Johnny Foreigner - Our Bipolar Friends

Oh, we're full of indecision around here regarding Johnny Foreigner. Yes, we love their name, and their scratchy indieness is slowing turning into something with testicles, but they still have that overwhelming odour of indieness that makes folk like Biffy Clyro completely unloveable.
But, once past the uber-twee intro, we can't help but like this tune. Damn them. But there is a crashingly good riff and a fair amount of squalling to offset the rather poor vocals. But then the guitars kick in again, and a small aneurysm goes off in my head. Which, apart from shortening my life span, is officially A Good Thing.
It's hard to get past the superficial art-rockiness of it all, but there may very well be a good band in here. T'other side, 'The Houseparty Scene Is Killing You' is mince and should be avoided, but that's why God invented the B-side. You don't actually have to play it, and it gives bands somewhere to let the bass player express himself. But keep an eye out, cos they'll probably end up being feted by the Guardian six months after the scene goes belly up.
