equal sex. Yes, some fans of the pairing are all about the sex, but you can be in love, have a relationship beyond friendship, and still keep it meaningful.
It is never stated in canon that Bankotsu is straight. He very well could be gay, bi, hell, even asexual. Jakotsu might not hit on him out of respect, he only really hits on and flirts with those he intends to kill. If he loves Bankotsu, whether out of friendship or something more, he probably would not treat him as he treats the random "cuties" he encounters.
Nobody knows the reason Jakotsu hates females. To say he is gay because he hates females is a bit close-minded. He could be gay for a number of reasons. I, for one, believe that sexuality isn't a choice, that you simply are what you are. You can have animosity towards the same gender that you prefer, and not be gay simply because you hate the opposite sex. I hate men. I think, generally, that they are pigs and skum. But am I still sexually attracted to men? Yes. I don't like them in general, but I am still straight. Hating, having animosity towards a certain sex doesn't necessarily determine what your sexuality is.
And to Thy, yeah, there are many parts, mostly in the manga, where Bankotsu's behavior could be that of jealousy, such as when he crushes the glass jar containing Kagome's shards and says to Jakotsu(about Inuyasha), "It's an unrequited love, get over it." He appears visibly peeved, upset, and you could take that as jealousy.
