Paper? Ink? What's all that about then? But, apparently, people still actually read magazines now and then, and Empty Playground are trying to fill that gap between wi-fi hotspots with issue 3 of their magazine.
And it's quite a good read, although I do find it odd that virtually every record they review seems to be great. As is every show, with the exception of poor old Axl Rose and his portly tribute band. Poor guy. Kids today, with their enthusiasm and misplaced idealism. Just wait. You'll see!
There's interviews with Fony, Opeth, Funeral For A Friend and Trivium, but as we all hate Trivium round our way with their second hand thrash riffs and emo vocalese, we'll move swiftly on to the 15 track CD that comes with it. 75% rubbish, but there are 3 or 4 tracks there that make you go, woah!
It's a cheap and cheerful 40 page A5 doodah, well worth the £2 admisson price and you can PayPal for it across at
http://www.emptyplayground.co.uk/ - go on, you can afford it, and we need to encourage this sort of thing.
